Abstract

Research Background: The deep learning approach has the potential to improve the quality of physical education learning in elementary schools by strengthening deep understanding, critical thinking skills, and meaningful learning experiences. However, teachers' knowledge of this approach in the Special Region of Yogyakarta is still unknown. Research Objectives: This study aims to analyze teachers' understanding of deep learning and its implications for improving the quality of physical education learning in elementary schools. Method: This study uses a mixed methods approach with subjects being elementary school physical education teachers who are members of the KKG in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with 30 teachers as respondents. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The instruments used were a 15-item questionnaire, interview guidelines, and supporting documents. The ethical procedures included informed consent, assurance of respondent confidentiality, and the use of data for academic purposes only. Results: Based on the questionnaire, 33.3% of teachers strongly agreed, 40% agreed, 16.7% were unsure, 6.7% disagreed, and 3.3% strongly disagreed with the application of deep learning in PJOK learning. Overall, 73.3% of teachers agreed or strongly agreed, indicating a high level of acceptance of this approach. Conclusion: Many elementary school teachers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta responded positively to the application of deep learning in PE learning. This approach is considered capable of improving the quality of learning, despite obstacles such as limited time, facilities, and teacher understanding. The practical implications of this study emphasize the importance of continuous training, the provision of adequate facilities, and intensive assistance so that the implementation of deep learning does not remain merely a discourse but can be applied systematically and sustainably in PJOK learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Aktivitas gerakan ritmis berperan penting dalam mengembangkan koordinasi motorik, kepekaan ritmis, dan kreativitas siswa sekolah dasar. Namun, penerapannya di sekolah masih terbatas oleh pemahaman guru dan variasi model pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan kesiapan guru PJOK sekolah dasar dalam menerapkan Gerakan Ritmis Anak Indonesia (GIMASIA) sebagai alternatif pembelajaran PJOK yang edukatif dan menyenangkan. Metode pengabdian dilakukan melalui sosialisasi, diskusi, dan praktik langsung selama 3 hari dengan melibatkan 50 guru PJOK anggota KKG Kapanewon Sleman dan Tempel. Evaluasi kegiatan menggunakan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru dari 62% menjadi 85% atau meningkat sebesar 23%. Selain itu, 90% peserta menyatakan kegiatan sangat bermanfaat dan 88% guru siap mengimplementasikan GIMASIA dalam pembelajaran PJOK. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan pendidikan jasmani melalui penguatan model pembelajaran gerak ritmis berbasis aktivitas serta mendukung implementasi berkelanjutan di sekolah dasar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan perkembangan dan kecenderungan penelitian mengenai pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani berbasis digital dalam konteks pendidikan sekolah melalui pendekatan analisis bibliometrik. Data penelitian dihimpun dari basis data Scopus pada periode 2021–2025 dengan menggunakan kata kunci “pendidikan jasmani” dan “digital”, sehingga diperoleh sebanyak 675 metadata artikel yang relevan. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak VOSviewer, R, dan Biblioshiny untuk mengidentifikasi tren publikasi tahunan, produktivitas peneliti, jurnal utama, afiliasi institusi, kontribusi negara, serta pemetaan topik penelitian. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan jumlah publikasi pada dua tahun terakhir yang mencerminkan meningkatnya perhatian akademik terhadap integrasi teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani. Penelitian didominasi oleh kontribusi peneliti dan institusi dari kawasan Eropa, dengan jurnal-jurnal bereputasi internasional sebagai saluran utama diseminasi ilmiah. Pemetaan kata kunci mengindikasikan bahwa penelitian pendidikan jasmani berbasis digital bersifat multidimensional, mencakup aspek pedagogi, kesehatan, perkembangan peserta didik, serta inovasi teknologi, dengan kecenderungan terbaru yang mengarah pada digital transformation, e-learning, dan pemanfaatan teknologi cerdas. Temuan ini memberikan gambaran komprehensif mengenai evolusi riset pendidikan jasmani berbasis digital serta mengidentifikasi peluang penelitian lanjutan, khususnya terkait validitas penilaian psikomotor, kompetensi pedagogis digital guru, dan pemerataan kontribusi riset lintas negara.

Abstract

This study aims to improve manipulative motor skills and learning motivation among a slow learner student in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) through the implementation of task analysis and visual prompting strategies. Low manipulative motor skills and learning motivation were identified as problems among a seventh-grade (VII C) student at SMP Negeri 1 Rantau Pulung, necessitating an adaptive and structured instructional intervention. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, implemented across two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages, with one slow learner student as the subject. Data were collected through observation, performance tests, questionnaires, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results show that manipulative motor skills improved from 43.75% in the Pre-Cycle to 81.25% in Cycle II. Learning motivation based on observation increased from 50% to 80%, while motivation based on the questionnaire increased from 60% to 84%. The implementation of task analysis and visual prompting also improved from 41.6% to 83.3%, exceeding the predetermined success criterion of ≥75%. These findings indicate that the combination of task analysis and visual prompting effectively helps slow learner students understand instructions gradually, improve motor skills, and build self-confidence and learning motivation. This study recommends the strategy as an adaptive alternative for PJOK instruction that supports inclusive education in schools.

