Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan media mobile learning tema sistem imun yang layak sebagai media pembelajaran Biologi SMA kelas XI, serta mengungkapkan pengaruh  media mobile learning materi sistem imun terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemandirian belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan sintesis dari model ADDIE tipe Clark dan model Carey. Penelitian melalui tahapan mengidentifikasi potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, mendesain produk, validasi pakar, revisi, uji coba produk skala terbatas, revisi, dan uji coba skala luas sehingga dihasilkan produk final. Uji coba skala terbatas dilakukan pada 30 siswa  SMA N 5 Yogyakarta dan uji coba skala luas dilakukan pada 60 siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian yaitu hasil penilaian pakar media dan pakar materi menunjukkan bahwa media mobile learning tema sistem imun sangat layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada kelas XI SMA, serta hasil uji coba menunjukkan bahwa media mobile learning berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemandirian belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kondisi edafik, hubungan antara kondisi edafik dan keanekaragaman organisme tanah, serta perbedaan keanekaragaman organisme tanah pada berbagai ekosistem rhizosfer gulma Siam (Chromolaena odorata) yang tumbuh di lahan vulkanik, pesisir, dan karst. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengambil sampel tanah dari ekosistem rhizosfer gulma Siam di lahan vulkanik, karst, dan pesisir Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta; mengamati komposisi organisme tanah di laboratorium, yaitu collembola, nematoda, dan mikoriza. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanah pada rhizosfer gulma Siam yang tumbuh di lahan karst menunjukkan tingkat kesuburan tertinggi yang ditunjukkan oleh kandungan N, K, dan C-organik tanah, sedangkan tanah pesisir memiliki kandungan P tertinggi. Tekstur tanah pada rhizosfer gulma Siam lebih berpengaruh terhadap keanekaragaman organisme tanah dibandingkan kandungan hara tanah dan sifat tanah lainnya yang diteliti. Keragaman organisme tanah rhizosfer gulma Siam lebih besar di lahan pesisir dibandingkan di lahan karst dan vulkanik. Implikasi dari hasil tersebut adalah bahwa tanah dengan tekstur berpasir akan lebih bermanfaat bagi pertumbuhan gulma Siam dengan keanekaragaman organisme rhizosfer yang lebih tinggi.ORGANISM DIVERSITY IN THE RHIZOSPHERE OF SIAM WEEDS IN VOLCANIC, COASTAL AND KARST LANDThe research aims to compare the edaphic condition, the relationship between the edaphic condition and soil organism diversity, and the differences of soil organism diversity in different rhizosphere ecosystems of Siam weed growing in volcanic, coastal and karts areas. The research was conducted by taking soil samples from the Siam weed rhizosphere ecosystems in volcanic, karst and coastal areas of the Special Region of Yogyakarta and observing the composition of the soil organisms in the laboratory, including collembola, nematode, and mycorrhiza. The results find that soil from rhizosphere of Siam weed growing in karst area shows the highest level of fertility indicated by the N, K, and C-organic contents of the soil, whereas soil from coastal area has the highest P content. Soil texture in the rhizosphere of Siam weed has more effect on the diversity of soil organisms than the soil nutrient content and other soil properties investigated. The diversity of soil organisms of Siam weed rhizosphere is greater in coastal area than those in karst and volcanic areas. The implication of the results is that soil with a sandy texture will be more beneficial for the growth of Siam weed with a higher diversity of rhizosphere organisms

