Abstract

The passage highlights the significance of creative thinking skills as an essential component of 21st-century education, alongside critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills, collectively known as the 4Cs. The research aims to develop evaluation instruments to enhance students' creative thinking skills in reproductive system material. This topic involves contextual health content, requiring creative thinking to address it. The four indicators for creative thinking skills include fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The research and development (R&D) method is employed in this developmental study. The passage describes the process of creating 10 questions based on curriculum achievements, followed by validation by experts and a final stage of testing the questions on 40 ninth-grade science students at MAN 2 of Bandung. The results indicate that one question was accepted without revisions, six questions were accepted with revisions, and three questions were rejected. The reliability of the questions reached a score of 0.73, categorized as high, meaning the questions consistently provided similar measurement results. The students' answers to the evaluation questions require creative thinking skills, indicating that these questions effectively train those skills.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of integrating local wisdom in biology learning on waste management at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Jawahir, Bandung Regency. A qualitative approach using the case study method is used to understand how applying local wisdom values such as cooperation, ngamumule, sabilulungan, and sampurasun in waste management practices influences students' understanding of biology and the environmental conditions of madrasas. Research subjects included madrasah principals, biology teachers, and students actively involved in this program. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews with madrasa heads and biology teachers, direct observation of waste management activities, documentation through activity notes and visual media, and questionnaires to measure students' understanding of biological material related to waste management. Data were analyzed using the thematic analysis method to identify main patterns and themes from interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The research results show that integrating local wisdom in biology learning at MA Al-Jawahir has had a significant positive impact. The practice of composting and recycling waste not only reduces the amount of organic waste and improves environmental cleanliness but also provides economic benefits through the sale of compost. The majority of students demonstrated a good to excellent understanding of biology in the context of waste management, according to the results of a questionnaire categorized into four levels of experience. In conclusion, the integration of local wisdom in biology education can provide an effective and sustainable solution to overcoming the waste crisis in accordance with Bandung Regency regional regulations, which encourage the active participation of educational institutions in preserving the environment. Research recommends continuing to develop this program in the curriculum and extracurricular activities and involving more parties to create a clean and healthy environment for all.

Abstract

Mutu lulusan sebuah komponen utama yang menjadi target dari suatu lembaga pendidikan dalam mewujudkan tujuan pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis tantangan evaluasi mutu lulusan berdasarkan IASP 2020. Pendekatan yang dilakukan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif analitis, adapun teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi dokumen dan kajian kepustakaan (library research). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tantangan evaluasi mutu lulusan berdasarkan IASP 2020 datang dari kesiapan sekolah serta perlunya asesor yang berkompeten. Sekolah harus benar-benar memahami mekanisme akreditasi berdasarkan IASP 2020. Selain itu, kesiapan sekolah untuk evaluasi mutu lulusan berasal kesiapan guru sebagai evaluator dalam menyiapkan dokumen yang sesuai serta penyelenggaraan pembelajaraan yang sesuai dengan IASP 2020. Sementara itu, tantangan bagi asesor adalah bahwa mereka diwajibkan memiliki integritas, kompetensi, dan pengetahuan dalam n dalam penilaian, sikap dan kepribadian yang terpuji, pemahaman dan penguasaan yang baik terhadap perangkat akreditasi sekolah/madrasah, yaitu IASP 2020, keterampilan menggunakan software Aplikasi Penskoran dan Pemeringkatan Hasil Akreditasi, kemampuan menggali informasi secara baik, kemampuan berkomunikasi yang baik dan kemampuan membuat rekomendasi yang solutif dan dapat  dilaksanakan   Challenges for evaluation of graduate quality based on the 2020 Education Unit Accreditation Instrument   Abstract: The quality of graduates is a major component that is the target of an educational institution in realizing educational goals. The purpose of this study was to analyze the challenges of evaluating the quality of graduates based on the 2020 IASP. The approach taken was qualitative with an analytical descriptive type, while the data collection technique was carried out using document studies and library research (library research). The results of this study show that the challenge of evaluating the quality of graduates based on the 2020 IASP comes from school readiness and the need for competent assessors. Schools must really understand the accreditation mechanism based on IASP 2020. In addition, the readiness of schools to evaluate the quality of graduates comes from the readiness of teachers as evaluators in preparing appropriate documents and implementing learning in accordance with IASP 2020. Meanwhile, the challenge for assessors is that they are required to have integrity, competence, and knowledge in assessment, commendable attitude and personality, good understanding and mastery of school/madrasah accreditation tools, namely IASP 2020, skills in using scoring application software and ranking of accreditation results, the ability to gather information properly, good communication skills and the ability to make recommendations that are solution and can be implemented.

