Abstract

The construction of shophouses (ruko) as a commercial area requires effective project planning and control to ensure timely completion. This study aims to analyze the application of the Network Planning method in scheduling a shophouse construction project in Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with the Critical Path Method (CPM) and Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) approaches. The research data include the type of work, activity duration, and dependency relationships between activities obtained through field observations, interviews, and project planning documents. Data processing was carried out using the POM for Windows application to determine the earliest start time, latest finish time, slack value, and the project's critical path. The analysis results show that the total project duration is 253 days with the critical path dominated by physical construction activities, especially structural work and the installation of doors and windows. The PERT analysis shows that core construction activities have the highest level of time uncertainty. Thus, the application of Network Planning is proven effective in assisting the planning and time control of shophouse construction projects.

Abstract

This study seeks to evaluate how effective the Network Planning method is when using the Critical Path Method (CPM) and Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) in scheduling the construction of the Free Nutritious Food Program (MBG) facility in Medan Amplas District. A descriptive quantitative research method was used, involving data collection through field observations and interviews with those managing the project. The data were processed using QM for Windows software to identify the critical path and estimate the project's completion time. The findings show that the ideal completion time for the MBG project is 72 days, which is faster than the actual time taken, which was 90 days. The critical path for the project was found to be A–C–D–E–F–G–H–I–N–O–P–Q–T. The results highlight that using CPM and PERT enhances time efficiency and improves the ability to manage the project effectively. As a result, Network Planning acts as a valuable tool for project managers to help ensure the successful execution of government infrastructure projects.

Abstract

Competition in the culinary industry requires restaurants not only to excel in product quality but also to manage their resources efficiently. This study aims to optimize employee assignment in the bar section of Ever Green Restaurant to minimize operational time using a scientific approach. The research employs a quantitative approach with a case study design, in which primary data were obtained through direct observation and time measurements of five bar employees performing five different beverage-related tasks. The collected data were then analyzed using the Hungarian Method based on the one man one task principle. The results indicate that the application of the Hungarian Method produces an optimal assignment configuration with a minimum operational time of 17 minutes. This assignment allocates each employee to the task most aligned with their competencies, thereby reducing waiting time and workload imbalance. These findings suggest that the application of optimization methods provides a more objective approach to improving operational efficiency and service quality in restaurants.

Abstract

Green economic growth is one of the goals of sustainable economic development. This study was conducted to investigate the dynamic interaction between the digital economy, unemployment, carbon emissions and green economic growth in Indonesia. The research data uses secondary data from 1990 to 2021 on an annual basis, resulting in a total of 32 observations. The data sources are from the Central Statistics Agency and the World Bank, with an estimation approach using the ARDL method. The results show that the digital economy has a positive and significant effect on green economic growth, unemployment has a negative and significant effect on green economic growth, while carbon emissions have an insignificant negative effect on green economic growth in Indonesia. The implication of this research is that the government needs to accelerate the digital transformation of the productive sector. The alignment of digitization targets, labor absorption, and emission control in the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and national policies is also necessary.

Abstract

As a company engaged in the field of CPO transportation , PT Pelita Jaya is also present in carrying out expeditions from the loading location to the destination (unloading). The company faces challenges in allocating a total of 900 tons of CPO from three PKS PT PTPN IV (Bah Jambi, Dolok Hilir, Pabatu) to three destination depots (PT MNA, PT KPBN, PT SMART) to achieve the lowest cost. This study aims to optimize the cost of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) transportation at PT Pelita Jaya. The type of data used is primary data with data collection through interviews and observations field. Researchers use a transportation model as a quantitative approach from Operations Research. Solutions are sought using three methods: Northwest Corner (NWC), Vogel's Approximation (VAM), and Stepping-Stone. with POM QM for Windows as tool supporters data processing . The results identified the optimal allocation that minimizes total costs: Bah Jambi PKS (340 tons) is allocated entirely to PT MNA; Dolok Hilir PKS (260 tons) is allocated entirely to PT SMART (260 tons); and Pabatu PKS (300 tons) is allocated to PT MNA (60 tons), PT KPBN (200 tons) and PT SMART (40 tons). The application of this model has proven successful in providing strategic recommendations to minimize logistics costs and improve distribution efficiency at PT Pelita Jaya.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and analyze a transportation model to optimize the cost of shipping goods at PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE) Medan Branch Office which is driven by the challenges of cost management amidst the rapid growth of the logistics sector. The method used is a transportation model, specifically the initial solution approach North West Corner (NWC) and Vogel's Approximation Method (VAM), with the help of the POM QM application for Windows. The data processed includes the capacity of three large warehouses (gateways), namely Aceh, Kisaran, Pekanbaru and three small warehouses (dropcenters), namely Amplas, Gatot Subroto, Marelan, as well as the cost of shipping goods. The results of the initial allocation comparison show that both the NWC and VAM methods produce the same total transportation cost, namely Rp 5,477,900. However, this cost is not optimal. Furthermore, the calculation of the separate minimum driver wage using the Assignment Method resulted in a cost of Rp 578,000,- which is much lower than the total wage based on the NWC/VAM allocation of Rp 967,000,-. In conclusion, to achieve optimal operational cost efficiency, it is recommended that the allocation of goods distribution be integrated with the results of driver wage cost optimization.

Abstract

In Sibolga City there are several problems that must be resolved, such as high levels of poverty and low levels of life expectancy, health and education. This research aims to analyze the influence of health on the poverty level in Sibolga City and its relationship with the poverty level because life expectancy in Sibolga City is still relatively low. Data collection techniques used questionnaires with a sample size of 40 respondents, structured and unstructured interviews and observations on research objects with the variables Life Expectancy (X1), Health (X2), Poverty (Y1), and Education (Z). . The data analysis techniques used are simple regression analysis, hypothesis testing (t test and f test), coefficient of determination test and path analysis test. Based on the results of Fcount (163.572) > F table (3.25) it can be concluded that the hypothesis states that the variables Life Expectancy (X1), Health (X2) and Education (Z) have a joint (simultaneous) and significant effect on Poverty (Y) accepted. The results of the research show that life expectancy and health have an influence on poverty levels with education as an intervening approach in society. However, the health variable has no influence on education as an intervening variable in this study. So the researchers concluded that based on the data analysis carried out by the researchers there was a direct positive and significant influence on life expectancy, health and education on poverty in Sibolga. With an influence level of 57.9%.Keywords: Life Expectancy, Health, Education and Poverty
