Abstract

This study aims to analyze all the aspects in implementing Teacher Professionalism Develoment (PKB) of the SD Negeri teachers in Medang Kampai, Dumai, Indonesia. The research data sources were five principals and forty-seven elementary school teachers in Medang Kampai District. The data collection technique used observation, interview and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that (1) the reasons for teachers to follow PKB were to add insight, knowledge, creativity, and improve professional competence, orders from school principals, and for promotion, (2) the efforts of teachers in implementing PKB were to follow seriously, 3) the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation (PKB) that come from the Office, the school and themselves, (4) the efforts of teachers in overcoming obstacles to the implementation of PKB are involving teachers in PKB activities, providing as much related information as possible, motivating teachers to continue to be enthusiastic about participating in PKB activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principals' leadership and teacher morale, either partially or simultaneously, on the discipline of elementary school teachers in Cluster XII, Dumai. The population of this study were all elementary school teachers in the Gugus XII area of Dumai Timur with a total sample of 92 respondents. Determination of the sample using the Probability Sampling technique. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that (1) There is a positive and significant influence of principal's leadership on teacher discipline. The better the principal's leadership, the more teacher discipline will increase. (2) There is a positive and significant effect of teacher work spirit on teacher discipline. The higher the work spirit of the teacher, the more the discipline of the teacher increases. (3) There is a positive and significant influence on the leadership of the principal and the work spirit of the teacher together (simultaneously) on teacher discipline. The better the leadership of the principal and the higher the work spirit of the teacher, the better the discipline of elementary school teachers in Cluster XII, Dumai Timur.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of achievementmotivation through the role of soft skills to the learning achievement. Thisresearch was conducted due to the low achievement motivation of students atEconomic Education Program Study, University of Riau. A total of 185samples were selected from 344 number of population using Yamanestatistical sampling technique. Data was collected by questionnaire anddocumentation techniques. It was then analyzed using path analysis. Theresults showed that Soft Skill played a positive role mediate that influence ofaccomplishment motivation on learning achievement. This means thatlearning achievement is not influenced by achievement motivation alone, butalso supported by soft skill as intervening variable. In order to achieveachievement motivation students should have a successful future orientedattitude. Meanwhile, to improve soft skill students must have the ability tocommunicate, adapt and build relationships obtained from the ability of ICTand foreign languages.

Abstract

The low interest of students choosing social studies majors (IPS) at the National High School is thought to be a problem that originates from within students and outside the student's self. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence students' interest in choosing a social studies major at SMA 2 Tambang, in Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPS, amounting to 170 people. The sample was determined using propotional random sampling to obtain 119 people. The data analysis technique used is Path Analysis. The results of the analysis show that the family environment and school environment have a positive and significant effect on the ideals of choosing an IPS major. School ideals and environment have a positive and significant effect on the interest in choosing an IPS major. While the family environment has a significant effect on the interest in choosing an IPS major. However, there is a negative influence of the family environment on the interest of students choosing social studies majors, due to the low level of family education. Therefore parents are expected to be able to provide support so that their children are more interested in choosing social studies majors. The school is expected to further improve socialization to add information and provide an overview to students about social studies majors.

Abstract

Low learning motivation of the student sometime it is due to the teacher has difficulty choosing the right learning media. This study was to produce powerpoint-based accounting and wondershare quiz creator multimedia to improve student learning motivation. Data collection begins with the need analysis phase. The media was validated interm of its interactive and content by the validators. The result the validator 1 and 2 obtained a score of 75 in the feasible category and the material feasibility by material expert obtained a score of 59 and 66 in the feasible category. Furthermore, the small scale test was showing that the media is useful to be used because it reaches a minimum score of> 37.5 - 48.78 (High category). The results of the analysis show that there are differences in the level of student motivation in the experimental class in the category of High of 62.5% and student motivation in the control class is in the Low category of 59.4%. Based on the results, the developed media is possible to use in the real teaching class.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that affect student achievement in the Department of Economic Education at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training of UIN Suska Riau. Population of this study was 201 students with a sample of 100 people. Data collected using questionnaire and documentation instrument. The data analysis technique used multiple regression analysis. The results showed that learning motivation has a positive and significant effect on learning achievement. The learning interest has a positive and significant effect on learning achievement. The family environment has a positive and significant effect on learning achievement, and teh learning motivation has also a positive and significant effect on learning achievement. There is a joint influence of learning motivation, interest in learning, family environment and learning models, together on learning achievement.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are a description on how students understand the material presented by the teacher. Learning outcomes are output values ​​in the form of numbers or letters obtained by students after receiving learning material through a test or exam delivered by the teacher. This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence, learning behavior, motivation on learning outcomes either simultaneously or partially. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Based on the data analysis and hypothesis testing that has been carried out in this study, the results of the research show that there is an influence of Emotional Intelligence and Learning Behavior on Motivation with a t-count of 5,912 emotional intelligence on motivation and learning behavior with a bear t count of 4.408 thus it can It is known that emotional intelligence and learning behavior affect learning motivation. The conclusions are as follows: 1) The influence of Emotional Intelligence and Learning Behavior on Motivation. 2) The influence of Emotional Intelligence and Learning Behavior, Motivation on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of income level, financial literacy, use of social media; on the consumptive behavior of teachers. The total population in this study was 127 civil servant teachers. The sampling technique used Isaac Michael's table with an error rate of 5%, the number of samples in this study was 94 teachers. The process of taking sample data using proportional random sampling technique. Data was obtained by using questionnaires and documentation methods. The collected data was then analyzed using descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The findings in this study are that there is no significant effect of the income level variable on the consumptive behavior of teachers, there is a significant influence of the financial literacy variable and the use of social media on the consumptive behavior of PNS teachers. The level of consumptive behavior is related to the financial literacy of teachers and the use of social media. So that teachers are expected to increase their level of financial literacy and reduce the intensity in using social media to minimize consumptive behavior.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the competence of the Mathematics teacher of Dumai Junior High School which is below the national average value. This study aims to analyze how much influence of achievement motivation, teacher participation, and teacher participation in MGMP together on teacher competence. To achieve this goal, this paper used a survey research type with a quantitative approach. The research population was all Mathematics teachers of Dumai for Middle School who had participated in the 2015 UKG, totaling 88 people. With the total sampling technique, the entire population was determined as a sample. The data analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence of achievement motivation on the competence of Mathematics teachers by 26.3%. There is a positive and significant effect of teacher participation in the MGMP on the competence of Junior High School Mathematics teacher by 22.5%. There is a jointly significant effect of 30.8% achievement motivation and teacher participation. The achievement motivation variable has a greater influence than the teacher participation variable. This means that the high and low competence of junior high school mathematics teachers in Dumai can be influenced by achievement motivation and teacher participation in MGMP.
