Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam RPH menghasilkan limbah cair yang merupakan limbah organik (biodegradable) terdiri dari darah, urine, sisa-sisa pencernaan, dan juga air yang dihasilkan dari proses pencucian. Limbah yang tidak dikelola dengan baik sebelum dibuang dapat menyebabkan pencemaran terhadap lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa dengan penambahan ekoenzim kulit nanas terhadap konsentrasi COD dan BOD pada limbah cair RPH. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari satu kontrol dan tiga perlakuan, masing-masing perlakuan memiliki tiga kali pengulangan. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada hari ke 0 dan 10. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penurunan COD terbaik yaitu pada P4 dengan rata-rata 2.466 mg/L pada hari ke-0 dan turun menjadi 1.818 mg/L setelah inkubasi 10 hari, diikuti dengan P2 dengan rata-rata 2.499 mg/L pada hari ke-0 dan turun menjadi 1.827 mg/L setelah inkubasi 10 hari. Sedangkan pada BOD P2 merupakan satu-satunya perlakuan yang mengalami penurunan dengan rata-rata 132,84 mg/L pada hari ke-0  dan turun menjadi 85,20 mg/L setelah inkubasi 10 hari. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan mengenai penggunaan konsentrasi ekoenzim dan perbedaan waktu inkubasi untuk menurunkan kadar COD dan BOD pada limbah cair RPH agar hasilnya signifikan.

Abstract

Bakteri Pereduksi Sulfat (BPS) merupakan kelompok bakteri anaerobik, yang banyak terdapat di alam dan memainkan peran yang sangat diperlukan dalam sulfur dan siklus karbon di bumi. Beberapa bakteri pereduksi sulfat menggunakan sulfat (SO42?) atau teroksidasi lainnya senyawa belerang sebagai penerima elektron terminal dalam oksidasi zat organik. Bakteri pereduksi sulfat ditemukan hampir di semua lingkungan baik di tanah, air tawar, air laut dan air payau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hasil uji reduksi bakteri indigenous dari air sumur gali sekitar industri daur ulang baterai aki. Bakteri pereduksi sulfat diisolasi dari air sumur gali sekitar industri daur ulang baterai aki di Bandar Khalifah menggunakan media cair Postgate B dan di murnikan dengan metode pengenceran. Karakteristik morfologi koloni, mikroskopis dan biokimia di indentifikasi menggunakan buku Bergey’s Manual Of Determinative Bacteriology. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 8 isolat bakteri pereduksi sulfat dari air sumur gali di Bandar Khalifah. 8 isolat BPS dapat tumbuh pada media dengan pH 3 & pH 6. Efisiensi pereduksi sulfat tiap isolat berbeda. Namun, efisiensi reduksi meningkat pada pH 6. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan mereduksi tertinggi diperoleh oleh BPS 04 pada pH 3 dengan rata-rata penurunan sebanyak 78.49 ppm dan pada pH 6 rata-rata penurunan sebanyak 61.23 ppm. Hasil identifikasi bakteri menunjukkan bahwa 2 isolat berasal dari genus Desulfobulbus (BPS 01 dan BPS 03), 2 isolat berasal dari genus Desulfococcus (BPS 02 dan BPS 09) dan 4 isolat berasal dari genus Desulfotomaculum (BPS 04, BPS 05, BPS 06 dan BPS 07).

Abstract

Teknologi baru yang sedang banyak dikembangkan sebagai penyediaan sumber listrik alternatif salah satunya yaitu Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC). Penelitian ini menggunakan substrat dari limbah cair tempe dan bakteri Lactobacillus acidophilus. Desain sistem MFC yang digunakan yaitu dual-chamber dengan masing-masing reaktor memilki volume 500 ml. Penelitian yang dilakukan pada sistem MFC yaitu limbah cair tempe murni dan limbah cair tempe dengan penambahan bakteri Lactobacillus acidophilus, dengan waktu inkubasi 9 hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi bakteri Lactobacillus acidophilus dalam meningkatkan energi listrik yang dihasilkan menggunakan sistem MFC dan untuk mengetahui waktu (hari) optimum yang dapat menghasilkan energi listrik yang tinggi. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah eksperimental, yaitu dilakukannya dua eksperimen pada substrat limbah cair tempe pada sistem MFC. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya perubahan kuat arus dan tegangan yang dihasilkan dari masing-masing ekperimen substrat. Potensi energi listrik yang lebih baik dihasilkan dari substrat limbah cair tempe dengan penambahan bakteri Lactobacillus acidophilus. Kesimpulan dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bakteri Lactobacillus acidophilus berpotensi dalam meningkatkan energi listrik. Waktu (hari) optimum yang menghasilkan energi listrik pada penggunaan limbah cair tempe murni yaitu pada hari ke-3 dengan besar tegangan listrik 2,21 mV, arus listrik 1,42 mA dan power density 4,92 mW/m2. Pada limbah cair tempe dengan penambahan Lactobacillus acidophilus menghasilkan energi listrik yang tinggi pada hari ke-3 . Pada hari ke-3 dihasilkan tegangan listrik sebesar 2,53 mV, arus listrik 1,69 mA dan power density 6,71 mW/m2.

