Abstract

This study aims to determine Analysis of Factors That Influence Buying Decisions in The Covid-19 Pandemi Era (Case Study in Bear Brand Drinking Milk Beverage Products). This type of research was s quantitative correlation with a cross-sectional approach. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. The analysis technique used was multiple regression analysis. The independent variables were product quality, price, promotion, and testimonials and the dependent variable was buying decisions. Methods of data analysis using multiple linear regression with the SPSS 25.0 program. Based on the data analysis shows that: (1) It was found that the Product Quality variable (X1) in buying decisions (Y). It was known that the Sig value for the effect (X1) on (Y) was 0.211 > 0.05 and the tcount value was 1.262 < t table 2.000, so it can be concluded that H1 was rejected which means there was no effect (X1) on (Y). (2) Price (X2) on buying decisions (Y) It was known that the Sig value for the effect (X2) on (Y) was 0.913 > 0.05 and the tcount is-0.110 < t table 2.000, so it can be concluded that H1 was rejected which means there was no effect (X2) against (Y). (3) It was known that the Sig value for the effect (X3) on (Y) was 0.043 <0.05 and the tcount was 2.061 > t table 2.000, so it can be concluded that H1 was accepted which means there was an effect (X3) on (Y). (4) It was known that the Sig value for the effect (X4) on (Y) was 0.478 > 0.05 and the tcount was 0.714 < t table 2.000, so it can be concluded that H1 was rejected which means there was no effect (X4) on (Y). Product quality was needed to increase consumer attractiveness. The importance of optimizing affordable prices to be able to compete in the trade market. Attractive promotions can lure customers to always use the same product. Testimonials in an interesting manner by conveying relevant.

Abstract

Background: The maritime industry's increasing emphasis on holistic well-being and environmental responsibility necessitates a reevaluation of traditional training methods. This research evaluates maritime education program effectiveness in preparing cadets for industry demands, uniquely integrating health and sustainability with vocational competencies. This study aimed to evaluate the adequacy of current maritime education in preparing cadets for the physical, mental, and vocational demands of seafaring, and to identify methods for better integrating health and sustainability into the curriculum. Methods: This qualitative study explored cadet preparedness in maritime education, focusing on health, sustainability, and vocational competencies. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 30 participants, including maritime experts, lecturers, and graduates, selected for their diverse perspectives. Classroom and training observations supplemented interview data, providing a holistic view of current practices. Thematic analysis was employed to identify key themes related to competency development and sustainability, allowing for cross-group comparisons. Finally, narrative synthesis integrated findings into a cohesive understanding of how maritime education can better prepare future seafarers. This multi-method approach ensured a comprehensive and triangulated dataset, enhancing the robustness of the research findings. Results: The results indicate that current programs effectively prepare cadets for physical and vocational challenges, and sustainability practices are incorporated. However, there is a need for enhanced mental health support and deeper integration of contemporary sustainability practices. Conclusions: To ensure a resilient and sustainable workforce in the evolving maritime industry, it is crucial to refine maritime education by balancing physical, mental, and vocational competencies with comprehensive sustainability training.

Abstract

Background: This study addresses gaps in maritime education by focusing on integrating sustainability, health management, and competency development, driven by the increasing global emphasis on sustainable operations and the mental and physical demands on seafarers. Uniquely examining the effectiveness of current curricula in meeting these emerging needs, this research provides fresh insights into their integration and highlights areas for improvement. The primary objectives were to explore the extent of this integration and assess whether current training adequately prepares students for evolving industry demands, particularly in environmental sustainability and mental health management. Methods: To investigate the integration of sustainability, health management, and competency development within maritime education, this study adopted a qualitative methodology. We conducted semi-structured interviews with five experienced lecturers and 25 recent graduates, gathering their insights and experiences. The interview data was then analyzed using thematic analysis, with cross-group comparisons to highlight differing perspectives. Alongside the interviews, observational notes and audio recordings were used to enrich the data. This approach allowed us to evaluate the efficacy of current training programs in preparing future seafarers, pinpointing areas for improvement and suggesting practical recommendations Results: The findings indicated that although maritime education effectively develops technical competencies, there are significant gaps in the integration of sustainability and health management. Both lecturers and graduates emphasized the need for more practical sustainability training and enhanced mental health support. While competency development was generally rated positively, participants called for curricula to adapt to emerging maritime technologies. Conclusion: This research underscores the necessity of evolving maritime education to better equip future seafarers for the industry's environmental and psychological demands. Recommendations include strengthening the integration of sustainability and mental health support within the curriculum, as well as ensuring that training remains current with technological advancements in the maritime sector.

