Abstract

Abstract : The research aims to produce problem based learning module on buffer solution of eleven grade that is appropriate as teaching materials. The method used is a Research and Development recommended by Borg & Gall. The sample in this research was determined by disproportionate stratified random sampling and purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of data analysis on the questionnaire obtained: (1) evaluation of the expert judgment in terms of the feasibility of content, feasibility of presentation, feasibility of linguistic and feasibility of graph are respectively 89,74% (very high), 89,27% (very high), 92,5% (very high), and 85,23% (very high); (2) The readability test on initial field trials teacher response is 68,75% (high) and students response is 78,43% (high); and (3) The readability test on major field trials teacher response is 82,49% (very high) and students response is 85,14% (very high). It can be concluded that the module developed feasible used as teaching materials and has a high readability based on the responses of teachers and students.   Keywords:  problem based learning modules, buffer solution

Abstract

AbstractThis research was done with aimed to provide an overview of the science process skills of XI IPA grade students of SMAK Abdi Wacana on acid base titration material. The method of this research is a descriptive research. The technique used is measurement techniques and direct communication techniques by using instruments in the form of assessment sheets of science process skills and interview guidelines. The subjects in this study were 20 students of class XI IPA. The results obtained show that the average value of students in classifying is 78% in the highly skilled category. The average score of students in observing, measuring and interpreting data in a row is 60%, 68%, 68% in the skilled category. The average score of students in communicating and concluding successively was 48% and 45% in the less skilled category.Keyword: Science Process Skills, Acid Base Titrations

Abstract

 AbstractThe background of this research was low student achievment, and there were still many students who had difficulty in solving the problems of atomic structure and periodic elements system. This study was conducted to determine the errors and causes of errors made by students of tenth grade IPA of SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak in solving the problems of atomic structure and elements periodic system. The method of this research was descriptive research. The subjects in this study were 37 students of class X IPA 6 SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak. Essay-based test and free-guided interviews were used to collect the data. The results showed that the percentage of understanding essential concepts, understanding the relationship between concepts and understanding the use of concepts to solve problems were 76%, 22% and 2% respectively. There were several causes of students' error. Students did not understand the preresquisite concept and which concept to solve the problems. Students were also careless of reading and found so hard to concentrate which lead them to make mistakes. Abstract

AbstractResearch on the development of practical guideline based on science, environment, technology and society with the aim of adding teaching material products in the form of practical instructions. Practical guideline developed are appropriate to be used by determining the response of students and teachers to the product practicum instructions developer. the form of research used was a development research that adopted the Kemp device development model. The subject of this study was the seventh grade students with high, medium, and low ability as well as science teachers in junior high school 24 Pontianak. Data collection instruments ada used feasibility assessment, student respons questionaire and teacher respons questionaire. The results of data processing show that the practical guideline developed are suitable for use in learning. Results of assessment of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, language feasibility and graphical feasibility of 93%; 92.6%; 93.5% and 92.4% with very high criteria.The result of the student respons test and teacher respons to the total student achievement Products were 77,7% and 83,33% with high kriteria.Kata kunci: practical guideline, SETS based, mixed separation, feasibility

Abstract

AbstractThe background of this research are low result of students achievement in studying and there were still many students who have difficulty in material of simple inorganic and organic compound nomenclature. The aims of this research are to investigate  error and to determine that cause of students? errors of mechanical engineering SMK-SMTI Pontianak. The method of this research is descriptive study. As many as 28 students of XC participate on this research. Essay tests and free guides interview are used to collect the data. Based on the result, It could be known that the students? error in understanding of essential concept is lack of understanding several concepts of : element symbol, element name, element location in group, symbol and name of ion, charge or oxidation number, differentiating between elements and poliatomic ions, and name of compound. The students? error in understanding use of concepts to solve problem are : error in using concept of writing name of compound, and error in using concept of writing chemistry formula. The causes of students? error are students had difficully in remembering concept and managing time to study, forget the prerequiresite concept, and had lack of carefulness in reading and finishing the test.Keywords: Description, Error, Cause of Error, simple inorganic and organic compound nomenclature