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi jenis tanaman barier terhadap dinamika populasi serangga hama pada tanaman padi dan produktivitas tanaman padi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian UGM Banguntapan Bantul. Variabel bebas dari penelitian ini adalah perlakuan variasi tanaman barier yaitu kontrol (tanpa barier), gulma alami, bunga matahari, dan bunga kenikir. Variabel terikatnya adalah dinamika populasi serangga hama dan produktivitas tanaman padi. Pengamatan serangga hama dan musuh alaminya dilakukan terbatas pada pagi hari antara pukul 08.00-11.00 dengan metode scan sampling yang dilakukan pada 3 minggu sekali. Data produktivitas tanaman padi yang diambil meliputi berat kering gabah hasil panen per plot perlakuan. Untuk melihat pengaruh perlakuan variasi jenis tanaman barier terhadap populasi serangga hama tanaman padi dan produktivitas tanaman padi dilakukan uji ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari pengaruh variasi jenis tanaman barier terhadap perbedaan dinamika populasi serangga hama maupun terhadap produktivitas tanaman padi, tetapi perlu diadakan penelitian lanjutan yang dikaitkan dengan variabel lain yang mempengaruhi produktivitas tanaman padi.THE EFFECT OF BARRIER PLANT VARIATION AS NATURAL PEST CONTROL ON PEST POPULATION AND RICE PRODUCTIONThis study was aimed at analyzing the effect of the barrier plant variation to the population dynamic of rice pest insect and on rice crop productivity. The study was conducted in the experimental Garden of Faculty of Agriculture of Gadjah Mada University in Banguntapan Bantul. The independent variable was the treatment of barrier plant variation, i.e. control (without barrier), natural weed, sunflower and kenikir flower plants, while the dependent variables were population dynamic of pest insect and rice crop productivity. Pest insects and their natural enemies observation was carried out in between 08.00-11.00 am by scan sampling every 3 weeks. The retrieval of crop productivity data was done when the harvest per treatment plot. The data obtained was then tested with ANOVA, to find out the effect of the treatments on population dynamic of rice crop pest, as well as rice crop productivity. The results show that there was no significant difference in the effect of barrier plant variation to the differences in population dynamic of pest insects; as well as in the productivity of rice crop, but it is necessary to conduct advanced research that is associated with other variables that affect rice crop productivity.

Abstract

Karangmalang and Kuningan are the area located near the campus ofYogyakarta State University and Gadjah Mada University. This causes the twoareas have crowded population. Many students from outside of Sleman Yogyakarta stay in many boarding houses that need laundry service since they do not have enough time and are very busy of studying activities. There are approximately 30 laundry service businesses in these areas. The condition has positive impact on local people income generating. However, it also cause adverse effects on the environment because of the laundry waste water directly discharged into the environment without prior treatment. The priority problem to solve is the disposal of waste water and dissemination of eco-friendly detergen. We had “Sekar Laundry” and “Ramadhani Laundry”as our partners in this programme. To achieve the objectives of the project we carried out the following methods: (1) socialization, counseling, and training for the introduction of ecofriendly detergents and simple sewage treatment; and (2) the application of appropriate technology of waste water treatment based on fitoremediation for both partners. The results obtained were in accordance with the purposes. We could overcome the environmental pollution caused by waste water of laundry activities. Based on laboratory tests, laundry waste water from the outlet of the Waste Water Treatment Plant (the WWTP) had significantly quality improvement that it made safer to be discharged into the environment, with 27,125% of BOD decline efficiency, 120,350% of COD decline efficiency, 17,300% of TSS decline efficiency, 11,597% of detergent decline efficiency, and 88% of phosphate decline efficiency