Abstract

Background: Maritime professionals face intense physical and mental demands, yet vocational education often overlooks structured fitness and balanced nutrition, focusing primarily on technical skills. This study explored the impact of integrating these elements on cadet endurance, cognitive function, and career sustainability, addressing a gap in existing research that rarely assesses fitness and nutrition systematically. Through qualitative insights from lecturers, graduates, and cadets, this research aimed to identify implementation challenges and evaluate perspectives on fitness scheduling, dietary adequacy, and career preparedness, ultimately offering practical recommendations for enhancing maritime training programs. Methods: This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and participant observation to explore the integration of physical training and nutrition in maritime education. Participants included 5 lecturers, 10 graduates, and 25 cadets, providing diverse perspectives. Data analysis followed a thematic qualitative approach, including cross-group comparisons and narrative synthesis, to identify recurring patterns and develop evidence-based recommendations for enhancing maritime training programs. The study assessed cadet performance, endurance, and career preparedness through indicators such as engagement in physical activities and perceived nutritional adequacy. The findings aimed to contribute to a more resilient and health-conscious maritime workforce. Results: Findings indicate that structured physical training improves cadet endurance and teamwork, while nutritional planning remains inconsistent, affecting energy levels and long-term health. Cadets expressed challenges in balancing fitness with coursework, suggesting the need for optimized scheduling and nutritional education. Conclusions: To enhance maritime workforce sustainability, institutions should integrate structured physical training, standardized meal plans, and nutritional awareness programs. Future research should assess long-term effects of fitness and dietary habits on seafarer health and career performance.

Abstract

Badan Layanan Umum memiliki aset yang harus dikelola dengan baik dan didayagunakan. Optimalisasi pemanfaatan aset negara pada kawasan Menara Suar Cikoneng di Provinsi Banten yang dikelola oleh BLU Distrik Navigasi Tipe B Tanjung Priok merupakan bentuk upaya pendayagunaan untuk memberikan nilai lebih dari aset yang dimiliki. Dengan sarana prasarana yang ada pada Menara Suar Cikoneng saat ini terdapat rumah penjaga menara suar dan gedung Graha Kala Jivam Asti yang dikelola sebagai penginapan dan lahan yang tersedia di sekitar Menara Suar juga digunakan untuk kegiatan UMKM setempat serta penyelenggaraan event. Pengelolaan saat ini dilakukan secara swakelola dan telah memberikan kontribusi terhadap pendapatan serta memberdayakan masyarakat UMKM setempat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi potensi dan strategi pengembangan kawasan Menara Suar Cikoneng. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis SWOT terhadap kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kawasan Menara Suar Cikoneng memiliki potensi strategis dari sisi lokasi, nilai sejarah, dan luas lahan, namun juga menghadapi tantangan berupa risiko bencana dan terbatasnya transportasi umum.

