Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya korelasi antara pemahaman konsep pada materi gerak dan gaya dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah kuantitatif korelasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat dengan sampel sebanyak 30 orang siswa kelas VIIIE yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Dalam pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes untuk mengukur kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan soal tes pilihan ganda yang disusun sesuai indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep sebanyak 18 soal dan soal uraian yang disusun sesuai indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif sebanyak 8 soal. Jawaban dari siswa dianalisis dengan korelasi product moment, hasil dari analisis yang dilakukan didapat hasil koefisien korelasi rempirik= 0,716 dan rtabel= 0,361 (n = 30 dengan taraf signifikansi 5 %). Oleh karena rempirik > rtabel maka ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya korelasi antara kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi gerak dan gaya dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP Kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat dan besar korelasi 0,716 berdasarkan tabel pedoman interpretasi koefisien korelasi mengkategorikan pada tingkat korelasi yang tinggi.This study aims to determine whether or not there is a correlation between understanding the concept of motion and force with the creative thinking ability of students of SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat Class VIII. The method used in this research is quantitative correlation. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat with a sample of 30 students of class VIIIE selected by cluster random sampling technique. In collecting data using test techniques to measure the ability to understand concepts and creative thinking skills of students. The research instrument used multiple choice test questions that were arranged according to the indicators of the ability to understand concepts as many as 18 questions and the description questions arranged according to the indicators of creative thinking abilities as many as 8 questions. The students' answers were analyzed by product moment correlation, the results of the analysis obtained were r empirical correlation coefficients = 0.716 and r table = 0.361 (n = 30 with a significance level of 5%). Because r empirical > r table, it can be concluded that this study shows a correlation between students' conceptual understanding ability on motion and style material with creative thinking skills of Class VIII Junior High School students at SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat and the correlation magnitude is 0.716 based on the guideline table for interpretation of the correlation coefficient categorizes at the level of high correlation.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve creative thinking ability and to reduce misconception on ecology in the students of X MIPA 3 of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the academic of 2014/2015 through the application of e-module based on Problem-Based Learning. This research was a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of research was the X MIPA 3 graders of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the academic of 2014/2015 consisting of 9 boys and 21 girls. Techniques of collecting data used were essay test to measured creative thinking ability, open ended reasoning of two-tier diagnostic test to measure misconception, observation and interview as the proponent data. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative technique consists of three components: data reduction, data presentation, and taking the conclusion. Data validation of this research was triangulation method. Target of the research is an increase 20% on creative thinking aspects and decrease misconception 20% on ecology concepts at the end of the cycle. The result of research showed that there was an increase in each aspect of creative thinking ability: 24.68% of fluency, 34.17% of flexibility, 50% of originality, and 21.67% of elaboration. On the other side, the  result of research also showed that there was a decrease in misconception in the important concepts of ecology including: 43.42% of population, 32.78% of community, 20.6% of food chain and web, and 47.92% of the ecology concept in science, environment, technology and community (salingtemas). The conclusion of this research described that the application of e-module based on Problem-Based Learning is able to improve the ability of creative thinking and reduce the students’ misconception in ecology.

Abstract

This research aims to increase the scientific literacy and decrease the student’s misconception in class X MIA 6 of SMAN 1 Karanganom by applying e-module based on the concept of Problem Based Learning (PBL). The type of the research is a classroom action research which consist of two cycles. Each cycles applied: planning the learning activity, then implementing those plan, next was observing the students’ activity and finally complimenting the whole activities during a cycle. The research subject is the students of class X MIA 6 at SMAN 1 Karanganom. There are 11 boys and 23 girls. The data validation used triangulation method. The data of the research were obtained by formulating the test, the observation and the interview. The obtained data  were analyzed using the descriptive technique. The results of the research showed the implementation of e-module based on the concept of PBL decrease the students’ misconception on the ecology subject with the explanation: the population concept decreased 21%, the comunity concept run into reduction 22%, the ecosystem concept  went down 21% and the ecology concept in ‘Science, environment, technology, and society’ context reduced 26%. The analysed result also indicated that the scientific literacy has increased 20.6%. The result of the research evidenced that implementation of e-module based on the concept of PBL could increase the scientific literation and decrease the students’ misconception on the ecology subject. Keywords:     E-module with based Problem Based Learning, misconception, scientific literacy

