Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini mengajak para pelaku Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) yang bergerak dalam bidang usaha kuliner milik mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. UMKM yang menjadi Mitra Pengabdian Masyakat saat ini memiliki permasalahan dalam hal kegiatan pemasarannya yang masih sangat konvensional. Karena hal tersebut, UMKM ini sangat perlu pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang pentingnya pemanfaatan branding produk dan digital marketing untuk memperbaiki pemasaran produk sehingga menjadi lebih baik dapat meningkatkan nilai jual yang lebih baik. Selain itu, pada kegiatan ini UMKM juga dibantu dalam membuat akun bisnis melalui platform Instagram, beserta dengan cara mengelola media digital tersebut secara optimal. Ada 4 tahapan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, yaitu perencanaan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan branding produk dan digital marketing menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai pentingnya branding produk dan digital marketing terhadap UMKM, serta meningkatnya jumlah pengikut atau follower instagram meningkat dari 0 sampai dengan 25 pengikut.

Abstract

Abstrak Orientalisme merupakan satu pandangan dunia Timur berdasarkan dunia Barat yang mengakibatkan adanya stereotip dan sentimen pada perempuan Asia. Di Asia juga terdapat industri yang memperburuk tentang stereotip perempuan Asia itu sendiri, yaitu industri hiburan Korea Selatan, K-pop. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tanda perjuangan perempuan pada Musik Video (MV) Lim Kim YELLOW. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce dengan mengkaji makna tanda dalam MV Lim Kim YELLOW. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga jenis perjuangan yang ditemukan pada MV ini yaitu perlawanan terhadap orientalisme, perlawanan terhadap pandangan dan sentimen perempuan Asia, dan perlawanan patriarki. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah MV YELLOW merupakan bentuk dari kemarahan dan perjuangan seorang Lim Kim yang digambarkan pada setting tempat yang bernuansa oriental, penggunaan budaya tradisional berbagai negara Asia, serta lagu yang agresif yang seakan mengolok-ngolok. Kata Kunci: musik video, orientalisme, patriarki, semiotika, stereotip, yellow  AbstractOrientalism is a Western perspective to see the Eastern world which results in Asian women stereotyping and sentiments. In Asia, there is an industry that exacerbates stereotypes of Asian women as well; the South Korean entertainment industry or K-pop. This research aims to determine the signs of women's struggle in MV "YELLOW" of Lim Kim. This research uses a qualitative approach and Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory by examining the meaning of signs in MV "YELLOW" of Lim Kim. The research results show three types of struggle found in this MV; resistance to Orientalism, resistance to the views and sentiments of Asian women, and resistance to patriarchy. This research concludes that the MV "YELLOW" is a form of Lim Kim's anger and struggle depicted in a setting of an oriental style; the use of traditional culture from various Asian countries, as well as an aggressive song that seems to be mocking. Keywords: orientalism, patriarchy, semiotics, stereotypes, video music, yellow

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas media promosi dalam membalikkan penurunan jumlah pendaftaran siswa dalam kerangka sekolah menengah, dengan fokus pada pengembangan dan implementasi buklet promosi yang memanfaatkan teknologi digital. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan langsung dan wawancara, dilengkapi dengan tinjauan kerangka teori yang ada dan materi promosi sekolah. Data primer terdiri dari elemen visual yang spesifik terhadap institusi pendidikan, sementara data sekunder mencakup berbagai studi teoretis. Buklet yang dihasilkan, menampilkan tata letak yang elegan dan gambar yang dipilih dengan hati-hati, bertujuan untuk secara efektif mengkomunikasikan tawaran akademis dan berbasis nilai sekolah. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa alat promosi yang disesuaikan seperti ini dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan jangkauan dan menarik calon siswa, dengan demikian mendukung keberlanjutan pendaftaran di institusi pendidikan.