Abstract

Angkutan penyeberangan sangat dibutuhkan sebagai penyedia sarana transportasi antar pulau. Pelabuhan penyeberangan menyediakan sarana keterjangkauan antar pulau tersebut. Pelabuhan Taipa di Sulawesi Tengah telah terhubung dengan Pelabuhan Kariangu (Kalimatan Timur). Rute perintis tersebut telah disediakan oleh pemerintah melalui keberadaan pelabuhan penyeberangan, sedangkan kapalnya disediakan oleh perusahaan swasta dengan dukungan dari pemerintah melalui skema kewajiban pelayanan publik. Terdapat kapal penyeberangan yaitu KMP. Swarna Kartika yang melayari rute tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan survei terhadap kapal tersebut. Sampel dipilih dengan random sampling. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pelayanan angkutan penyeberangan di kapal KMP. Swarna Kartika dan menganalisis aspek yang harus ditingkatkan pada pelayanan penumpang, pemuatan kendaraan, dan pengoperasian kapal. Hasil penelitian ini adalah tingkat kesesuaian pelayanan penumpang di KMP. Swarna Kartika mencapai 47,36%, kesesuaian pelayanan pemuatan kendaraan sebesar 57,14%, dan tingkat kesesuaian pada pelayanan operasional kapal sebesar 75%. Tingkat kesesuaian tertinggi ada pada operasional kapal, diikuti oleh pelayanan pemuatan kendaraan. Adapun kesesuaian yang paling rendah adalah pelayanan terhadap penumpang. Tingkat pelayanan kurang sesuai dengan Standar Pelayanan Minimal (SPM) angkutan penyeberangan sehingga kapal tersebut belum memenuhi kesesuaian dengan peraturan yang berlaku. Terdapat indikator yang perlu diperbaiki agar SPM angkutan penyeberangan terpenuhi yaitu aspek pelayanan penumpang, pemuatan kendaraan, dan pelayanan operasional kapal.

Abstract

Ethical decision-making is vital in maritime operations, where actions impact safety, sustainability, and professionalism. Islamic principles, grounded in integrity, responsibility, and justice, offer a culturally relevant foundation for ethical education in maritime training. However, their systematic integration into cadet curricula has not been extensively explored. This research addresses this gap by aligning Islamic principles with practical ethical training, employing case-based learning as a pedagogical tool. The study focuses on how Islamic values and case-based learning can foster ethical competence, critical thinking, and professional readiness among first-semester cadets. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, surveys, and classroom observations involving 15 experienced maritime lecturers. Thematic analysis was conducted to assess cadets’ development in ethical decision-making, evaluate the effectiveness of case-based learning, and identify integration challenges. The results reveal that integrating Islamic principles significantly enhanced cadets’ ability to analyze scenarios, identify ethical dilemmas, and propose solutions aligned with these values. However, challenges such as variability in cadets’ prior ethical knowledge and the lack of culturally relevant case studies were identified. This research provides a practical framework for ethical education in maritime training, highlighting the importance of culturally aligned curricula and experiential learning. The study contributes to preparing cadets for ethical and professional challenges in global maritime contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of ISM Code Implementation and Crew Competence on Safety Awareness and its effect on Work Accident Prevention among crew members at PT Asia Maritim Temas. The main issue faced is the low level of safety awareness and the high number of work-related accidents among crew members, which affects the operational safety of the vessels. This research employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 155 ship officers selected through saturated sampling. Data collection was done using questionnaires, and the data were analyzed using SmartPLS to examine the direct and indirect effects between the variables. The results show that ISM Code Implementation has a significant effect on Safety Awareness and Work Accident Prevention (t-value = 3.750), while Crew Competence also has a significant effect on Safety Awareness and Work Accident Prevention. Both variables also have an indirect effect on Work Accident Prevention through Safety Awareness. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the ISM Code and the enhancement of crew competence can improve safety awareness, which in turn can prevent work accidents on board. It is recommended to strengthen the implementation of ISM Code and safety training programs for crew members. Future research could explore this topic in more depth using a qualitative approach to better understand the challenges and perceptions of crew members regarding the implementation of safety measures

