Abstract

Keberhasilan pembangunan nasional suatu bangsa ditentukan oleh ketersediaan sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang berkualitas. Kekurangan gizi dan tidak sehat dapat merusak kualitas SDM. Urusan kesehatan merupakan urusan lingkungan, sikap, dan perilaku masyarakat. Di Sumedang, gizi buruk dan yang terjangkit penyakit setiap tahunnya terus meningkat. Masalah tersebut dapat diidentifikasi sebagai berikut: (1) masyarakat memerlukan penyuluhan tentang gizi. (2) Masyarakat perlu pemahaman, pengertian, pencegahan penyakit yang dapat menjadi wabah dalam keluarganya. Adapun hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Masyarakat bukan tidak peduli masalah kesehatan tetapi terkadang terlupakan oleh kesibukannya dalam kehidupan, dengan demikian penyuluhan secara berkala melalui pendekatan kekeluargaan perlu terus dilanjutkan. (2) Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi keadaan kesehatan dan gizi masyarakat, tidak sekadar persoalan kelemahan ekonomi, tetapi multifaktor yang sangat erat jalinannya. Oleh karenanya pemerintah harus dapat mengatasi permasalahan dengan berbagai pendekatan, dan multipandang. Sehingga dapat diselesaikan secara komprehensif dan tepat guna. (3) Masyarakat umumnya lebih memerlukan contoh dan pembuktian daripada sekadar teori. (4) Faktor keengganan masyarakat untuk melaporkan kejadian menyangkut kesehatan dan gizi kepada kader, merupakan hambatan tersendiri di masyarakat. Demikian juga perilaku aparat yang sering menutupi keadaan masyarakat yang mengalami kekurangan gizi dan kesehatan merupakan kendala yang perlu disadari oleh semua pihak. Masyarakat harus dibiasakan berani mengadu dan bertanya bila ada permasalahan gizi dan kesehatan. Pemerintah pun tidak perlu takut bila mendapati warganya menderita sakit atau kurang gizi untuk sesegera mungkin ditanggulangi.

Abstract

Mahasiswa UPI Kampus Sumedang dengan kemampuan strategisnya membuat, mengemas dan memasarkan sebuah produk dengan pangsa pasar teman sekelas minimalnya, sampai dosen dan seluruh tenaga kependidikan adalah sebuah entitas potensial yang perlu diberi perhatian. Perlu dipikirkan dan dipetakan upaya untuk mewujudkan kondisi ideal mahasiswa yang berjiwa entrepreneur, tanpa mengganggu aktivitas mereka sebagai mahasiswa. Pada akhirnya, para usahawan muda ini perlu dilatih untuk berpikir taktis, berprinsip kerja cerdas, berbuat jelas, bertindak tegas. Program ini bertajuk 5T (Tips, Trik, Tenure, and Tact to Trade) bermaksud memberikan pelatihan intensif untuk mewujudkan wirausahawan muda kampus yang potensial dan inovatif serta berjiwa entrepreneur.

Abstract

Background Problems: Self-regulation, which includes positive behavior, metacognitive awareness, and motivation, is critical to adolescents' development.  Despite its benefits in structured activities such as martial arts, there is a lack of existing tools to assess self-regulation among adolescent martial arts participants. This study addresses this gap by developing an instrument to measure adolescents' self-regulation abilities. Research Objectives: This research aims to adapt an instrument in the form of a questionnaire to measure self-regulation in martial arts activities. Methods: The author uses the cross-cultural adaptation method. Adapting research instruments is not just a language change. There is an aspect of cross-cultural adaptation that is important so that the research instrument can measure what it should measure (valid) and be reliable (consistent in measurement). A total of 58 participants were involved in three stages of instrument validity, consisting of 21 pencak silat students, 18 karate students, and 19 taekwondo students who were selected proportionally. Findings/Results: After data analysis, the results of this research are 67 SR-MAQ question items declared valid and reliable. Conclusion: The development of the SR-MAQ instrument allows for the measurement of the self-regulation of teenage martial arts practitioners, contributing to their positive development. To expand the utility and generalisability of this instrument, we need further research involving a wider age range and participants from different types of martial arts. This will not only increase the relevance of the findings but also provide richer insights into the role of self-regulation in various adolescent activity contexts.

