Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the role of the Social Service in handling homelessness through several aspects, namely planning, providing guidance, offering assistance, and delivering training. This study applies a qualitative research approach with a descriptive method in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the issues faced. The findings of the study reveal that the role of the Social Service in addressing the problem of homeless people and beggars in Pinrang Regency remains less than effective. Although the Social Service has made efforts in planning programs and activities intended to reduce the number of homeless individuals, the outcomes achieved have not met the expectations set by both the institution and the community. Furthermore, the implementation of guidance and training is still limited, resulting in inadequate empowerment for those in need. Many programs tend to be short-term and are not followed by sustainable measures to ensure long-lasting solutions. As a consequence, the number of homeless people and beggars remains significant, reflecting the gap between policy formulation and actual practice.

Abstract

This study analyzes how the principles of Islamic law can be integrated with the ideas of ecofeminism to create more inclusive and sustainable environmental policies. This study uses an intersectional approach with comprehensive literature analysis and gender analysis frameworks to understand how social identity affects women's participation in ecofeminism and environmental protection based on Islamic law principles. The results of the study state that the integration of the principles of ecofeminism and Islamic law has excellent potential to create fair and sustainable environmental policies based on justice ('adl), balance (mizan), and responsibility (khalifah). The concept of khalifah affirms the role of humans as custodians of the earth, provides a theological basis to support environmental conservation and inspires collective responsibility, including the role of women as essential agents. Programs that give women access to land and natural resources increase their participation in agriculture and environmental management, reduce poverty, and strengthen their role as agents of change. However, challenges such as resistance from patriarchal communities, lack of financial and technical support, and the need for ongoing education and training must be overcome. Technology also plays a crucial role in supporting inclusive and sustainable environmental policies.

Abstract

Qualitative research from this type of single instrumental case study is aimed at providing an alternative analytical framework regarding the discourse on developing human resource competencies for state civil servants, which specifically focuses on employees at the Center for Rehabilitation and Social Protection-Sentra Gau Mabaji in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. We use Critical Realism as a philosophical basis and an interpretative method modified from contemporary social studies, combined with theoretical eclecticism to allow for a more dynamic analysis. The purposive sampling technique was used with certain practical and methodological considerations to select only subjects who were relevant to the research objectives as respondents. The interviews were then conducted in depth and semi-structured by focusing on three aspects: Knowledge, Utilizing the coding conducted earlier, Skills and Attitudes are identified as dimensions of competency, forming a conceptual framework to steer the analysis. The outcomes present a phenomenological depiction that elucidates diverse perspectives among state civil servants concerning the development of human resource competencies. This exploration encompasses the aspects of knowledge, skills, and attitude, examining their interrelation with the individuals' status, duties, and functions as employees in the rehabilitation and social protection service.