Abstract

MV. Megah Pacific is a Cargo Container ship. This ship carries container cargo from the port of Surabaya to the Port of Waingapu. This ship supplies basic material needs and carries other necessities. Container ships have various cargoes such as eggs, soap, rice and other heavy equipment which will be unloaded and loaded from the port of Surabaya to the port of Waingapu. For smooth loading and unloading of container ships, mobile harbor cranes are needed at the port of Surabaya. A crawler crane located at Waingapu port and assisted with a hydraulic pump in carrying out opening and closing hatches, shifting, anchoring. Background to the problems that occurred at Mv. Megah Pacific is a hydraulic pipe leak. In this case, the researcher aims to review the causal factors of the impact of a hydraulic pipe leak in terms of the loading and unloading, shifting and anchoring processes so that they run smoothly. This research aims to identify the causes of hydraulic pipe leaks, to find out the role of hydraulic pump aids and hydraulic pipes as supporting tools for the smooth process of loading and unloading, shifting, anchoring, to find out how efforts are made to optimize hydraulic pipe leaks so that the loading and unloading process , shifting, lego anchor is not hampered. This research uses qualitative methods, observation data collection methods, interviews and documentation, miles and hub data analysis methods. Researchers found that the influencing factor in the process of loading and unloading, shifting, and anchoring was lack of hydraulic pipe maintenance, resulting in corrosion of the hydraulic pipe which resulted in hydraulic pipe leaks. MV. Megah Pacific merupakan kapal Cargo Container kapal tersebut membawa muatan Container dari pelabuhan Surabaya menuju ke Pelabuhan waingapu kapal ini memasok kebutuhan bahan pokok maupun membawa kebutuhan keperluan yang lainya. Kapal jenis Container memiliki berbagai muatan seperti bahan pokok telur, sabun, beras, maupun muatan alat berat lainnya yang akan dibongkar serta dimuat dari pelabuhan Surabaya menuju pelabuhan Waingapu, Untuk kelancaran dalam pelaksanaan bongkar muat kapal Container dibutuhkan alat bantu mobile harbour crane yang terdapat dipelabuhan Surabaya dan crawler crane yang berada di pelabuhan Waingapu serta di bantu dengan pompa hidrolik dalam pelaksanaan buka tutup palka, shifting, lego jangkar. Latar belakang masalah yang terjadi di Mv. Megah Pacific adalah kebocoran pipa hidrolik dalam hal ini peneliti bertujuan mengulas faktor penyebab dari dampak kebocoran pipa hidrolik dalam hal proses bongkar muat, shifting, lego jangkar agar berjalan dengan lancar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab kebocoran pipa hidrolik, untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran alat bantu pompa hidrolik serta pipa hidrolik sebagai alat pendukung untuk kelancaran dalam proses bongkar muat, shifting, lego jangkar untuk mengetahui bagaimana upaya yang dilakukan untuk pengoptimalan kebocoran pipa hidrolik agar proses bongkar muat, shifting, lego jangkar tidak terhambat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, metode pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, metode analisis data miles dan hubermen. Peneliti menemukan bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi dalam proses bongkar muat, shifting, lego jangkar adalah kurangnya perawatan pipa hidrolik sehingga terjadi korosi pada pipa hidrolik yang mengakibatkan kebocoran pipa hidrolik. Adapun saran yang peneliti utarakan adalah untuk lebih memperhatikan kembali perawatan pipa hidrolik agar dalam proses kegiatan bongkar muat, shifting, lego jangkar berjalan dengan baik dan maksimal, melaksanakan familiarisasi dalam hal dampak kebocoran pipa hidrolik untuk menjadi wawasan dasar bagi awak kapal serta yang terakhir adalah dibutuhkan kerja sama antara pihak darat crawler crane untuk bisa digerakan apabila pihak kapal mengalami kebocoran pipa hidrolik, agar pelaksanaan bongkar dapat berjalan.

Abstract

This research investigates the integration of maritime law education and navigation skill development within vocational school settings. By leveraging qualitative methods, the study engages maritime professionals and vocational educators to assess curriculum effectiveness and alignment with industry standards. Key findings highlight the importance of practical application in maritime law education, emphasizing case studies and scenario-based learning to prepare cadets for real-world challenges. Simulator training emerges as pivotal in developing navigation skills and critical decision-making abilities essential for safe maritime operations. The study also underscores the significance of regulatory compliance, advocating for continuous curriculum adaptation to meet evolving STCW and IMO regulations. Recommendations include enhancing collaboration between stakeholders, expanding experiential learning opportunities, and integrating regulatory awareness throughout educational frameworks. By fostering these initiatives, vocational schools can nurture competent maritime professionals equipped to navigate global maritime challenges while upholding safety, sustainability, and regulatory standards.