Abstract

Studi ini mengeksplorasi efikasi profil video digital sebagai alat promosi untuk institusi pendidikan, dengan tujuan meningkatkan perekrutan dan pengenalan merek. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung dan wawancara, dilengkapi dengan analisis media cetak yang ada dan kerangka teori tentang produksi media. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi kebutuhan akan strategi promosi yang lebih dinamis dan efektif, mengarah pada perancangan dan implementasi profil video menggunakan Adobe Premiere. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa profil video secara signifikan meningkatkan visibilitas institusi, menarik calon siswa dan orang tua serta mendorong pendaftaran. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa profil video digital, jika digunakan secara efektif, dapat berfungsi sebagai alat pemasaran pendidikan yang kuat, menawarkan implikasi luas untuk meningkatkan jangkauan dan keterlibatan institusi di era digital.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi efektivitas TikTok sebagai alat promosi penjualan batu permata, menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif untuk memahami strategi promosi sebuah usaha batu permata. Penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara dan observasi selama periode tiga bulan untuk mengumpulkan data. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan TikTok dalam bauran pemasaran secara signifikan meningkatkan profil bisnis dan memperkuat angka penjualannya, dengan peningkatan yang luar biasa sebanyak 2531 batu permata terjual. Hasil ini menekankan potensi platform media sosial seperti TikTok tidak hanya sebagai sarana hiburan tetapi juga sebagai kanal promosi yang efektif di pasar konsumen. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa bisnis, terutama di pasar niche, dapat memanfaatkan platform ini untuk meningkatkan visibilitas dan hasil penjualan mereka secara efektif.

Abstract

This qualitative research explores makeup as a form of self-representation by queer beauty vlogger Deta Cahyaa. Applying Roland Barthes' semiotic theory, the study focuses on denotation, connotation, and myth concepts. Utilizing additional insights from Stuart Hall's Representation theory, the research employs an intensional approach to understand the nuances of makeup representation by queer beauty vlogger Deta Cahyaa in his YouTube channel. Through observational and documentary methods, the analysis reveals that queer representation in makeup has evolved beyond societal myths, transforming into a professional representation rather than reinforcing traditional stereotypes. The findings, illustrated through videos titled "Tutorial Makeup Dragon Makeup Halloween" and "Serum Foundation Pixy Makeup Going Out," contribute to reshaping perceptions surrounding makeup artists within the queer community. This study sheds light on the broader implications of makeup as a non-gender-bound profession. Abstract

This qualitative descriptive research aims to explore how Generation Z perceives the use of Twitter, particularly the @CNNIndonesia news account, as a platform for news discovery. Employing purposive sampling, in-depth interviews, and observations, the study reveals that followers retain knowledge obtained from @CNNIndonesia, emphasizing the critical role of perception indicators in influencing their attitudes. The informants express a preference for @CNNIndonesia, citing its reliability and alignment with their information needs. The results underscore the significance of perception in shaping user behavior on Twitter as a news source. Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study employs Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis to explore and elucidate the representation of glowing skin in the MS Glow For Men advertisement featuring Marshel Widianto and Babe Cabita. The research aims to depict how the portrayal of glowing skin is constructed in the advertisement and its impact. The findings reveal a depiction of a man with radiant, fresh, and brighter skin without altering its natural color. The scenes suggest that using MS Glow For Men enhances confidence and happiness, enabling men to appear more handsome irrespective of body type or skin tone. This advertisement challenges prevailing societal myths by featuring men with diverse characteristics, debunking the notion that skincare ads exclusively showcase individuals with fair skin, ideal body types, and conventional hairstyles. The implications of this study underscore the transformative potential of inclusive representations in beauty advertisements. Abstract

This research aims to investigate the necessity of conflict management for fostering organizational health. A healthy organization not only survives environmental changes but also adapts and develops in the long term according to established visions and missions. Utilizing the In-depth Interview and documentation methods, primary and secondary data sources were employed, including literature and internet resources. The qualitative data analysis involved data reduction and presentation. Findings reveal conflicts among operators at a fuel station, specifically concerning discipline, lack of responsibility, and insufficient cooperation in scheduling holidays. Interviews with a station supervisor highlight frequent conflicts, creating discomfort in the workplace. The study suggests the need for proactive conflict resolution strategies in fuel station management to enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