Abstract

Guru seyogyanya memiliki kemampuan dan keterampilan mengkombinasikan aspek pedagogik, konten IPA dan keterampilan teknologi. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) meningkatkan kemampuan guru-guru IPA dalam penggunaan teknologi IoT, penyusunan perangkat bahan ajar berbasis STEM-IoT, refleksi selama PkM, dan memberikan rekomendasi kepada stakeholder MGMP (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran) IPA dan KKM (Kelompok Kerja Madrasah). Aplikasi alat mengenai pendeteksi stunting. Desain Service Learning meliputi investigasi, persiapan, pelaksanaan, refleksi, dan demonstrasi. Peserta berasal dari dua komunitas guru-guru IPA. Komunitas guru-guru IPA yang terdapat di dua kabupaten Jawa Barat berjumlah 37 orang. PkM menggunakan perangkat kegiatan diantaranya materi PkM mengenai STEM-IoT, panduan pembuatan modul ajar, perangkat IoT untuk mengukur ketinggian, dan aplikasi yang terhubung dengan perangkat IoT untuk menentukan status gizi seseorang. Instrumen PkM antara lain asesmen awal, asesmen kinerja terhadap produk modul ajar, dan angket refleksi. Analisis data menggunakan persentase berdasarkan kriteria tertentu. Hasil PkM menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru mengalami peningkatan kemampuan penggunaan IoT. Kemampuan guru menyusun modul ajar berada pada tahap siap sebesar 61,11%; 27,78% tahap mahir dan 11,11% tahap berkembang. Guru-guru memperoleh tambahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Guru melakukan tindak lanjut dengan menerapkan alat pendeteksi stunting kepada siswa. Rekomendasi untuk stakeholder untuk lebih meningkatkan kemampuan penggunaan IoT dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran dan pembelajaran IPA serta menyebarluaskan produk modul ajar kepada anggota KKM dan MGMP IPA lainnya. Satuan Pendidikan memiliki peran memberikan edukasi mengenai stunting kepada peserta didik dan masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the psychometric quality of a higher order thinking skills instrument in the topic of the human organ system for junior high school science learning. A descriptive quantitative approach was applied to analyze the validity, reliability, difficulty index, discrimination power, and distractor effectiveness. The instrument consisted of ten multiple-choice items developed based on the revised Bloom’s taxonomy at levels C4-C6. Content validity was examined by two experts using Aiken’s V, while empirical validity was tested with the Pearson Product-Moment correlation. The reliability coefficient was calculated using KR-20. The results show that the content validity values ranged from 0.83 to 0.94 (very valid), and the reliability coefficient reached 0.78 (high category). Eight items demonstrated moderate difficulty, seven items had good discrimination power, and 70 percent of distractors functioned effectively. These findings indicate that the developed HOTS instrument is psychometrically sound and feasible for strengthening 21st-century science assessment, although several items require minor revision to improve balance in difficulty and distractor performance.

Abstract

Hydrogels represent a promising alternative for plant cultivation, offering excellent water and nutrient retention. This study reports the synthesis and characterization of an agarose-based hydrogel composite enhanced with eggshell powder (ESP). The hydrogel composites were prepared in four agarose-to-ESP ratios: 10:0 (Hyd-ES0), 10:1 (Hyd-ES1), 10:3 (Hyd-ES3), and 10:5 (Hyd-ES5). Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis revealed minimal peak shifts, indicating no significant chemical modifications. Characteristic ESP peaks were identified in the composite hydrogels, confirming the effective integration of ESP into the agarose matrix. The addition of ESP reduced the decomposition rate of the hydrogels and increased macromolecular stability. Density measurements indicated higher density with increasing ESP concentration, supported by enhanced crystal formation, as evidenced by more intense diffraction peaks in X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns. Morphological analysis revealed that the porosity of the hydrogel, swelling, and weight-loss tests showed a decline in both properties with higher ESP content. Seed germination experiments demonstrated that stem, root, and leaf growth, as well as fresh and dry weights, were most optimal with the Hyd-ES1 hydrogel composite. Thus, Hyd-ES1 hydrogel exhibits significant potential as a medium for seed germination and plant growth.

