Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine students' critical thinking skills in terms of mathematical resilience. This study used a qualitative research design with a descriptive method. The research was conducted at SMPIT Nurul Islam Tengaran, Semarang Regency, Central Java, during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research subjects were 29 eighth-grade students. The data collection techniques used were a mathematical resilience questionnaire, a critical thinking test, and interviews. The questionnaire was used to determine the category of mathematical resilience. A written essay test was used to assess students' critical thinking skills. Interviews were conducted based on high, moderate, and low mathematical resilience categories. Two students with dominant critical thinking skills were selected from each category. There were two students in the high mathematical resilience category, two in the moderate category, and two in the low category. The results of the questionnaire, written test, and interviews revealed that (1) students in the high and moderate mathematical resilience categories possessed five critical thinking skills, namely interpretation, analysis, inference, evaluation, and explanation, which were both good and complete; (2) students in the low mathematical resilience category only possessed two critical thinking skills, namely interpretation and analysis, which were both good and complete. Based on the research findings, mathematical resilience was found to have an influence on critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by learning in schools which is still teacher-centered, so that learning does not match students' interests and learning needs. The research aims to analyze teachers' needs in designing differentiated learning that accommodates all elementary school students' learning needs. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Researchers developed a questionnaire instrument that was given and filled out by prospective elementary school teacher students who were studying professional teacher education at universities in Semarang City. The results of the analysis of the questionnaire that had been filled out by respondents showed that prospective elementary school teachers still needed self-assessment and diagnostic assessment models for differentiated learning that could accommodate the learning needs of elementary school students. To be able to carry out differentiated learning, teachers need more detailed information about student profiles through student self-assessments and diagnostic assessments carried out by teachers so that learning will run effectively according to students' abilities, interests and learning abilities.

Abstract

Berdasarkan fakta masih banyak dijumpai para guru belum melaksanakan pembelajaran secara maksimal dalam pemecahan masalah matematika dalam lingkungan belajar numerasi. Pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dikuasai siswa sekolah dasar, khususnya mengenai pembelajaran berhitung. Perlu dilakukan  penelitian  untuk  memfasilitasi  kemampuan pemecahan   masalah   matematika   siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan bentuk nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 1 A dan 1 B SDN Ungaran 01. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji independent sample t test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan dalam penerapan model pembelajaran scaffolding terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada lingkungan belajar numerasi pada pembelajaran matematis siswa kelas 1, terbukti dengan nilai sig hitung 0,002 < 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran scaffolding dalam lingkungan belajar numerasi dapat memberikan perubahan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa

Abstract

This study explores the properties of semi-crystalline polyvinyl chloride (PVC) polymer as insulation material for low-voltage (LV) cables under high gamma radiation exposure. Test samples underwent gamma radiation (60Co) at doses of 25, 50, 100, 200, 400, and 800 kGy. The evaluation encompassed surface morphology, electrical conductivity, thermal characteristics, and mechanical properties via tensile tests. Electron microscopy observation indicated surface smoothing and flattening occurred at an irradiation dose of 800 kGy. Gamma radiation with increasing doses results in similar thermogram profiles with slight differences in melting temperature and residue mass. The sample irradiated at a gamma dose of 25 kGy generates an increase in the percentage of crystallinity, indicating the occurrence of crosslinking, while other doses exhibit a decrease of crystallinity with increasing radiation dose. Tensile stress significantly dropped up to 400 kGy but increased at 800 kGy. Elongation at break (EAB) decreased with higher gamma radiation doses. Overall, materials up to 800 kGy remained non-brittle, serving as effective insulators and demonstrating thermal stability within high gamma radiation exposure conditions.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis adalah salah satu keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang sangat penting bagi siswa. Namun pada kenyataannya, tingkat berpikir kritis siswa kurang optimal dan memerlukan pembelajaran yang berkualitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji kualitas pembelajaran model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan penilaian dinamis menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran diferensiasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Menyelidiki dampak kemandirian belajar siswa terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis. Mendeskripsikan keterampilan berpikir kritis yang berkaitan dengan pembelajaran mandiri siswa. Penelitian ini mengadopsi metode campuran tipe sequential explanatory. Pendekatan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada penelitian ini adalah aspek proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran model problem based learning dengan penilaian dinamis berpendekatan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berkualitas terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kemandirian belajar kelompok eksperimen berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Deskripsi kemampuan berpikir kritis ditinjau dari kemandirian belajar tinggi memenuhi semua indikator berpikir kritis; siswa dengan kemandirian belajar sedang memenuhi tiga indikator berpikir kritis; dan siswa dengan kemandirian belajar rendah memenuhi dua indikator berpikir kritis.

