Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven innovation in the learning process, including at the elementary school level. However, in practice, learning is often conducted conventionally, resulting in low student engagement and motivation. This study aims to analyze the role of the digital learning medium Quizizz in improving elementary school student learning outcomes. The method used was a literature review, examining various relevant scientific articles from national journals published between 2020 and 2025. Data collection was conducted through documentation, analyzing and comparing research findings related to the use of Quizizz in learning. The study results indicate that using Quizizz can improve student learning outcomes, motivation, and active participation in the learning process. Gamification features such as a points system, leaderboards, and immediate feedback make evaluation activities more engaging and interactive. Furthermore, Quizizz also makes it easier for teachers to monitor student learning progress more effectively. However, the use of this medium still requires adequate internet access and devices for optimal use in learning. Thus, Quizizz can be an effective alternative digital learning medium to support improving the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Early reading ability is a fundamental skill that must be mastered by lower-grade elementary school students as it serves as the foundation for understanding various subjects. However, in practice, students’ early reading skills are often still low due to monotonous teaching methods and the limited use of engaging learning media. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Picture and Picture method in improving early reading skills of first-grade elementary school students. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining relevant scientific articles from Google Scholar, Garuda, and SINTA. Data collection was conducted through documentation, while data analysis used content analysis to identify patterns and findings from previous studies. The results indicate that the Picture and Picture method is effective in enhancing early reading skills, as evidenced by improvements in learning outcomes, student mastery, as well as increased student engagement and motivation through the use of concrete and attractive visual media. Therefore, this method can serve as an effective alternative learning strategy to improve early literacy in elementary school students, with its effectiveness influenced by the quality of the media and the implementation strategy.

Abstract

Using digital technology in education is crucial for improving the quality of learning evaluation in elementary schools. This study aims to determine the effectiveness, barriers, and possible ways to utilize digital platforms such as Wordwall, Quizizz, Kahoot, Canva, and YouTube as evaluation tools. The methods used were literature review and development research. The results indicate that digital media can increase students' curiosity, enthusiasm for learning, and achievement because they are more engaging and tailored to their needs. Media such as Wordwall have very high validity and practicality, making them suitable for use. However, several issues remain, such as teachers' limited technological skills, limited internet access, and the potential for cheating during online assessments. Therefore, ongoing teacher training, strengthening digital leadership skills, and better use of learning analytics are needed. In general, digital media can improve learning outcomes if supported by a robust system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum using a deep learning approach at SD Negeri 1 Kauman Magetan. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, where data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation studies. The results indicate that teachers have integrated the three main principles of deep learning: meaningful learning through contextual strategies, mindful learning through routine reflection activities, and joyful learning through varied methods such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and interactive media. This implementation is also oriented towards developing students' 6C competencies. Although effective, the primary challenge identified is the process of shifting students' mindsets from result-oriented to process-oriented, alongside teachers' limited experience with this new approach. Adaptive strategies implemented include thorough planning, collaboration among teachers, and participation in professional workshops. The study concludes that the deep learning approach is capable of realizing more holistic and meaningful learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the issues related to students’ learning motivation and the strategies to enhance it in science learning at the elementary school level. Learning motivation plays a crucial role in influencing students’ engagement and learning outcomes, particularly in science subjects that require active participation and a high level of curiosity. However, there are still students who exhibit low learning motivation due to teacher-centered instructional methods, limited variation in teaching models, and the lack of interactive learning media. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing ten relevant journal articles related to learning motivation and science education in elementary schools. The analysis is conducted to identify the factors contributing to low learning motivation as well as effective strategies to improve it. The findings indicate that learning motivation is influenced by both internal factors, such as interest and self-efficacy, and external factors, including teaching methods, learning environment, and teacher creativity. Various strategies have been proven effective in enhancing students’ learning motivation, such as cooperative learning models, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), the use of interactive learning media, and the implementation of ice-breaking activities in the learning process. Improving students’ learning motivation requires the application of innovative, student-centered instructional strategies, supported by a conducive  learning environment to achieve optimal science learning outcomes.