Abstract

Basic manipulative movements are an important skill in the motor development of elementary school children, particularly in throwing and catching a ball. However, the limited variety of physical education instruction has resulted in students’ manipulative skills not developing optimally. Therefore, active, enjoyable learning methods tailored to students’ characteristics are needed, one of which is the game of catch. This study aims to determine the effect of ball-throwing and catching games on improving basic manipulative motor skills in fourth-grade students at State Elementary School 1 Kalisari Natar, South Lampung. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study consisted of 25 students. The sampling method used was total sampling, resulting in a sample size of 25 subjects for this study. The instruments in this study involved a basic manipulative movement test before (pretest) and after the treatment (posttest) with a 4-week intervention. The data analysis techniques included the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and hypothesis testing using the paired-samples t-test. The results showed that there was a significant effect of ball throw-and-catch games on improving students' basic manipulative movement skills, with a calculated t-value of 3.9192, which is higher than the table t-value of 2.0639 at a significance level of α = 0.05, t (24) = 3.919, p < 0.001, Cohen’s dz = 0.78. Therefore, ball throw-and-catch games are effective to use in physical education learning to improve elementary school students' basic manipulative movement skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the implementation of Obstacle Course games in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) instruction and to identify their contributions to the development of elementary school students’ gross motor skills and self-confidence. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 002 Rantau Pulung. The research informants consisted of a PJOK teacher, students purposively selected based on variations in motor skills and self-confidence, and peers as supporting informants. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and field notes. Data trustworthiness was strengthened through source, technique, and time triangulation, member checking, peer debriefing, and an audit trail. Data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Obstacle Course provided students with active, progressive, and adaptive learning experiences. Improvements in gross motor skills were reflected in enhanced coordination, balance, agility, directional changes, body control, and independence in completing obstacle sequences. Meanwhile, self-confidence developed through increased willingness to try, persistence in facing failure, active participation, and readiness to complete challenges independently. Scaffolding, demonstrations, teacher feedback, difficulty-level modifications, and peer support emerged as important mechanisms facilitating these changes. This study confirms that Obstacle Course activities can serve as a pedagogical strategy that integrates the development of motor competencies and psychosocial skills in elementary school PJOK instruction.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve learning motivation and understanding of floor-gymnastics material through the implementation of contextual video-based instructional media among seventh-grade slow-learning students at SMP Negeri 1 Sandaran. The study employed a quantitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two instructional meetings. The participants were three purposively selected slow-learning students. Data were collected through learning motivation observations, floor-gymnastics performance assessments, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively by comparing students’ achievement across the pre-intervention stage, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The results demonstrated consistent improvements in both learning motivation and understanding of floor-gymnastics material. The mean learning motivation score increased from 50.00% at the pre-intervention stage to 67.50% in Cycle I and 85.00% in Cycle II. Meanwhile, the mean understanding score increased from 54.00 at baseline to 70.00 in Cycle I and 86.00 in Cycle II. Learning mastery increased from 0% at baseline to 66.67% in Cycle I and reached 100% in Cycle II. These improvements indicate that contextual video-based instructional media can support students in understanding movement sequences through visual, repetitive, concrete, and experience-based learning. Therefore, contextual video-based instruction has potential as an adaptive instructional strategy for improving learning motivation and understanding among slow-learning students in physical education, particularly in floor gymnastics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the peer-tutoring method in inclusive Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) instruction to improve the basic non-locomotor motor skills and self-confidence of slow learners. The study employed a Classroom Action Research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted in two cycles during the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at SD Negeri 002 Sangkulirang, East Kutai Regency. The research subject was a fourth-grade student with the initials AL who was identified as a slow learner. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, field notes, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively by integrating quantitative and qualitative data. The results showed an increase in non-locomotor basic motor skills from 46% in the pre-cycle to 71% in Cycle I and 83–85% in Cycle II. Self-confidence also increased from 35% in the pre-cycle to 75% in Cycle I and 85% in Cycle II. These improvements were accompanied by behavioral changes, including the courage to try, the ability to follow instructions, the courage to ask questions, a willingness to perform in front of the class, group participation, and independence in performing movements. The findings indicate that peer tutoring has the potential to serve as an inclusive pedagogical strategy that integrates scaffolding, social support, experiences of success, and repeated practice to strengthen both the motor skills and psychosocial aspects of students with learning difficulties. Although the results are limited to a single subject, the study offers practical implications for the development of adaptive and participatory Physical Education (PJOK) programs.
