Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe and determine the increase in student learning motivation by using PhET simulation learning media on electromagnetic induction material for class XII SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. This type of research is quantitative, and the research design used was the pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of this study were students of class XII SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur who were divided into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The data in this study were in the form of learning motivation scores before and after learning physics using the PhET simulation learning media which were analyzed descriptively. Furthermore, the increase in motivation was analyzed by the Independent Sample T Test and Paired Sample T Test. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the final motivation of students in the experimental class was in the high category with an average increase in motivation of 1.14, while the control class was in the low category of 0.34. Thus it can be concluded that the application of using PhET simulation learning media can increase student motivation in SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur.Key Words: PhET Simulation Learning Media, Learning Motivation

Abstract

 This research aimed to describe the scientific attitudes of students towards learning physics on energy and work materials by applying the advanced organizer learning model. This research is pre-experimental research with the design of one group pretest-posttest design, which describes an increase in scientific attitudes through the application of the advance organizer learning model for Class X SMA 2 Mempura, Siak Regency in the 2018/2019 academic year. The aspects of the scientific attitude in this research include curiosity, critical thinking, open thinking, and honest attitude. The data collection technique used a questionnaire given to the research subject. Initial scientific attitude data was taken by distributing questionnaires to research subjects before treatment, while the final scientific attitude was taken by distributing questionnaires after treatment. The filling out of the questionnaire is done individually in the class, where students are not allowed to ask questions or pay attention to other friends regarding the answers to the questionnaire. The results showed that the students' initial scientific attitude was in the low category of 2.41, while the final scientific attitude had increased by 1.11 points with an average score of 3.52 which was categorized as high. Based on the results of the N-Gain score, students' scientific attitudes on each indicator had a score with an average N-Gain value of 0.70 which was categorized as high. The results of this research concluded that the application of the advanced organizer learning model in learning work and energy materials could improve the scientific attitudes of class X students SMA 2 Mempura.

Abstract

This study was aimed to describe the basic physics II learning result of students of Industrial Engineering of Pelalawan Institute of Technology on the electicity material. The subject in this study were the second semester students of Industrial Engineering of Pelalawan Institute of Technology academic year 2017/2018. The instrument which was used to collect the data was the test given after the implementation of the demonstration method. The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis technique which include student's mastery level. The results of data analysis showed that student learning outcomes were categorized good. The Implementation of demonstration method can improve student learning outcomes on the concept of electricity.

Abstract

 The physics learning process at school does not involve students directly which causes the low cognitive learning outcomes of students. For this reason, it is necessary to apply an effective learning model for improving student learning outcomes. One suitable learning model is the treffinger learning model. The treffinger model provides learning activities with three stages namely basic tools, practice with the process, and working with real problems. These three stages can make students actively and creatively involved in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of increasing cognitive learning outcomes of students on optical material by applying the Treffinger learning model. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample was taken two classes randomly as the experimental class and the control class from the student population in class XI IPA of SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru. The data collection instrument used students' cognitive learning achievement test consisting of pretest and posttest given to the experimental class and the control class. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis results obtained an average absorption capacity of 72.64% experimental class with a good learning category and 63.47% control class with quite a good category. With the results of the inferential analysis with an independent-sample t-test, there are significant differences in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class, where the experimental class has a higher increase in learning outcomes. Thus the use of the treffinger model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in class XI IPA of SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru on optical material.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an indigenous knwledge-based student worksheets for valid Grade VII junior high school students. This research uses Research and Development (R & D) method with reference to model 4_D. The instruments used are LKS validation sheets and user response questionnaires from teachers and students. The research that has been carried out concludes: the quality of the developed LKS scores with high category as well as the user response from very high teachers and from the high categorized students so it is good to use.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the learning outcomes of basic physics learning II students Industrial Engineering of Pelalawan Institute of Technologyon the concept of electricity. The subject of this research is the second semester students of Industrial Engineering of Pelalawan Institute of Technology. The instrument used for data collection is the learning outcomes test given after the application of mastery learning strategy. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique covering the students' learning achievement. The results of data analysis showed student learning outcomes categorized average. Application of strategy Mastery learning can improve student's basic physics learning outcomes on electrical materials.

Abstract

 The purpose of this research was to find the student physics learning achievement as topic rectilinear motion kinematic through Multi Intelligences approach implementation by using Concept Map. The subject of the research was the students of X8 Class of SMA I Pangkalan Kerinci in the academic year 2005/2006 the sample was taken was 35 students. The instrument of collecting data was a test of learning achievement used descriptive analysis which consists of digestibility, the effectiveness of learning, the student completeness learning, the completeness indicators, the affective evaluation, and psychomotor evaluation. The finding showed that the average of students' digestibility is 80,8% categorized well. The effectiveness of learning is 80,8% with the completeness indicator is 92%. The effective evaluation is categorized good enough (57,1%) and the psychomotor evaluation is categorized very good (62,8%).

Abstract

 This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of concept attainment learning model to increase cognitive learning outcomes. The research method used is pre-experimental design with intact group comparison design. The research subjects were students of class XI SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru, in which class XI IPA4 was an experimental class and class XI IPA5 was a control class. The experimental class uses a concept attainment learning model and a control class with a conventional learning. The data was obtained from cognitive learning outcomes test which given to students after the learning process was carried out. Data were analyzed descriptively to provide an overview of students cognitive learning outcomes including students absorption and learning effectiveness on indication of global warming material. The research result obtained were the average of students absorption ability in the experimental class was 76,94% and 68,33% for control class. Thus, can be concluded that the implementation of the concept attainment learning model was effective to increase student cognitive learning outcomes in SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru on the subject of global warming.

Abstract

The learning process of physics at school, the topics is sometime less relatedto the existing dailylife phenomenon.This condition causes low improvement of students' cognitive learning result. In this case, it was a necessary to apply a learning model to improve student learning result by applying phenomenon based learning model (PhenoBL). Quasi experiment in the form of nonequivalent control group design as the model of the research. The instrument to collect data used test of student cognitive at pretest and posttest, respectively. The Data was analyzed by descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of descriptive analysis show the average absorption rate of experiment class is 71.05% and control class is 63.33% which both classes are in a good category. In the paired sample t-test results stated an increasing of students cognitive learning outcomes from pretest to posttest. This can also be seen from the inferential analysis in that means there was a significant differences between experimental class and kontrol class. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of PhenoBL model can improve student learning outcomes of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru on optical material.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the cognitive learning outcomes of student’s physics through the application of metacognitive strategies. The research method used is Pre-Experimental by using One Shot Case Study design. This research was conducted at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru in May 2016 until June 2017 with research subject at Class XII MIA 1 consisting of 35 students. The data in this study is the results of student's cognitive learning outcomes test which are diagnostic test in the form of multiple choice reasoned amounted to 10 questions. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis that is by determining the absorption and learning difficulties of student. Based on data analysis, the result shows that the average absorption of students Class XII MIA 1 is 70,7% which is in good category. For the analysis of the student's learning difficulties, the result is that at each stage of problem solving on metacognitive strategy shows that from 34 students almost half of them have difficulty in understanding stage of problem, problem solving planning stage and interpretation stage, and only a small part having difficulties in planning stage plan. This means that students have the ability to process data in a good mathematical form.Key Words: Cognitive learning outcomes, Metacognitive strategies, Electrostatic concept