Abstract

Kajian ini menelaah pemanfaatan Canva dalam pembelajaran sekolah dasar berdasarkan sepuluh artikel ilmiah yang relevan. Fokus utama kajian adalah bentuk penggunaan Canva, manfaat pedagogis yang muncul, serta hambatan implementasi yang masih dijumpai di lapangan. Hasil sintesis menunjukkan bahwa Canva digunakan untuk mengembangkan media visual seperti video animasi, komik digital, poster, presentasi interaktif, dan bahan ajar berbasis proyek. Berbagai temuan memperlihatkan bahwa media berbasis Canva cenderung membantu siswa memahami materi, meningkatkan ketertarikan belajar, memperkuat kreativitas, dan mendukung hasil belajar. Di sisi lain, pemanfaatannya masih menghadapi kendala berupa jaringan internet, ketersediaan perangkat, dan kemampuan guru dalam mengoperasikan teknologi. Berdasarkan sintesis tersebut, Canva dapat dipandang sebagai media yang adaptif dan layak dipertimbangkan untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan berpusat pada siswa di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of character education that focuses on cultural and environmental wisdom in encouraging the creation of the Pancasila Student Profile at the elementary school level. This study employed a systematic literature review method with inclusion criteria consisting of articles relevant to character education, local wisdom, and environmental education at the elementary school level published between 2015 and 2025, with a total of 12 articles analyzed using thematic analysis. The results indicate that local cultural wisdom contributes significantly to instilling values such as cooperation, tolerance, and responsibility, while environmental education builds students' ecological awareness. Several studies demonstrate that local wisdom contributes significantly to character formation, though differences exist in implementation approaches Hidayah et al. (2019) emphasize the integration of values in learning, while Devina et al. (2023) focus more on habituation in daily activities. The integration of both approaches makes learning more contextual and meaningful, thus supporting holistic character formation. However, its implementation still faces obstacles such as a lack of program consistency and teacher readiness in integrating character values. This research contributes to integrating two approaches cultural wisdom and environmental education within the framework of character education in elementary schools

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of interactive learning media to improve the motivation and learning outcomes of elementary school students. The method used was a literature review of ten scientific articles published between 2022 and 2026, which were analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that interactive media such as multimedia, animated videos, and learning applications have a positive impact on student motivation, engagement, and understanding, as well as improving learning outcomes. However, their effectiveness is also influenced by teachers' learning strategies. Therefore, the use of interactive media requires appropriate planning to make learning more engaging and meaningful.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Reading literacy in elementary schools remains a major problem in Indonesia, demonstrated by students' low ability to comprehend, analyze, and draw conclusions from reading material. Although the School Literacy Movement (GLS) has been implemented, its effectiveness tends to decline due to a lack of varied and engaging reading materials. Therefore, integration of literacy programs with learning media appropriate to student characteristics is necessary. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating the School Literacy Movement (GLS) and picture storybooks in improving elementary school students' reading literacy. The method used was a literature review, with data collection techniques through searching national journal articles in the Google Scholar and SINTA databases for the period 2021-2026. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through in-depth reading, grouping, comparison, and synthesis of research findings. The study results indicate that GLS is effective in developing sustainable reading habits, while picture storybooks can increase students' interest and understanding through visual stimuli. The integration of these two approaches has proven to be more optimal than their separate implementations. Therefore, it is recommended that schools manage the GLS program innovatively by providing a variety of reading materials, particularly picture books, to create a more effective and sustainable literacy culture. Furthermore, the results of this study are expected to serve as a foundation for further research to develop more integrated, contextual, and sustainable literacy models in the future.

Abstract

Elementary school curricula must be flexible and adaptable to changes over time due to the quick development of social dynamics and technology. The Merdeka Curriculum has been designed to enhance flexibility, creativity, and 21st-century competencies; however, its implementation still faces various challenges. This literature study analyzes the alignment of the elementary school curriculum with social and technological developments by utilizing data from relevant scientific journals and research articles. The findings indicate that, although the curriculum has been designed to be adaptive, its implementation remains limited by factors such as teachers’ competencies, facilities, and support from the educational environment. Therefore, continuous adjustments are necessary to improve the curriculum’s alignment with ongoing social and technological changes. These adjustments can be achieved through improving teacher competencies, developing educational facilities, and strengthening collaboration between schools and the community, so that the elementary school curriculum becomes more effective in enhancing students’ knowledge and skills.