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prosedur pengembangan modul berorientasi POE berwawasan lingkungan pada materi pencemaran, kelayakan modul, efektivitas modul, dan perbedaan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah penerapan modul. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) yang mengacu pada model Borg & Gall yang telah dimodifikasi. Sampel pengembangan meliputi sampel validasi produk sejumlah 4 validator, sampel uji coba terbatas pada 10 siswa, dan sampel uji coba lapangan sejumlah 32 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket untuk analisis kebutuhan, validasi ahli, dan tanggapan siswa terhadap modul; lembar observasi untuk hasil belajar psikomotorik, afektif, dan keterlaksanaan sintaks; wawancara untuk analisis kebutuhan, tanggapan siswa terhadap modul saat uji coba terbatas, dan lapangan; dan tes untuk hasil belajar kognitif. Uji coba lapangan menggunakan one group pretest-posttes design. Data hasil belajar kognitif dihitung dengan gain ternormalisasi dan diuji dengan uji t dua sampel berpasangan, sedangkan hasil belajar psikomotorik dan afektif dihitung persentase ketercapaiannya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: pengembangan modul berorientasi POE berwawasan lingkungan pada materi pencemaran menggunakan model Borg & Gall yang telah dimodifikasi melalui tahapan research and information collection, planning, developpreliminary form of products, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, dan operational product revision; kelayakan modul bernilai 3,3 setelah dilakukan uji lapangan dan berkategori “Baik”; pencapaian hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kategori “Sedang”; dan setelah dilakukan uji secara statistik diperoleh perbedaan hasil belajar siswa

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology in the 21st century requires students to think critically, creatively and highly a positive attitude towards science, society, and possess initiative correspond to issues resulted by the impact of science and technology’s application. Learning model that correspond to the development of science and technology is STS learning model, because the learning model allows students actively involved in learning and to show the role of science and technology in society. The aim of this research is to know the influence of STS learning model toward biology learning achievement of X degree students at SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali in 2012/2013 academic year. This research was a quasi experiment research using posttest only non equivalent group design. This research applied STS learning model towards experimental group upon class X at SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali in academic year 2012/2013. Cluster sampling was used upon the population. Data was collected using test and non test method, and analyzed by t-test. T-test results of the three domains is t count > t table so that Ho is rejected. This research concluded that the application of STS learning model has taken good effect toward student’s achievement cognitive, psychomotor, and  affective domain in learning biology of SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji ada tidaknya pengaruh media gambar berbasis potensi lokal dalam metode gallery walk terhadap pemahaman konsep dan sikap peduli lingkungan peserta didik.  Penelitian ini merupakan Quasy Experiment dengan Pretest-Posttest Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Kedua kelas diberikan pre-test sebelum perlakuan. Post-test diberikan pada akhir penelitian. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 kelas X MIPA di SMA Negeri 1 Gebog. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik cluster sampling dengan kelas X MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas X MIPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan metode gallery walk dipadu media gambar berbasis media gambar berbasis potensi lokal, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode gallery walk tanpa media gambar berbasis potensi lokal. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, wawancara, angket, dokumentasi. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan Independent Sample t-test dibantu program SPSS 19 dengan taraf signifikasi 0,050. Prosedur penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; 1) ada pengaruh media gambar berbasis potensi lokal dalam metode gallery walk terhadap pemahaman konsep (p-value 0.011 < sig. 0.050). Peserta didik yang menggunakan metode gallery walk dipadu media gambar berbasis potensi lokal memiliki pemahaman konsep yang lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang diajarkana menggunakan metode gallery walk tanpa media gambar berbasis potensi lokal; 2) ada pengaruh media gambar berbasis potensi lokal dalam metode gallery walk terhadap sikap kepedulian lingkungan (p-value 0.006 < sig. 0.050) peserta didik yang dibelajarkan menggunakan metode gallery walk dipadu media gambar berbasis potensi lokal lebih baik dibandingkan peserta didik yang dibelajarkan menggunakan metode gallery walk tanpa media gambar berbasis potensi lokal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh media gambar berbasis potensi lokal dalam metode gallery walk terhadap pemahaman konsep dan sikap kepedulian lingkungan

