Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya literasi sains dan kreativitas siswa  dalam memecahkan  masalah  yang merupakan  hasil proses pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan menekankan pada kemampuan  siswa  untuk mencari  pengetahuan  atau pengalaman  belajar  adalah Siklus Belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (quasi experiment)  dengan  desain  pretest  and posttest  control  group design.  Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTsN Darma Kabupaten Kuningan dan sampel diambil dengan menggunakan dua kelas dengan teknik simple random sampling.  Kelompok  eksperimen  diberi  perlakuan  model  pembelajaran  siklus belajar,   sedangkan   kelompok  kontrol  menggunakan   pembelajarannya   secara konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi, tes literasi sains, lembar  kerja  kreativitas  siswa,  dan  angket  respon  siswa.  Berdasarkan  hasil penelitian dan analisis data, diperoleh rata-rata N-gain literasi sains sebesar 0,276 untuk kelas kontrol termasuk kategori rendah dan 0,439 untuk kelas eksperimen termasuk kategori sedang.   Sedangkan rata-rata N-gain  kreativitas  siswa dalam memecahkan masalah sebesar 0,547 untuk kelas kontrol termasuk kategori sedang dan  0,695  untuk  kelas  eksperimen  termasuk  kategori  sedang.  Hasil  pengujian hipotesis literasi sains dengan menggunakan uji Paired Samples t Test, diperoleh thitung   =  13,397   kelas   eksperimen   >   thitung   =  8,966   kelas   kontrol,   hal  ini menunjukkan  bahwa  literasi  sains  siswa  dengan  menggunakan  model  siklus belajar  lebih  baik  daripada  penggunaan  model  konvensional.  Sedangkan  hasil perhitungan kreativitas siswa diperoleh thitung = 41,869 kelas eksperimen > thitung = 23,370   kelas  kontrol,   hal  ini  menunjukkan   bahwa   kreativitas   siswa  dalam memecahkan  masalah  menggunakan  model  siklus  belajar  lebih  baik  daripada penggunaan model secara konvensionalKeywords: Siklus Belajar; Literasi Sains; Kreativitas Siswa

Abstract

The study of X grade biology in high school shows that teachers have not utilized the school environment such as school garden and school field as a medium of learning. School environments are potentially exploited for learning on biodiversity materials, because school environments have a lot of plant diversity in both gene, species and ecosystem levels, as well as the students' science literacy skills are still low that affect student learning outcomes. Therefore overcome these problems one of them is by applying the learning that can cover the science not only from the side of theory, but from the application also is the learning of CTL combined with the utilization of school environmental media. The purpose of this study is to increase the ability of science literacy and to know the improvement of students' cognitive achievement after using CTL learning through the utilization of school environment media on the material of plant biodiversity. The research design used was pre test-post test control group design. In this research design there are two groups selected by purposive sampling, that is group of X grade MIPA-2 as experiment class and  X grade MIPA-1 as control class. Based on the results of research and data analysis, the average gain of science literacy is 0.63 point for the control class seen as the medium category and the average gain for the experimental class is 0.80 point seen as the high category. It means that CTL program through school media environment gives an improfement to science literacy of student, While the average of gain students' cognitive achievement score is  0.29 point for control class see as low category and 0,68 for experiment class seen as medium category. It means that CTL program through school media environment gives an improvment to student’s cognitive achievement. The result of hypothesis testing on posttest data of science literacy, t count > t table (8,829 > 2.015) there is significant difference of posttest value between experiment class and control class. Whereas in posttes data of learning result t value > t table (8,763 > 2.015) there is difference significantly mean posttes value, between experiment class and control class. Observation result of CTL learning implementation through utilization of school environment media can be done very well, at inquiry stage with percentage of 88%, community learning stage 87%, questioning stage 87%, real assessment stage 88%. Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the implementation of lab activities based Vee diagram to bring out students metacognitive skill and increasing students' learning achievement to the excretory system. Quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent control group design was conducted to the classes. Lab activities based Vee diagram was implemented to the experimental class and lab activities based guided inquiry was implemented to the control class. The sample was determined by purposive sampling technique. Data of the research was obtained from student’ worksheet that applying metacognitive strategies and the result of  pre test and post test. Metacognitive skills of experimental class is higher than the control class. Based on analysis, metacognitive skills of experimental class was 75.0 and metacognitive skill of control class was 67.8. Learning achievement of experimental class is higher than control class. The results of the test showed an increasing (N gain) of learning achievement experimental class was 0.53 and control class was 0.41. T test showed t count > t table, which means that there are significant differences between pre-test and post test. Correlation test results showed the corellation between metacognitive skills and learning achievement is very high at 96.7%Keywords: Vee diagram; Guided inquiry; Metacognitive skill; Learning achievement