Abstract

Revolusi teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) telah mengubah berbagai sektor, termasuk pembelajaran bioteknologi dan industri pangan, terutama dalam produksi kimchi, makanan fermentasi tradisional Korea. Integrasi IoT memungkinkan pemantauan dan optimalisasi proses fermentasi, meningkatkan efisiensi produksi, dan standarisasi kualitas. Kimchi, sebagai produk fermentasi kompleks, mengalami perubahan biokimia yang menghasilkan alkohol, dan kontrol yang tepat atas kadar alkohol diperlukan untuk menjaga kualitas, keamanan, dan umur simpan produk. Penerapan sensor IoT memungkinkan deteksi alkohol secara real-time selama fermentasi kimchi. Penelitian ini bertujuan memetakan tren riset dalam pembelajaran bioteknologi berbasis IoT untuk deteksi alkohol pada kimchi melalui analisis bibliometrik menggunakan VOSviewer dan Biblioshiny. Metodologi ini mengidentifikasi cluster penelitian utama, menganalisis evolusi topik, memetakan jaringan kolaborasi internasional dan interdisipliner, serta mengungkap kesenjangan penelitian dan area potensial untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi peneliti, pengembang teknologi, dan pembuat kebijakan dalam strategi pengembangan dan regulasi bioteknologi pangan berbasis IoT.

Abstract

Learning Management System (LMS) was an alternative learning where teachers and students interacted systematically. Besides, LMS also described the digitalization solutions of the education system. This study aimed to analyze the pedagogical aspects of LMS Edulogy. The research meth-od used was a case study on two LMS Edulogy dashboards, namely the dashboard of the vice principal of curriculum and the dashboard of the teacher. In addition, user responses were also collected by distributing questionnaires to 144 teachers and 8 vice-principals of the curriculum. The results showed that the LMS Edulogy was quite good at facilitating the vice principal of the curriculum and teachers in carrying out their duties. As many as 64.44 percent of the duties of the vice principal of curriculum and 60 percent of the duties of the teachers have been facilitated in LMS Edulogy. Overall, the level of satisfaction at LMS Edulogy classified as good where 75 percent of the vice principal in the curriculum field are satisfied and 67.64 percent of the teachers were expressed satisfaction. The results of this study were expected to be a reference for the next development related to LMS and become a consideration for using LMS Edulogy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran eksperimen fermentasi kulit apel Fuji (Malus domestica) dalam meningkatkan literasi halal siswa. Pendekatan pre-experimental dengan rancangan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design digunakan penelitian ini menggunakan. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 40 siswa kelas IX I SMPN 4 Rancaekek yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Perlakuan berupa pembelajaran eksperimen fermentasi kulit apel Fuji (Malus domestica) yang mengintegrasikan praktikum, analisis sensorik, dan prinsip literasi halal. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes literasi halal berbentuk pilihan ganda yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran serta lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Instrumen penelitian telah memenuhi uji validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda, tingkat kesukaran, dan efektivitas pengecoh. Data dianalisis menggunakan N-Gain untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan siswa, dilanjutkan dengan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, uji homogenitas Levene's Test, Paired Sample t-test, dan Effect Size pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai meningkat dari 54,10 pada pretest menjadi 74,28 pada posttest, dengan N-Gain = 0,433 (43,3%) berkategori sedang. Data berdistribusi normal (Sig. > α), homogen (Sig. = 0,621), serta menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara pretest dan posttest (Sig. = 0,00). Nilai Effect Size = 0,74 menunjukkan pengaruh sedang, sehingga pembelajaran eksperimen fermentasi kulit apel Fuji (Malus domestica) pada penelitian selanjutnya perlu menerapkan desain eksperimen yang melibatkan kelompok kontrol dan jumlah sampel yang lebih besar untuk memperoleh dasar ilmiah yang lebih kuat. Selain itu, penerapannya pada berbagai materi IPA perlu dikaji guna mengevaluasi pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis, pengambilan keputusan, dan literasi halal siswa.

Abstract

Abstract This research is motivated by the low problem-solving ability of students and the dominance of low-level cognitive instruments (LOTS) compiled by teachers, which often fail to accurately measure high reasoning power. The purpose of this study is to analyze the empirical validity of problem-solving-based science assessment instruments on electrical, magnetic, and alternative energy materials. The research method used was quantitative descriptive involving 32 students in grade IX. Data were collected through multiple-choice test instruments and analyzed using the Anates 4.0.9 program and SPSS to measure validity, reliability, difficulty level (ITK), and differentiating power (IDB). The results showed that 65% of the questions were declared empirically valid with a very high reliability coefficient of 0.870. The level of difficulty was dominated by the medium category (60%), but it was found that 35% of the questions had poor discriminating power. Qualitative findings from expert validators also reveal gaps in the synchronization between indicators and image stimuli in magnetic matter. It can be concluded that this instrument meets the requirements for strong measurement regularity, but requires improvements in the synchronization aspect of contextual stimuli to measure high-level thinking skills (HOTS). Overall, 55% of the questions are suitable for immediate use, 30% need revision, and 15% must be discarded.