Abstract

Smash performance is a key determinant of scoring effectiveness in college volleyball; however, research that simultaneously examines the combined contribution of lower and upper body physical components in a single regression model at the university athlete level is still limited. This study aims to determine the relationship between jump height, arm muscle strength, and arm muscle explosive power with volleyball smash performance. A quantitative correlational design was used, involving 20 athletes from the Indonesian University of Education Sumedang Campus Student Volleyball Activity Unit, selected using Purposive Sampling technique. The instruments used included a vertical jump test, push-up test, medicine ball throw test, and smash accuracy test. Assumption testing was conducted prior to hypothesis testing, including normality and multicollinearity testing. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The results of the study show a significant simultaneous relationship between vertical jump height, arm muscle strength, and arm muscle explosive power with smash performance (F = 222.621; p < 0.001), with an adjusted R² value of 0.972, indicating that 97.2% of the variance in smash performance is collectively explained by these three variables. Partially, arm muscle strength showed a significant relationship with smash performance (p < 0.001), while vertical jump height (p = 0.333) and arm muscle power (p = 0.597) did not show a significant partial relationship. These findings indicate that although physical components collectively contribute to smash performance, arm muscle strength emerges as the most dominant predictor among university-level volleyball athletes.

Abstract

Adolescent behavior in training environments still shows a tendency toward aggression. This situation is important to examine, given its potential conflict with the philosophical values ​​of pencak silat, which emphasize self-control, discipline, and courage. This study aims to analyze forms of gender-based negative aggressiveness behavior in members aged 12-15 years, as well as analyze the role of coaches in fostering and managing aggressive behavior. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research subjects consist of members who are actively practicing aged 12-15 years, parents, and coaches. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Then, it is analyzed through continuous data reduction, data presentation, and verification, with the help of Nvivo12 software. The results showed that aggressiveness was manifested in the form of verbal aggressiveness, physical aggressiveness, anger, and hostility, with verbal aggressiveness being the most dominant based on interviews and observations. Meanwhile, the results of the questionnaire showed that the tendency of aggressiveness was in the low to medium category. There is a difference in aggressiveness based on gender, where male members show a higher tendency than women. Coaches play a role through direct reprimands, punishment, and instilling the values of the panca dharma, as a preventive strategy. This research contributes to enriching the study of adolescent aggressiveness in the context of value-based martial arts, as well as providing implications for character development in the training environment.

Abstract

Excessive gadget use among elementary school students is a growing educational and health concern because it can disrupt the balance between academic learning, physical activity, and social-emotional development. This study analyzed the academic ability and physical activity of excessive gadget users in several elementary schools in Rancakalong District using a convergent parallel mixed-methods design guided by the PRECEDE-PROCEED framework. Quantitative data were obtained from an academic ability test, a Likert-scale screening instrument, and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF), whereas qualitative data were collected through observations and interviews with students, parents, and teachers. The quantitative sample consisted of 52 students in grades IV, V, and VI, and six students were purposively selected for in-depth IPAQ-SF and qualitative analysis. The mean academic score was 8.33 out of 20 and was significantly below the minimum competency standard of 12 (t(51) = -11.36; p < 0.001); only four students (7.69%) reached proficiency. IPAQ-SF results showed 5 participants (83.3%) in the moderate physical activity category and 1 participant (16.7%) in the low category, but sitting time remained high at 3-7 hours per day. Qualitative findings explained this active-sedentary paradox through concentration problems, physical discomfort, instant gratification, inconsistent parental mediation, and school-level regulation. The study suggests that excessive gadget use is associated with low academic achievement and unbalanced daily patterns, requiring integrated digital literacy, active learning, parental mediation, and school-based physical activity interventions.

Abstract

Penggunaan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi secara efektif sebagai pendekatan untuk mencapai kemerdekaan dalam proses belajar mengajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menginvestigasi dan mengidentifikasi sejauh mana penggunaan pendekatan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi efektif dalam mencapai kemerdekaan belajar bagi siswa, dengan mengevaluasi pengaruhnya terhadap motivasi intrinsik, penguasaan materi, partisipasi aktif, dan kemandirian dalam mengembangkan potensi individu secara optimal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif, subjek penelitiannya adalah peserta didik kelas VI D SD Negeri Baros Mandiri 4 yang terdiri 12 siswa laki-laki dan 14 siswa perempuan. Pengambilan subjek penelitian melalui data yang diperoleh dengan mengambil data dan fakta yang diperoleh langsung di lapangan. Data yang dikumpulkan berdasarkan hasil-hasil tindakan yang diberikan kepada subjek penelitian dengan menganalisis dampak yang dihasilkan dari tindakan tersebut. Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi membantu menciptakan lingkungan kelas yang inklusif, di mana setiap peserta didik merasa dihargai dan didukung. Ketika peserta didik merasa bahwa guru memahami dan menghargai keunikan mereka, mereka cenderung merasa lebih termotivasi dan percaya diri dalam belajar. Tujuan penelitian pembelajaran berdiferensiasi ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar dampak yang ditimbulkan terhadap hasil belajar. Studi ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menerapkan dasar-dasar pemikiran beberapa ilmuan yang daikumpulkan menjadi daftar pustaka. Berdasarkan kajian jurnal maka diperoleh hasil yang menunjukkan bahwa melalui pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang mengedepakan kemerdekaan dalam belajar peserta didik dapat mengeksperikan minat dan bakat mereka.