Abstract

Paradigma pendidikan sains sudah mengalami perkembangan dalam proses pembelajaran salah satunya kemampuan penalaran dan keterampilan berargumentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan penalaran dan kualitas argumentasi siswa pada konsep sistem pencernaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan quasi eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian secara umum siswa pada kelas eksperimen memiliki kemampuan penalaran dan kualitas argumentasi memiliki korelasi positif yaitu 0,614. Sebagian besar kualitas argumentasi siswa memiliki rata- rata skor 1,37 yang berarti kualitas argumentasi siswa berada pada level 1 sampai dengan 2, hal ini disebabkan karena siswa hanya dapat memecahkan masalah dasar dan belum dapat mengemukakan argumentasi yang baik secara tertulis. Abstract

Background of this research was lowmastery of concept to Sciencesubject in SMP Negeri 3 Sindang Indramayu that was caused of the learning method that were not the student centered and low student attention toward the environment conservation and clean. The purpose of the research was to know the application Project Based Learning Model with the Science of Society Technology Approach to increase the mastery of concept and the student attention attitude toward the environment. The method of the research is Quasi Experimentwith Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this research wereall the students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 3 Sindang in the academic year 2017/2018 that was consist of 8 classrooms in the total of 256 students. The sampling technique of the research was Purposive Random Sampling.  The class that was become a sample was grade VIIC (the control class PJBL without The Science of Society Technology Approach) that was consist of 32 students. Abstract

Research   objectives   analyze   the   feasibility,   increase   creativity,   learning outcomes and student responses to project based learning (PjBL) learning models in making organic pesticides.  The results of the study was found that: The PjBL model of making  organic  pesticides  can  develop  students'  creativity.  The  results  of  the significance hypothesis test 0,004<0.05, the initial hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, meaning that there is a difference in the average creativity of students between the experimental class and the control class. Abstract

The focus of the problem in this study is student's low learning achievement and scientific attitude on the subject of Respiratory System. To anticipate these problems, it is necessary some effort to improve the student's learning achievement and scientific attitudes, by implementing the Guided Inquiry-Based Practicum. The research method used a combination methods of research (mixed methods), which uses the design of Exploratory Design. This study used two treatment groups, experimental class (class VIII-E, 34 students) implementing guided inquiry-based practicum, and control class (class VIII-A, 34 students) using ordinary practicum. Instrument used in this research are observation sheet of learning implementation, learning result test, student performance test, and student response questionnaire to implementation of guided inquiry based practicum. The result of descriptive analysis shows that the mean score of the student's learning achievement of experimental class is 75,59 and the control class is 61,18. The result of research data used t-test Paired Sample. Based on hypothesis test results obtained sig.0.000 <&#945; (0,05) then H0 rejected and H1 accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry-based practicum can improve learning achievement and scientific attitudes of students of SMPN 2 Plered on the subject of human respiratory systemKeywords: Guided Inquiry; Based Practicum; Learning Achievements; Scientific Attitudes

