Abstract

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a non-pharmacological therapy method used to reduce pain, including in burn patients. Burns cause complex pain, both acute and chronic, thus requiring multidisciplinary management. This study is a literature review aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) in reducing pain in burn patients. Data were collected from 10 scientific articles published within the last ten years, including clinical studies, pilot studies, and meta-analyses. The review findings indicate that Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is effective in reducing pain intensity, accelerating wound healing, improving sleep quality, and decreasing the need for pharmacological analgesics. Additionally, the use of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) has been reported as safe and does not cause significant side effects. However, most of the analyzed studies still have limitations, such as small sample sizes and short intervention durations. Therefore, further research with stronger experimental designs is needed to strengthen clinical evidence and support the implementation of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) as part of pain management in burn patients.

Abstract

The proliferation of online learning platforms has made it increasingly difficult for students to choose a platform that best meets their needs. This study aims to prioritize online learning platforms based on student needs using the Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The criteria used in the analysis were ease of use, variety of courses, cost, and reputation of instructors. The results of the analysis indicate that edX is the most suitable online learning platform for students based on the criteria and weights used in the study. Coursera, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning were also evaluated in the analysis and may be suitable for students with specific priorities or preferences. The MCDA TOPSIS method provides a transparent and objective approach to evaluating the alternatives and offers insights into the strengths and weaknesses of each platform. The results of this study can help students make more informed decisions and choose a platform that best meets their individual needs. However, the choice of criteria and weights may vary depending on the preferences and priorities of different students, and the results should be interpreted accordingly

Public understanding in Indonesia about the benefits of MCH books is still low, so there is a lack of knowledge among mothers to recognize the signs and dangers of pregnancy due to low resources resulting in bleeding, malnutrition, hypertension, infection, rupture of membranes, lack of fetal movement and other complications suffered by mothers before pregnancy. One of the government's efforts to overcome this problem is by issuing a maternal and child health guidebook so that it can be read and other programs such as outreach related to KIA books. The number of samples in this study was 30 and the population was 868 people. Respondents were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The statistical test used the Wilcoxon test. The results were obtained from the pre test. 16.63 and post test 26.76 results show a p-value of 0.000 (>0.05). Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the provision of health education about the benefits of MCH books during pregnancy.

Abstract

As a specific breastfeeding practice, the proportion of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia remains below the intended indicator. Education about breastfeeding techniques aims to increase success in providing exclusive breastfeeding by increasing mothers' knowledge and skills in breastfeeding their babies. The goal of this study is to find out how the Jambi City Health Center's breastfeeding education program affects moms' confidence and nursing behavior. Mothers who had just given birth or were nursing their babies participated in this study. Using a control group and a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-test measures, the study used a quantitative methodology. Using accidental sampling, 25 respondents from the treatment and control groups made up the sample. The variables measured are maternal behavior and self-efficacy. The measuring instruments used were the breastfeeding action instrument and the BSES-FS. The treatment group's behavioral results produced a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05) according to statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test, while the control group's p-value was 0.629 (>0.05). In a similar vein, the treatment group's p-value for self-efficacy outcomes was 0.001 (<0.05), but the control group's was 0.122 (>0.05). These findings imply that nursing moms' behavior and self-efficacy are significantly impacted by teaching packages on breastfeeding procedures delivered by video and booklet medium. In particular, compared to the control group that did not get the intervention, the treatment group, who did receive the intervention, exhibited improved behavior and greater levels of self-efficacy.