Abstract

The shift in learning paradigm from passive to active requires prospective teachers to design meaningful learning experiences, one of which is through a technology-assisted inductive approach. This study aims to analyze the content of lesson plans developed by prospective mathematics teachers to implement technology-supported inductive learning. Using a qualitative content analysis method, this study involved 15 prospective mathematics teacher students from the State Islamic University of Salatiga who had taken courses related to lesson planning. The data sources for this study were lesson plan documents based on inductive learning, including Problem-Based Learning and Discovery Learning. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify hidden patterns and themes. The results show that prospective teachers have integrated technology into each indicator of inductive learning, where the learning stages clearly begin from specific cases or problems to the generalization of concepts. This study contributes to providing an in-depth understanding of how prospective mathematics teachers translate inductive learning theory into lesson planning practices in the digital era, while also identifying aspects that need improvement in teacher training. Future research should investigate the relationship between the quality of lesson plan design and classroom teaching performance. Furthermore, comparative studies involving different technology platforms are needed to identify which tools best facilitate the conceptual discovery phase of inductive learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis representasi matematis siswa pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar berbasis etnomatematika Candi Gedongsongo. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 41 Semarang sebanyak 26 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan instrumen berupa tes uraian yang terdiri dari tiga soal. Data dianalisis berdasarkan indikator representasi matematis, kemudian dihitung persentase capaian pada setiap indikator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan representasi matematis siswa secara umum berada pada kategori sedang, dengan 31% siswa berada pada kategori rendah, 50% kategori sedang, dan 10% kategori tinggi. Temuan ini memberikan gambaran mengenai variasi kemampuan siswa yang dapat dijadikan pertimbangan dalam mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

The effect of Nb addition on the corrosion behavior of U–6Zr alloys within an aerated, demineralized water (DW) environment (pH 5.61) and its correlation of this addition with the mechanical and microstructural properties of the alloys were investigated. The U–6Zr–xNb alloys (x = 1, 4, and 7 wt.%) were synthesized by arc-melting U, Zr, and Nb. Additionally, the samples were mounted and polished, after which they were subjected to electrochemical corrosion analysis using a potentiostat. This evaluation was conducted in a DW medium (pH 5.6), representing an aerated atmosphere, at room temperature (27°C) and a potentiodynamic scan rate of 1 mV/cm2. The results demonstrate that Nb addition to the U–6Zr alloy, which yielded a U–6Zr–xNb (x = 1.4 and 7 wt.%) alloy, influenced the corrosion behavior in media, exhibiting a slightly acidic pH (5.61). Nb additions of up to 4 wt.% caused a continuous increase in the open-circuit potential, corrosion-current density, and corrosion rate (CR); however, these values decreased with the continuous increase in Nb concentrations to 7 wt.%. Furthermore, microstructural analysis via scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy revealed that the corrosion products across almost all U–6Zr–xNb test samples (x = 0, 1, 4, and 7 wt.%) were primarily stable uranium dioxide, which formed a protective layer, followed by oxynitride and zirconium(IV) oxide.Overall, the findings indicated that the varying Nb contents (1, 4, and 7 wt.%) dictated the CR, mechanical properties, and microstructure of the alloys. Ultimately, this study demonstrates the synthesis of U–6Zr–xNb alloys (x = 0, 1, 4, and 7 wt.%) with enhanced performance characteristics.