Abstract

The literacy skills of science and technology in Indonesia is still low, and results from study science in Indonesia is still categorized as low. One of the efforts is the use of effective learning media that can ultimately improve the quality of learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the increase of science and technology literacy through interactive multimedia-based learning on the material of pollution impact for life. This study is Quasi Experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study are all students of class VII of MTsN 7 Majalengka. The research sample is class VII E as many as 40 people. Analysis of the data used is normality test, homogeneity Wilcoxon test data from pretest and posttest. From this research found: 1) Characteristic of interactive multimedia based learning is video displays, video content, animations, contains questions, and narration to clarify video displays. 2) Characteristics of interactive multimedia is to have more than one media convergent (in the form of images, animation and video), interactive which is able to accommodate a user response, and be independent ie interactive multimedia provide convenience and completeness of the content so that it can use it without the guidance of others. 3) interactive multimedia-based learning can improve students' science literacy and technology in the material impact of pollution for life, by giving the conclusion increase is being considered. 4) Based on the results of questionnaires given to students after learning science by using interactive multimedia, student responses to the use of interactive multimedia, including in the medium category, meaning that most of the students in the experimental class had a good response to the interactive multimedia-based learning in science subjectsKeywords: Interactive Multimedia; Based Learning;  Literacy of Science; Technology

Abstract

This study is entitled the aims of study to analyze the implementation of the Group Investigation learning model, analyze differences in the creativity of student investigation between the control class and the experimental class, analyze the ability of student presentations between the control class and the experimental class and to determine the response of student’s to the learning. The research method used was the Quasy Experiment with the Nonequivalent Control Group research design. The population in this study were all students of X-MIA class 1 Jamblang Senior High School 2017/2018 Academic Year. The sample in the study were students of class X-MIA 3 as an experimental class using the Group Investigation learning model and X-MIA 6 class as a control class with Discovery Learning learning model. The results showed (1) the implementation of Group Investigation model learning was carried out very well starting from the introduction to closing activities with an average percentage of 83.7%. (2) there are differences in student’s investigative creativity ability between the experimental class and the control class, in the creativity experiment class they investigate it better than the control class. (3) there are differences in presentation skills between the experimental class and the control class, in the experimental class student's presentation skills are better than the control class. (4) 53.3% of students gave a strong response, while the remaining 46.7% of students gave a very strong response, so that the average student gave a strong response to the Group Investigation learning modeKeywords: Investigative Creativity Ability; Presentation Ability; Group Investigation Learning

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' science process skills that are still low. Factors that cause low science process skills are low mastery of students' concepts of subject matter. The purpose of this study is 1) to describe the implementation of learning with the implementation of an advance organizer model based on concept maps on learning activities and student learning outcomes, 2) to determine the implementation of the advance organizer model based on concept maps can improve student learning activities, 3) to determine the implementation of the model advance organizer based on concept maps can improve student learning outcomes on the concept of the reproductive system, 4) to find out the response of the students to the implementation of the advance organizer model based on concept maps of learning activities and student learning outcomes. The method used in this study is mixed methods research. The sampling technique is cluster random sampling in two classes, namely the experimental class and 40 students for the control class. The research instrument used is the student activity task and rubric, concept mastery essay test, student response questionnaire on learning and teacher and student activity observation sheets. Data analysis techniques used are normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing statistics shows the value of Sig. amounting to 0.415> 0.05, with a value of t = 4.855 with Sig. 0,000 <0,05 means that the implementation of the advance organizer model based on concept maps can improve student learning activities on the concept of the reproductive system in class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Lumbung, Ciamis Regency. Based on the results of hypothesis testing statistics shows the value of Sig. amounting to 0.422> 0.05, with a value of t = 8.336 with Sig. 0,000 <0,05 means that the implementation of the advance organizer model based on concept maps can improve student learning outcomes in the concept of the reproductive system in class XI of SMA 1 Lumbung, Ciamis Regency.
