Abstract

The moderation value integration is sensitive for religion-based educational institutions, mainly for madrasahs, in Surakarta in preventing the social conflicts among different ethnics, races, and religions. The last five-times changes of the national curriculum at high schools, since 2004, have brought about schools and teachers’ barriers in integrating the moderation values to their English teaching and learning process. This paper explores the English teachers’ barriers in integrating the moderation values in their teaching and learning activities amid the curriculum changes. The data were taken qualitatively using interviews and observations to English teachers and headmasters of the two best madrasahs, MAN 1 and MAN 2, in Surakarta. The triangulated data were analyzed using Analytic Induction into eight kinds of teachers’ barriers. The findings show that the teachers have four areas of barriers: a) low moderation value literacy and no manuals; b) past failure experiences; c) moderation integration as a new habit; d) learning English and moderation value achievement imbalances. They have no barrier in four areas:  a) the expertise shift; b) the school power relations; c) the interpersonal relationships; d) the human resource replacement. This research helps the schools and teachers in identifying and solving the eight areas of barriers in implementing new change of curriculum, mainly in integrating the moderation values. These findings imply that school and teachers’ readiness and creativity are basic in integrating moderation values amid the curriculum changes.

Abstract

The lack of teacher competence in making creative and informative learning media makes the learning atmosphere less pleasant. This study aims to describe the use of pop-ups in Indonesian language learning at the Al-Qur`an Learning Center (TPA). This research belongs to the type of descriptive qualitative using a classroom action research (PTK) approach. This research was conducted in August-November 2019. The stages of the research include: 1) introducing pop-ups and their manufacturing techniques, 2) the teacher applies them in Indonesian language learning activities at the TPA, and 3) describes the effectiveness of pop-up media in learning activities. The results showed that pop-up media was very effective to be applied in learning activities at the TPA. The increase in students' reading and writing skills occurs because pop-ups make students enthusiastic in learning activities.Kurangnya kompetensi guru dalam membuat media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan informatif membuat suasana pembelajaran menjadi kurang menyenangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan pop up pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur`an (TPA). Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilakukan Agustus—November 2019. Tahapan penelitian, meliputi: 1) mengenalkan pop up dan teknik pembuatannya, 2) guru menerapkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di TPA, dan 3) mendeskripsikan keefektifan media pop up dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pop up sangat efektif diterapkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di TPA. Peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam membaca dan menulis terjadi karena pop up membuat siswa antusias dalam kegiatan belajar.

Abstract

This research explores the variation of greetings in Indonesian Textbook Class X Revised Edition by using Sociolinguistic approach. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of greetings and identify the factors that influence their use in the learning context. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of reading and recording, and analyzed using Spradley's model. The findings of this study show that there are six forms of greeting variations, namely proper names, persona pronomina, kinship, title, rank or position, and profession. In addition, the selection of greetings is influenced by situational factors, age, social status, familiarity, and kinship. This finding confirms that the variety of greetings in textbooks reflects the social and cultural dynamics of society, and has an important role in supporting effective, contextual, and polite Indonesian language learning. This research contributes to the development of teaching materials towards social context and communication.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metode pembelajaran yang terdapat dalam Buku Bahasa Indonesia Kelas IX terbitan Kemendikbud tahun 2022 serta menilai relevansinya terhadap tujuan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia dan prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi (content analysis) berdasarkan kerangka teori Richards dan Rodgers yang mencakup aspek approach, design, dan procedure. Data penelitian berupa aktivitas pembelajaran yang terdapat dalam enam bab buku teks. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa buku teks ini memuat berbagai metode pembelajaran, yaitu Inquiry-Based Learning, Cooperative Learning, Active Learning, Direct Instruction, Project-Based Learning (PjBL), Discovery Learning, dan Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Metode-metode tersebut dinilai relevan karena mampu mendukung pengembangan keterampilan berbahasa reseptif dan produktif, meningkatkan partisipasi siswa, berpikir kritis, kreativitas, kolaborasi, serta pembelajaran kontekstual. Namun, implementasi metode pembelajaran aktif masih menghadapi kendala berupa keterbatasan fasilitas, alokasi waktu, heterogenitas kemampuan siswa, manajemen kelas, serta kompetensi guru. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi adaptif berupa pemanfaatan media sederhana, diferensiasi pembelajaran, penguatan manajemen kelas, dan peningkatan kompetensi guru. Secara keseluruhan, Buku Bahasa Indonesia Kelas IX terbitan Kemendikbud tahun 2022 memiliki kualitas pedagogis yang baik dan relevan sebagai acuan pembelajaran, meskipun efektivitas penerapannya bergantung pada kondisi sekolah dan kesiapan guru.
