Abstract

Helical pile can provide an alternative for wood pile over peat soil. The reaserch studied about the effect of spacing of helical plates to uplift capacity of helical pile and compared to wood pile and helical without pile. The spacing of helical plates used were 20, 30, and 50 cm. Uplift iltimate capacity was interpreted by Tangent Intersection and Terzaghi and Peck method. Theoritical uplift capacity of helical pile was calculated using Iindividual Plate Bearing and Cylindrical Shear method. Based on the result, correlation of uplift capacity and spacing of helical plates was not linier proportional. Spacing of helical plates 30 cm showed the biggest capacity compared to space 20 and 50 cm. According to interpretation method, the uplift capacity of helical pile approach to Cylindrical Shear mechanism better than Individual Bearing. More over, helical pile had a greater uplift capacity compared to wood pile or helical without pile. Keywords: Helical Pile, Spacing of Helical Plates, Peat soil, uplift Capacity, Wood Pile, pile without helical.

Abstract

Clays are soft soil which have a low bearing capacity. One of the methods to determine the soil bearing capacity is CBR (California Bearing Ratio). Research on Laboratory for determining CBR value of soil generally performed on condition of optimum moisture content or fully saturated soil. This research evaluates the CBR value of clays with various fly ash contents from OMC to fully saturated. The results showed that, when the soil is compacted at OMC conditions, the effect of saturation resulted will decrease the CBR value up to 67% of CBR unsoaked. When soil is compacted with moisture content above the OMC, increase of water content resulted will decrease the CBR value up to 24%. Furthermore, the addition of fly ash content is effective to improve the CBR value between 20% -25%.  Key Words: CBR, water content, clay, fly ash

Abstract

The soil that classified as CL-ML soil have range of plasticity index around 4% s/d 7%, and liquid limit with range 12% s/d 30% according to the Casagrande Plasticity graph, this soil condition is very susceptible to the addition of water content so that cause soil at winter season being easily melted as a porridge and cracked as of existed at retrieval specimen location at dry season. This retrieval specimen location located at Government Office of Pekanbaru Area, Indonesia. This situation being problem if there is construction work above it such as road construction. Soil restoration is necessary for stabilizing soil. In this case used stabilizing soil chemically. Ihis research focuses to cycle process of wet-dry toward soil mechanical characterize effect that stabilized by cement. This research result showed that value of unconfined compressive strength toward wet-dry cycle have different values. Cement addition to CL-ML soil get very significant increasing of unconfined compressive strength. Highest increasing unconfined compressive strength is on 7 days curing, 3x 24 hours, drying second cycle about 1.636,51 kPa, this thing caused by cement that contained in 7 days cured soil reacted and turned into paste dan eventually cement that contained in soil start hardened, so that is able to increasing unconfined compressive strength value high enough. Keywords: Wet-dry cycle, UCS, CL-ML, cement stabilization.

Abstract

Helical pile can provide an alternative for wood pile over peat soil. The reaserch studied about the effect of amount of helical plates to lateral capacity of helical pile and compared to wood pile and helical without pile. The amount of helical plates used were L, 2L, 3L, LM, and LMS with spacing 50cm. Lateral ultimate capacity was interpreted by Tangent Intersection and. Theoritical lateral capacity of helical pile was calculated using Broms method. Data obtained from experiments in the form of load and displacement described in the normal scale and interpreted by using method tangen of intersection. It is known that increasing the addition of the same diameter of helical plate will increase the lateral bearing capacity of helical pile. But if the bottom of helical plate is smaller then the addition of helical plate no significant effect on the lateral bearing capacity although the helical plate on it larger.Loading experimental results were compared with the result of calculation lateral bearing capacity used Broms method. From the comparison note the lateral bearing capacity of the field is greater than analytical lateral bearing capacity. Keywords: Helical Pile, amount of Helical Plates, Peat soil, lateral Capacity, Wood Pile, pile without helical.