Abstract

Bulu ayam merupakan limbah yang dihasilkan dari ternak ayam potong yang memiliki nilai protein cukup tinggi tinggi. sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan dasar pakan ikan lele (Clarias gariepinus). Penelitian ini menggunakan substrat limbah bulu ayam, bakteri Bacillus subtilis, dan ikan lele (Clarias gariepinus). Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan limbah bulu ayam menjadi pakan ikan dengan fermentasi bakteri Bacillus subtilis, kemudian untuk mengetahui kuantitas proksimat pada tepung bulu ayam, dan pengaruh pakan tepung bulu ayam terhadap pertumbuhan bobot ikan lele (Clarias gariepinus). Penelitian ini menggunakan fermentasi selama 5 hari, dan dibagi menjadi 4 perlakuan, antara lain: P0 : Tepung bulu ayam non fermentasi; P1 : Tepung bulu ayam 250gram/250ml bakteri Bacillus subtilis; P2 : Tepung bulu ayam 250gram/500ml bakteri Bacillus subtilis; dan P3 : Tepung bulu ayam 250gram/750ml bakteri Bacillus subtilis. Parameter yang digunakan adalah uji proksimat yang meliputi kadar protein, kadar lemak, kadar karbohidrat, kadar serat dan bobot ikan lele (Clarias gariepinus) setelah diberikan pakan tepung bulu ayam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan P2 dapat meningkatkan kuantitas pakan ikan dengan hasil kadar protein sebesar 35,3%, kadar karbohidrat sebesar 4,42% dan lemak sebesar 2,09%, serta mampu   meningkatakan bobot ikan lele (Clarias gariepinus) sebesar 26,6 gram.

Abstract

Dekke Na Niura is a typical traditional food of Batak Toba tribe which is made from fermented carp. Dekke Na Niura can act as a source of probiotics because it contains good microorganisms, namely Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB). Several types of LAB are known synthesize exopolysaccharides (EPS), which are polysaccharide polymers considered important for health. Therefore researchers want to know whether dekke na niura can act as functional food evidenced by the presence of LAB and its potential to produce EPS. The presence of bacterial isolate on dekke na niura was detected by dilution series-pour plate method on MRSA (deMan Rogosa and Sharpe Agar) medium, then confirmed as LAB by morphological and biochemical characterization. The isolates believed to be LAB were then tested for their potential to produce EPS. The results showed that in dekke na niura, LAB isolates were found by UB1, UB2 and UB3 and then all of them identified as Lactobacillus. The three isolates showed the potential for EPS production with a weight ranging from 2490-3490 mg/L. This weight is known to be greater than the weight of EPS produced by commercial LAB isolates.Keywords – Carp, Dekke Na Niura, Lactic Acid Bacteria, Exopolisaccharides