Abstract

Several sustainable farming practices have been introduced and have shown a low farmer participation. This paper scrutinizes factors behind the poor adoption of sustainable upland agriculture by engaging the DPSIR in combination with the framework of Capacity-Incentive and Environmental Degradation. This paper employed a simple random sampling method by applying a questionnaire to 408 farmers. We used multiple linear regression analysis to know the linkage between the predictor and the dependent variable. The resulted R-Square was 0.649, with the F statistic less than 0.05. The regression model can explain the linkage between the proposed predictors and the dependent variable. Governmental incentive is the significant predictor affecting the adoption of sustainable upland agriculture. Ensuring the profitability of it by facilitating market channels, credit, and allocating subsidies for organic input are critical. Building human capital in agriculture through services is also critical in strengthening the upland farmers’ confidence to adopt sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Students' critical thinking skills (CTS) in Indonesia are still relatively low. This study describes students' and the relationship between CTS and their gender and school location. The research was conducted using a cross-sectional survey method. The sampling technique was convenience sampling involving 91 men and 134 women from 7 public high schools in Bener Meriah district which are located in rural areas and 4 are located in urban areas. Students' CTS were measured using essay tests collected via google form and the results were analyzed descriptively. Furthermore, a correlation test was carried out between gender and students' school location on CTS with the Pearson correlation in the SPSS 25 program. The results showed that the value of students' CTS who attended urban areas had an average score of 48.6, while those who attended rural areas of 36.6. The average score of the boys was 39.4, while the average score of the girls was 50.3. The relationship between gender and CTS shows a value of 0.217, while the relationship between school location and CTS shows a value of -0.117. It was concluded that students who attend schools in urban areas have superior CTS compared to those in rural areas and female students are superior to male students. Abstract

This study aims to morphologically distinguish the two closely related loaches, N. chrysolaimos and N. fasciatus using an integrated approach that combines allometrically-adjusted morphometrics measurements, meristic counts, and observable morphological features. Loaches samples were collected from six river systems representing the Progo, Serayu, and Bengawan Solo watersheds in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Morphometric measurements were adjusted using Elliott formulation to reduce allometric bias prior to Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The value of PC1 and PC2 accounting for 42.31%. The results shows that. N. chrysolaimos showed greater caudal peduncle depth and dorsal fin length, whereas N. fasciatus was more strongly associated with dorsal fin height and caudal fin length. Meristic characters provided additional evidence, with the examined specimens of N. chrysolaimos showing higher than N. fasciatus for lateral-line scales (198 vs 156), transverse scale rows (14 vs 10), preorsal scales (57 vs 39), and circumpeduncular scales (27 vs 18), as well as dorsal (10 vs 9) and pecotral (9 vs 7) soft raysi.e. body color pattern, mouth shape and barbel orientation  also distinguished the species. These findings demonstrate that combined morphometric, meristic, and morphological characters provide reliable diagnostic evidence for distinguishing between the two species in Java.

Abstract

This study aims to sequence and characterize the complete mitochondrial genome of the Javan ferret-badger and to contruct its phylogenetic position within the family Mustelidae. The gDNA from the femoral muscle was extracted and subjected to Illumina whole-genome sequencing. The resulting sequence achieved a mean genome sequencing depth of approximately 1,545×. The mitochondrial genome was assembled using SPAdes v3.15.5 and annotated using MitoZ v3.4 and MITOS2. Phylogenetic relationships were analyzed against nine mustelid mitogenomes using Maximum Likelihood analysis under the GTR model with 1,000 bootstrap replicates. The circular mitogenome lenght of M. orientalis is 16,274 bp consisted of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and a control region. The results showed that the mitogenome is compact with short intergenic spacers, conserved gene overlaps, and an overall GC content of 45.0%. Relative Synonymous Codon Usage analysis indicated an uneven codon distribution, with a general preference for A/T-ending codons. Mitogenomic data were used to examine the phylogenetic position of M. orientalis within Mustelidae. The analysis reveals the phylogeny of M. orientalis within Melogale supports the monophyly of the genus. These findings provide a valuable genomic data for further systematic, phylogeographic, population genetic, and conservation studies.