Abstract

Application of helical pile to support structures constructed on peat is still a new method. Research is needed to discover ability of helical fondation replace wood pile. There were 6 different helical piles, wood pile, and plain pile embedded in peat. This research aimed to determined the behavior from effect of diameter variations helical plate to lateral bearing capacity of helical pile on peat soil. The distribution process lateraly load based on constant rate of penetration procedure with eccentricity 500 mm and 300 mm. The calculation of lateral bearing capacity theoretically using the method of Brinch Hansen (1961) and Methods Broms (1964). Interpretation method used are standard lateral failure structure. The addition diameter helical plate will Improved lateral bearing an average of 25 N. Reduction of the eccentricity value by 20 cm will increased the lateral bearing capacity average of 39 N. The results of trial and error in determined the cu correlation value is 0.05cu.Keywords: Helical Pile, Plate Diameter, Peat, Lateral bearing Capacity, Eccentricity, Wood Pile.

Abstract

Soil condition heaps of times be a problem in a construction work, it is cause the condition soft soil layer have low permeability. Soft ground improvement with vertical drain  is complex analysis for consolidation, got in on space  of prefabricated vertical drain  (PVD). Space is influential at times of settlement. If space too small then it’s not economical, because it will more point to installation PVD. So, did analysis comparison Chai et al method and average method. This comparison between the two method give the result is not to be different, so installation PVD should be with space 1,5 m. it’s from the result with soil data of PLTU Riau. Abstract

Peat soil slope stability is influenced by soil properties, the depth of the water table and the effect of loading or surcharges. Land conversion on areas can cause changes in peatland hydrological balance that led to a decrease in ground water level and causing slope failure. This study analyzes slope stability modeling based on the limit equilibrium principle by Morgenstern-Price method. The current peat slope collapse in the Bengkalis Island North Coast continue to occur by progressive despite to the decline in groundwater levels provide increasing peat slope safety factors. Keywords: Peat slope stability, groundwater level, limit equilibrium slope analysis

Abstract

Ground high plasticity have the properties is bad so do not meet the technical requirements desired. The properties owned land in the form of low bearing capacity, compression (compressibility) high, sweilling large, and difficult to carry out the work of compaction, it is necessary for the stabilization of the soil. One of the ways used to solve problems among other things stabilized with cement. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of OPC cement type or PCC at high plasticity ground against the carrying capacity of land, CBR and UCS. Testing was conducted on the physical and mechanical properties of soil, compaction parameters, CBR and UCS. The standard test used is ASTM. Variations cement used is the addition of 6%, 8%, 10% for each OPC cement and PCC. Curing is done before the test CBR and UCS, the curing time for 28 days on the condition of optimum water content. Results from the study showed that the increase in the maximum CBR value occurs in a mixture of 10% which is 139.70% to 116.43% OPC and for PCC. The maximum value of UCS also occur on the addition of cement by 10%. In the cement mixture with OPC, qu max by 1.44 MPa and 2.43 MPa with a mixture of cement PCC.Keywords: curing, high plasticity, stabilization, cement

Abstract

The practice of gambling is growing day by day in various levels of society, from the lower classes to the upper classes. This was proven when the Pesisir Selatan Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim) arrested 7 (seven) mothers who played playing card gambling in Kampung Samudera, Kenagarian Surantih, Sutera District, Pesisir Selatan on October 21, 2017. But before taking the route criminal law in general, this case has been resolved by customary law in Pesisir Selatan by receiving customary sanctions. This research is a descriptive analytical study. The approach used in this study is a normative juridical approach supported by an empirical juridical approach. From the results of the research it can be explained that: First, the application of customary sanctions in the settlement of gambling crimes in Pesisir Selatan Regency, is by considering local rules and discretion made by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pesisir Selatan Police. Where deliberation leaders, traditional, religious and family leaders hold a meeting, the results of the deliberation are conveyed to the police so that the suspects will be given customary sanctions, in the form of requiring them to walk from the location of arrest to one of the mosques, and vowing not to repeat the act again. Second, the obstacles to the application of customary sanctions in solving gambling crimes in Pesisir Selatan Regency are internal obstacles to the police and external obstacles to the police. There are settlement steps that can be taken in overcoming the obstacles that occur in overcoming gambling with preventive and repressive measures.