Abstract

Background: Golden period is the peak period of child growth and development. Growth and development of toddlers need to be monitored regularly in order to produce quality human resources. At that age, a problem that is commonly called the Triple M Complex (Malnutrition - Morbidity - Mortality) can be found. Pneumonia is the main killer of children under five in the world. One of the growth indicators for toddlers is nutritional status. Nutritional status can be monitored using KMS. The high number of pneumonia cases in Indonesia is not only a disease problem but also related to behavior. Protection and prevention efforts must be followed by changes in the behavior of those closest to the child, especially parents. Parental behavior is influenced by many factors, such as education, age, occupation, parental marital status.Aims: . to determine the characteristics of families of toddlers with pneumonia and the nutritional status of toddlers with pneumonia at the Moncek Health Center, Sumenep RegencyMethods: cross sectional analytic study with a purposive sampling technique Results: From this study it was found that the percentage of female respondents was higher (96.7%) than male respondents (3.3%) as a parents.The most age of responden is 15-44 years (66,7%), almost all respondents were married as many as 27 people (90%). Characteristics of respondents based on education level is that most of them have elementary school education (33.3%) and most of them don’t go to work (33,3%). And from 30 toddler who get pneumonia are in negative growth nutritional status (100%).Conclusion: The nutritional status of children with pneumonia if based on the Towards Health Card (KMS) tends to "grow negative", that is, the body weight has decreased compared to the previous month's weight. Characteristics of families in toddlers with pneumonia are mostly of childbearing age, with female sex and most are housewives (not working) and almost half of them were elementary school graduates.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is still one of the global national and international issues experienced by toddlers in the world because stunting can cause physical and functional disruption of the body and increases the risk of degenerative diseases as adults. Apart from affecting health, stunting will have an impact on intelligence levels. Stunting indicators are Body Length and Height according to Age, indicating short or very short body conditions in toddlers based on the level of nutritional status. Government regulations specify that the government is responsible for ensuring that every citizen, including children, receives basic health services. Monitoring the growth and development of toddlers can be done at Posyandu. An understanding of monitoring child growth and development is very important for health workers and posyandu cadres as the spearhead of health in the community. Cadres' skills in monitoring children's growth and development are expected to be able to determine children's nutritional status and developmental status accurately. Posyandu cadres must have competence in anthropometric measurements and assessing the nutritional status of infants and toddlers. Some studies show that the majority of cadres still lack skills in measuring anthropometry. Aims: Researchers want to know the effect of cadre training on improving height measurement skills and assessing stunting status in toddlers in Parsanga Village, Sumenep Regency Methods: This research is experimental research using a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest Posttest design. The subjects in this study were posyandu cadres, the number of samples taken in this study used a total sampling technique (45 respondents) Results: Almost the majority (42.2%) of the cadres are aged 20-40 years, and the education of the majority of respondents (55.6%) is high school (SMA/SMK/MA), the length of time they have been in the cadres for almost half of the respondents is less than 5 years (44.4%) and the majority of respondents (77.8%) have never attended training related to improving toddler anthropometric measurement skills or training on stunting prevention. Based on the results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test, there was an increase in skills in measuring height and assessing stunting status in toddlers after training with a p-value of 0.00 Conclusion:There was an increase in cadres' skill scores in measuring toddlers' height before and after training with a p-value of 0.000, as well as an increase in cadres' skill scores in assessing toddlers' stunting status between before and after training with a p-value of 0.000. Abstract

This study aims to develop a Student Worksheet based on Higher Order Thinking Skills that is feasible, practical and effective to use. This research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The data analysis technique used is a combination of quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative data analysis was used to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness. Meanwhile, qualitative data analysis was used to determine the results of observations, inputs and suggestions. The output of this study stated that the HOTS-based Student Worksheet on the respiratory system sub-material was declared eligible to be tested with revisions. The development of HOTS-based Student Worksheet is applicable with a score of 98.46% (Media Validator) and is considered very feasible with a percentage of 85.3% (Material Validator). The practicality of Student Worksheet is indicated by the teacher response rate of 98.3% and the student response rate of 84.02%. This Student Worksheet also declared effective with an N-gain value of 0.32 in the medium category. Based on the results obtained, the HOTS-based Student Worksheet was declared feasible, practical and effective to be applied in learning activities.

Abstract

Bakteri proteolitik adalah bakteri yang dapat mendegradasi protein dengan cara memproduksi enzim protease ekstraseluler. Bakteri proteolitik dapat ditemukan pada tanah mangrove. Hal ini karena serasah daun mangrove berat keringnya mengandung dari 61% protein. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya isolat bakteri proteolitik dari tanah mangrove di Pantai Pandaratan Kecamatan Sarudik Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah dan mengkarakterisasinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratoris yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan pada dua titik lokasi I (berpasir) dan lokasi II (berlumpur) yang diisolasi menggunakan media SMA dengan metode spread plate. Pengkarakterisasian meliputi pengamatan secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis serta uji biokimia. Hasil penelitian ditemukan adanya 15 isolat bakteri proteolitik yang diisolasi dari tanah mangrove Pantai Pandaratan Tapanuli Tengah. Uji aktivitas indeks proteolitik (IP) tertinggi diperoleh 0.82 mm oleh Micrococcus (L1) dan terendah 0.09 mm oleh Brevibacillus (L2). Sebanyak 11 genus bakteri proteolitik ditemukan antara lain, yaitu Curtobacterium (P1 dan L7), Bacillus (P2, P4, dan P7), Enterococcus (P3), Brevibacillus (P5 dan L2), Carnobacterium (P6), Paenibacillus (P8), Micrococcus (L1), Vagococcus (L3), Marinococcus (L4), Halobacillus (L5), Sporosarcina (L6).
