Abstract

This study aimed to describe: 1) the school supervisors' plan for the online supervision at Elementary Schools in Kabupaten Rokan Hilir, 2) the implementation of online supervision conducted by the school supervisors at Elementary Schools in Kabupaten Rokan Hilir, 3) the evaluation of the result of online supervision at Elementary Schools in Kabupaten Rokan Hilir. This study was descriptive qualitative research with descriptive qualitative data. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and online documents. Informants/subjects in the study were the principals and teachers. This study was carried out by using WhatsApp, Google Form, and Zoom applications. Findings in this study included: 1) The average percentage of the school supervisors' success in planning the online supervision was 77% with the Sufficient category; 2) The online supervision was conducted from September 8 to September 11, 2021, with an average success rate of 81%, which was in the "Good" category; and 3) The evaluation of the results of online supervision indicated that some teachers were able to carry out the preliminary activities, main activities, and post activities properly, based on the guidelines. This study concluded that the online supervision conducted by the school supervisors at Elementary School in Kabupaten Rokan Hilir followed the established criteria and systematics. The technology mastery, especially using WhatsApp, Google Form, and Zoom applications, was crucial for teachers, principals, and school supervisors

Abstract

Pembelajaran bahasa inggris belum maksimal karena kurangnya penerapan bahasa inggris tersebut dalam bentuk komunikasi atau berbicara dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris baik itu di dalam kelas maupun di lingkungan sekolah dari program berbahasa Inggris dalam satu hari penuh (English Day). Berdasarkan hasil temuan dari wawancara beberapa orang guru termasuk guru bahasa inggris di SMP Indonesian Creative School Pekanbaru, masalah yang paling penting adalah siswa malu dan takut dalam berkomunikasi dengan guru-guru mereka sendiri pada hari yang sudah ditentukan dalam English Day.

Abstract

This article analyzes the effect of school principal supervision and compensation on elementary school teachers’ performance in Simpang Kanan, Rokan Hilir. The study used a survey method with correlational techniques involving 115 teachers. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation and analyzed using SPSS version 20 with product-moment correlation. The results showed that principal supervision and compensation had a positive but not significant effect on teachers’ performance individually. However, simultaneously, principal supervision and compensation had a significant positive effect on teachers’ performance (Fcount = 19.091 > Ftable = 3.08, p < 0.05).

Abstract

This quantitative study aims to examine students’ preparedness for teaching at the Social Science Education Department, FKIP, Universitas Riau. The research involved 68 active PIPS students selected through simple random sampling from a population of 211 students. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques with SPSS version 24. The results show that teaching motivation was in the very good category (51%), while teaching preparedness was in the very good category (60%). Furthermore, teaching motivation contributed 59% to teaching preparedness, while the remaining 41% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study, such as interest, intellectual capacity, and perception. The analysis also indicated a positive relationship between teaching motivation and preparedness, where an increase of one unit in teaching motivation corresponded to a one-unit increase in teaching preparedness. The study concludes that teaching motivation significantly influences students’ preparedness for teaching as prospective educators.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze (1) the reasons for the teachers of SD Negeri Medang Kampai in implementing PKB, (2) the efforts of teachers in implementing PKB, (3) the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of PKB, (4) the efforts of the teachers of SD Negeri Medang Kampai in implementing PKB. The research data sources were five principals and forty-seven elementary school teachers in Medang Kampai District. The data collection technique used observation, interview and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that (1) the reasons for teachers to follow PKB were to add insight, knowledge, creativity and improve professional competence, orders from school principals, and for promotion, (2) the efforts of teachers in implementing PKB were to follow seriously, 3) the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation (PKB) that come from the Office, the school and themselves, (4) the efforts of teachers in overcoming obstacles to the implementation (PKB) are involving teachers in PKB activities, providing as much related information as possible, motivating teachers to continue to be enthusiastic about participating in PKB activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principals' leadership and teacher morale, either partially or simultaneously, on the discipline of elementary school teachers in Cluster XII, Dumai Timur District. The population of this study were all elementary school teachers in the Gugus XII area of ​​Dumai Timur District with a total sample of 92 respondents. Determination of the sample using the Probability Sampling technique. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that (1) There is a positive and significant influence of principal's leadership on teacher discipline. The better the principal's leadership, the more teacher discipline will increase. (2) There is a positive and significant effect of teacher work spirit on teacher discipline. The higher the work spirit of the teacher, the more the discipline of the teacher increases. (3) There is a positive and significant influence on the leadership of the principal and the work spirit of the teacher together (simultaneously) on teacher discipline. The better the leadership of the principal and the higher the work spirit of the teacher, the better the discipline of elementary school teachers in Cluster XII, Dumai Timur District.