Abstract

Diversity of macrofungi is widely studied because of its role as decomposer, and highly reported of its potentially using for foods, agricultures, medicinal purposes, and bioremediation. This study was carried out to consider sampling methods for macrofungi exploration especially in Turgo tropical forest ecosystem. There were two sampling method models which adequately bring our macrofungi collection to have valid data. The first is adaptive sampling which includes fixed-size plots where prior we decided how many tracks, plots, or what size to examine at each site to help keeping our focus on track. By having a fixed plot, we allowed ourselves to find our macrofungi and work on the identification process thoroughly without racing against the time as much. Then we can obtain frequency, distribution, density and others ecological quantitative data by sampling plots. Another way, we can choose opportunistic sampling, we mean carefully walking on through chosen site as study area and collecting conspicuous sporocarp of macrofungi. This method needs no plots and does not produce any quantitative data but looking for many more diversity on macrofungi. The way of sampling, depends on the duration of observation and the purposes of the research. According to the consideration result, we concluded to choose the adaptive sampling method to explore the macrofungi in Turgo tropical forest ecosystem.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the AIR (Auditory, Intellectualy Reppetition) model combined video media on the interest in learning of Banguntapan 2 High School students. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research and research desaign using the design group control pretest-posttest. The method used is a quasi-experimental method, the data collection technique used is a non-test technique (questionnaire). The result of the study based on the learning interest questionnaire given to students showed that the AIR model combined video media is effective to increase students’ interest in learning, was based on the result of data analysis which showed that there were significant differences between students given learning with conventional models and students given learning with the AIR model combined video media.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas model AIR (Auditory Intellectualy Repetition) dipadu media video terhadap minat belajar siswa SMA N 2 Banguntapan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dan desain penelitian menggunakan pretest-posttest control grup design. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimen), teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik non tes (angket). Hasil penelitian berdasarkan angket minat belajar yang diberikan kepada siswa menunjukkan bahwa model AIR dipadu media video efektif untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa, hal tersebut didasari oleh hasil analisis data yang menunjukan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang diberikan pembelajaran dengan model konvensional dan siswa yang diberikan pembelajaran dengan model AIR dipadu media video.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of developing e-modules based on this contextual approach is to determine the quality, feasibility, and effectiveness of the developed e-modules. This research uses ADDIE model divided into five stages, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this study are e-modules based on a contextual approach to the reflex movement, the average overall evaluation criteria are very good, namely media experts by 84%, learning experts by 84%, biology teachers by 69%, small class trials by 80% and large.Abstrak: Tujuan dari pengembangan e-modul berbasis pendekatan kontekstual ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas, kelayakan, dan keefektifan e-modul yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model ADDIE terbagi lima tahap, yaitu analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evalution. Hasil penelitian ini berupa e-modul berbasis pendekatan kontekstual pada sub materi gerak refleks, rata-rata penilaian keseluruhan kriteria sangat baik yaitu ahli media sebesar 84%, ahli pembelajaran sebesar 84%, guru biologi sebesar 69%, uji coba kelas kecil sebesar 80%dan uji coba kelas besar sebanyak 74%. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian tersebut, e-modul berbasis pendekatan kontekstual pada sub materi gerak refleks sangat layak digunakan sebagai media/bahan ajar di sekolah.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of guided-inquiry model on critical thinking skills and problem solving about material changes in the environment. This research was done by using quasi-experiment with post-test only design. Besides, this research used four research classes that are the experiment two class which is given the treatment of guided-inquiry model and control two class which is given the treatment of conventional model. The population used in this study was tenth grade students of science major at SMAN 2 Ngaglik, that is chosen randomly. Data collection techniques used are test and observation. The results showed that the guided-inquiry model improved critical thinking and problem solving skills. This is based on the results of test data analysis which shows a significant difference between students in the experimental class and student class control.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efektivitas model guided-inquiry pada keterampilan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah tentang perubahan materi di lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan eksperimen semu dengan desain post-test only. Selain itu, penelitian ini menggunakan empat kelas penelitian,  yaitu dua kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan model guided-inquiry dan dua kelas kontrol yang diberi perlakuan model konvensional. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIPA di SMAN 2 Ngaglik yang dipilih secara acak. teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model guided-inquiry meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah. Hal tersebut didasari oleh hasil uji analisis data yang menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Abstract: This aim of this study was to determine effectiveness of using problem posing model combined with recitation method on student’s conceptual understanding. The method of this study is quasy experiment with pretest-posttest control group design, with control and experiment groups. The data analysis technique used was independent t-test and continued with an analysis of N-gain value to determine effectiveness. The results showed a significant difference between the posttest values of the control group and the experiment group with a significance value of 0,000 (α = 0.05). The results of the analysis of N-gain values showed that problem posing model combined with recitation method is more effective for student's conceptual understanding.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan model problem posing dipadu metode resitasi terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design, dengan grup kontrol dan eksperimen. Tekhnik analisis data yang digunakan adalah independent t-test dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis nilai N-gain untuk mengetahui efektivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai posttest grup kontrol dan eksperimen dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (α= 0,05). Hasil analisis nilai N-gain menunjukkan bahwa model problem posing dipadu metode resitasi lebih efektif terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa.

Abstract

West Kalimantan has great potential of forests and indigenous people. Therefore, it is crucial to study on forest management by indigenous people. The study is aimed at analyzing the forest management carried out by the Dayak Katab Kebahan community; and the condition of the forest ecosystem. The research area is in Melawi Regency, West Kalimantan. Observations and in-depth interviews were conducted to explore the customs in managing forests. A vegetation survey using purposive sampling was performed. The fauna study was conducted by the exploration method. Vegetation data analysis was carried out by calculating the importance value and diversity indices. One-way ANOVA analysis was done to determine the presence of forest ecosystem differences between two forests. The findings showed forest managed by the Dayak Katab Kebahan community has a core zone which is a zone that should not be disturbed, and a cultivation zone which can be utilized and can be intercropped with plantation crops; and the forest ecosystem managed by the Dayak Katab Kebahan community has a higher fauna richness, vegetation diversity index and the importance value index of each species. It is suggested that the government be involved in supporting the customary law of local communities in forest conservation.