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Serasan pada materi koloid dengan menggunkan metode praktikum berbasis Numbered Heads Together (NHT). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 30 orang. Setiap siklusnya terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Aktivitas siswa dikatakan meningkat apabila telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan ≥ 50% dan hasil belajar meningkat apabila mencapai indikator keberhasilan ≥ 70% setelah diterapkan metode praktikum berbasis Numbered Heads  Together (NHT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Aktivitas siswa pada siklus I sebesar 41,10% dan siklus II sebesar 61,10%. Hasil belajar pada siklus I sebesar 53% dan siklus II sebesar 90%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa metode praktikum berbasis NHT dapat dijadikan suatu alternatif dalam proses pembelajaran. Kata kunci     : Aktivitas, Hasil belajar, Metode praktikum, NHT, Koloid     Abstract: This research aims to improve the activity and learning outcomes of students of class XI IPA SMAN 1 Serasan the colloidal material by using practical methods based Numbered Heads Together (NHT). This research is a class act. The instrument used in this study is the observation sheet and test results of learning. This study consisted of two cycles with the number of students as many as 30 people. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Said to be increased if the student activity has achieved success indicator ≥ 50% and increased learning outcomes when achieving success indicator ≥ 70% after application of practical methods based Numbered Heads Together (NHT). The results showed an increase in the activities and student learning outcomes. Activity of students in the first cycle of 41.10% and 61.10% for the second cycle. Results of study on the first cycle by 53% and the second cycle by 90%. Based on the research that the lab-based methods can be used as an alternative NHT in the learning process. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan perbedaan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan model Starter Eksperimen dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode konvensional serta menentukan besarnya pengaruh model Starter Eksperimen terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 1 pada materi koloid. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel ditentukan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh dipilih kelas XI MIA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian adalah tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi aktivitas belajar siswa, dan wawancara. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara aktivitas dan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan model Starter Eksperimen dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode konvensional. Penggunaan model Starter Eksperimen pada materi koloid memberikan pengaruh sebesar 22,24% (ES = 0,59) terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.   Kata kunci: Starter Eksperimen, aktivitas, hasil belajar Abstrak: The aims of this research was to determine difference in activity and  learning outcomes of students who are taught using a model of Starter Experiment with the students taught using the conventional methods and determine the influence of Starter Experiment model of the learning outcomes of students of class XI SMA Kemala Bhayangkari in the material colloid. The from of research was a quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The samples was determine on samping technique that selected class XI MIA 2 as an experiment class and Class XI MIA 1 as the control classes. Research instrument are a test of learning outcomes, observation sheet of student activity, and interview. The results of  data analysis showed that there was difference in activity and learning outcomes between students who were taught using Starter experiment model with students who were taught using conventional methods. The use of Starter Experiment model to the  material of colloid influence of 22.24% (ES = 0.59) toward the improving student learning outcomes. Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to determine whether there is a difference between the motivation of students' learning grade X IPA MAN 1 Pontianak on the material of electrolyte and non electrolyte solution using contextual teaching and learning model and using conventional model, whether there is difference between student learning outcomes in electrolyte and Non electrolytes using contextual teaching and learning models and using conventional models, and determine how much effect the contextual teaching and learning model of student learning outcomes. The samples in this research are the students of class X IPA1 as control class and class X IPA3 as experiment class. The result of data analysis using U-Mann Whitney test showed Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.038 so that Ho is rejected (Ha accepted), it indicates the difference of learning motivation of control and experiment class students. Hypothesis test of learning result using U-Mann Whitney test yield Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00, so Ho is rejected, this shows the difference of the students' learning outcomes of the control class and the experimental class. Learning using contextual teaching and learning model provides an increase in learning outcome of 65.3%.Keywords: Contextual teaching and learning, learning motivation, learning result, electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa media pembelajaran Chemistry Board (ChemBo) yang layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran IPA pada materi zat adiktif dan psikotropika. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan ialah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Terdapat tujuh tahap dalam model pengembangan ini yaitu penelitian pendahuluan, melakukan perencanaan, mendesain produk awal, uji coba lapangan awal, revisi produk awal, uji coba lapangan utama dan revisi produk akhir. Penilaian kelayakan ditinjau dari segi kegrafikan, kebahasaan dan materi. Subyek penelitian yaitu siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Pontianak dengan peringkat sekolah tinggi, sedang dan rendah untuk dilakukan uji coba lapangan terhadap respon pengguna produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kelayakan dan tingkat  respon pengguna berturut-turut sebesar 85,60% dan 87,9%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Chemistry Board (ChemBo) sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA-kimia materi zat adiktif dan psikotropika. Kata Kunci: Media, Chembo, Zat Adiktif Psikotropika. Abstract: The aim of this study was to produce a learning media called ChemBo (Chemistry Board) which is fit to be used in learning process especially in addictive and psychotropic substances of science learning material. The method of this research is Reasearch and Development (R&D). There are seven steps in this method, which are research and collecting information, planning, developing initial form of product, preliminary field testing, preliminary product revision, and the last is final field testing and final product revision. A feasibility assessment in terms of graphic side, linguistic and material. Research?s subjects were junior high school students in Pontianak with the high, moderate and low school?s ranked for conducted field trials on the product. The study results showed that the level of feasibility and level of user respectively were 85.6% and 87.9%. Based on the result, media ChemBo (Chemistry Board) was really appropriate used in addictive and psychotropic substances of science learning material. Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research was to improve the result of student’s learning on the eleventh science grade of SMA Negeri 5 Singkawang in colloid material through Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectualy (SAVI) learning model. The form of this research was Classroom Action Reseacrh (CAR). Subject of this research 19 students on the eleventh grade of science of  SMA Negeri 5 Singkawang. Observation sheet and test were used as instrument of research. Before using the instrument, it was tested it’s validity and realibility. The validity used Gregory test and the realibility used Alpha Chronbach formula. Based on the result of validity for each first cycle which was qualified in high category and the realibility in first cycle and second cycle were r11 =0.5215 which was in medium category and r11= 0.225 was in low category. The action in this research consisted of two cycles and serial cycles consist of four phases which are planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The research result showed that there were improvement toward students learning result by implementing SAVI learning model. The percentage of students learning result in first cycle and second cycle were 57.89% and 78.94% respectively.  Keyword: classroom action research, learning result, SAVI, colloid
