Abstract

Abstract. Ordered Multiple Choice (OMC) is an alternative diagnostic instrument to measure students' conceptual understanding. This instrument is rarely developed in high school physics material especially on energy. Moreover, accommodating the advancement of computer and technology, the development of OMC online instruments offers much ease of use. The purpose of this study is to develop an OMC Online instrument on energy materials for high school students. This research was conducted using four building blocks development steps which consist of construct map, items' design, outcome space and measurement model. The results showed that the OMC Online energy’s instrument construct map consists of 3 sub-materials, namely work and energy concepts, work and energy relationships and energy conservation laws. The OMC online instrument of energy consists of 22 valid items with a reliability parameter of 0.80 and difficulty level around easy to moderate. Keywords: Ordered Multiple Choice (OMC), Energy, Diagnostic Instrument Abstrak.

Abstract

In the context of university quality insurance, student satisfaction became one of the main indicators of service success given by the institution. Measurement of student satisfaction became an invaluable input for the institution to determine the direction of urgent improvement. This study aimed to describe student satisfaction with academic services and analyzed the quality of academic services to produce measurable improvement suggestions. This research involved students in the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Mulawarman University, as the respondents, which are 165 students, representing 6 study programs selected by Stratified Random Sampling technique with the stratum length of study, which fill the online questionnaire. The instrument used is an adaptation of the Student Satisfaction Survey (SSI). The analysis results showed that the academic services in Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Mulawarman University still need to be improved because 50.9% of respondents stated satisfied, but 49.1% stated not satisfied. The level of student satisfaction by gender tends to be the same, i.e. 2.51 for male students and 2.53 for women, while based on study period and GPA tends to increase with the duration of the study period and the increasing GPA. According to Importance-Satisfaction Matrix, the quality of academic services put all dimensions in the second quadrant, which means that the dimensions of satisfaction had been quite good. Keywords: Academic Service; Quality; Student Satisfaction; University

Abstract

This observation aimed to understand the laboratory regulations, assess the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the laboratory, evaluate management practices, examine the completeness of laboratory equipment and materials, and observe the arrangement of laboratory space, equipment, and materials. This research was conducted in the basic biology laboratory at a university in East Kalimantan. The method employed in this research involved interviewing laboratory assistants and observing the laboratory conditions. The observations indicated that Laboratory A and B had complete personal protective equipment. However, there were some differences. For instance, the equipment and materials were complete in Laboratory A, whereas in Laboratory B, they were incomplete because the laboratory was newly built. Another difference was in the usage of the laboratories; Laboratory A was used for practical sessions, seminars, and classroom activities, while Laboratory B was solely utilized for practical exams. For future researchers, it is suggested that laboratories be explored for both practical sessions and classroom activities, rather than just classroom spaces.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the percentage of HOTS-level physics questions and the cognitive level and dimensions of knowledge of HOTS-level physics questions on the class X SMAN/MAN summative exam in Bontang. These questions were analysed based on Bloom's revised taxonomy: cognitive level and knowledge dimensions. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The subject of this research was four schools in Bontang city, including high schools A, B, C, and D. Data collection techniques use documentation techniques. The results of the research show that the percentage of HOTS-level physics questions is 12.2%, with the percentage of each question code being 5% for question code A, 15% for question code B, 20% for question code C, and 16% for question code D for cognitive level C4.In contrast, cognitive levels C5 and C6 are not found in the summative exam question document. The cognitive level in the summative exam questions includes C1 to C4 and factual, conceptual and procedural knowledge dimensions. The knowledge dimension in the HOTS level question is dominated by the procedural knowledge dimension, while there is only one question in the conceptual knowledge dimension. Future physics should consider the balance of cognitive level and dimension in school assessment.

Abstract

Performance assessment is an authentic assessment that can be done with various kinds of assessments such as written assessments, observation, and assignments that can provide better feedback on performance and skills. Learning using STEM-EDP model is a learning that encourage students enggagement and in line with performance assessment. The topic in this lesson is climate change, that is relate with with global issue and suitable for STEM-EDP learning. The purpose of this study was to find out how the performance assesment category of class VII F students at Public Junior Highschool in Samarinda. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The sample of this research was 31 students who were taken by cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were student worksheets and student performance rubrics. The results of the study obtained a process performance value of 78.3 and 78.6 which describes the process performance in the good category. The product performance values are 81.3 and 83.9 which fall into the very good category. The performance of students need to be promoted by more STEM EDP learning especially in junior high school level.
