Abstract

Efficient and effective employee data management is key to assessing individual performance within a company. This study identifies that the manual methods currently used by PT XYZ are time-consuming and inefficient, potentially leading to damage, loss, or lack of information. Therefore, this study aims to develop a web-based personnel information system using an iterative method and data collection through interviews. The system is built using the React JS framework and MySQL for data storage. Available features include the management of attendance data, leave, transfers, promotions, assignments, rewards, and penalties. The final results of the study show that this system functions well and can enhance the company's performance through more efficient data processing.

Abstract

The employee information system is a collection of interconnected subsystems related to employee data within a company, aimed at providing information on planning, organizing, operations, and decision-making. With technological advancements, this system is designed to manage the collection, processing, storage, and reporting of employee data and can be implemented in various organizations. This research designs a web-based employee information system for PT ABC, a logistics company with 25 employees that currently manages its workforce manually. The system handles recruitment, attendance, leave, and resignation processes, improving data integrity and facilitating management. With differentiated access rights for administrators, directors, and employees, as well as specific features for prospective employees, the system is expected to enhance the company’s operational efficiency.

Abstract

Backend constitutes a critical component of digital infrastructure, responsible for processing business logic, managing data, and facilitating communication between software systems. APIs serve as the interface that enables software interaction and plays a pivotal role in backend operations. This study investigates the performance of three API architectures: RESTful, GraphQL, and gRPC. The experimental approach involves the implementation of Load Testing and Stress Testing to assess the performance of these architectures. The experiment utilizes a dedicated server and client hardware to simulate real- world conditions, with parameters such as CPU usage, memory usage, response time, load time, latency, success rate, and failure rate evaluated using a dataset comprising 1,000 rows of student- related records. Result show that RESTful achieves the highest total request but exhibit greater resource consumption and a higher failure rate. GraphQL demonstrated better CPU and memory efficiency with strong stability, though it has higher latency and slower response times. gRPC strikes a balance with a moderate latency and resource usage, albeit with slightly higher memory consumption under stress. By presenting a comprehensive analysis of each API architecture, this study contributes a comprehensive performance analysis under practical testing scenarios giving developers and system architect with data-driven guidance for selecting API architecture to their application needs. RESTful is well suited for high-throughput scenarios with less critical operations, GraphQL excels in resource efficiency and stability, and gRPC offers balanced performance across diverse workloads.

Abstract

Saat ini pengembangan sistem atau aplikasi menjadi sesuatu yang sudah lazim dan mutlak dilakukan. Hal ini tentunya menjadi kebutuhan karena manfaatnya yang memudahkan para pengguna sistem dalam melakukan pekerjaannya. Pada umumnya, pengembangan sistem atau aplikasi dilakukan melalui serangkaian proses pemrograman atau dengan menulis baris-baris kode program yang akrab dikenal dengan istilah coding. Namun dalam perkembangannya saat ini, telah hadir istilah no code sebagai alternatif pengembangan sistem atau aplikasi tanpa melalui proses coding. Adapun penerapan pengembangan sistem no coding ini diterapkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa pelatihan oleh dosen lingkungan Universitas Multi Data Palembang dan yang menjadi peserta pelatihan ini adalah karyawan dari PT Dunia Kimia Utama. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini telah dilaksanakan pada Sabtu, 19 Maret 2022 pukul 09.00 s.d. 13.00 WIB secara online via aplikasi zoom. Kegiatan pelatihan ini telah selesai dilaksanakan dan berjalan lancar dengan metode ceramah dan presentasi, praktikum langsung, serta tanya jawab interaktif. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan tentang alternatif pembuatan aplikasi mobile dengan metode no code.

Abstract

The use of technology in data management has become the key to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of company performance. PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk has implemented a computerized employee attendance system through the Employee Self Service (ESS) application. However, so far there has been no evaluation regarding the level of user satisfaction with the application. This study aims to measure ESS user satisfaction to provide input in future application development. The method used is End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) which includes five variables: Content, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use, and Timeliness. Data was obtained through the distribution of questionnaires and analyzed using the SPSS application. The results of the t-test showed that the Format variable had the most significant influence (t = 4.281), while the other variable showed an insignificant influence individually. However, through the F test, an F value was obtained of 3.791 with a significance of 0.003, which shows that simultaneously all EUCS variables have a significant effect on user satisfaction. These results are expected to be the basis for companies to improve the performance of ESS applications and support the overall work efficiency of employees.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of web-based information systems in human resource management has increased the importance of evaluating website quality from the user perspective. This study aims to evaluate the quality of the employee payroll website at SPBU 23.301.34 using the WebQual 4.0 model, which consists of usability, information quality, and service interaction quality, as well as user satisfaction. A quantitative approach was employed using a descriptive and verificative research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to all active users of the payroll website, totaling 24 respondents, supported by observations and interviews. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity and reliability testing, and mean value analysis for each indicator and dimension. The results indicate that the overall quality of the payroll website is categorized as good. The usability and information quality dimensions obtained the highest mean scores, indicating that the website is easy to use and provides clear, accurate, and understandable payroll information. In contrast, service interaction quality received the lowest score, mainly related to system response speed and occasional technical issues during peak usage periods. Despite these limitations, user satisfaction remained at a moderately satisfied to satisfied level, demonstrating that the website provides practical benefits for employees. These findings suggest that the payroll website contributes to improving transparency and efficiency in payroll administration. However, improvements in system performance, stability, and data update processes are recommended to further enhance user experience and service quality.

Abstract

In the digital era, User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design play a crucial role in the development of both web and mobile applications. The advancement of digital technology also drives the need for efficient, easy-to-use, and user-centered service systems. Bengkel Jaya Toga still relies on pen and paper to manage customer vehicle queues, which potentially leads to issues such as disorganized queuing and the loss of daily reports. This research aims to design the UI/UX for the Bengkel Jaya Toga queuing and booking application by implementing the Design Thinking method. This method involves five steps: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing, which are key to understanding user needs. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The result of this research is a UI/UX design that includes service booking features, service queue management, service reports, and real-time service status information. Testing of the design indicates that the application design can improve service efficiency, ease of use, and user experience. Thus, the application of the Design Thinking method has proven effective in producing a UI/UX design that meets user needs and supports the improvement of service quality at Bengkel Jaya Toga.

Abstract

Website merupakan salah satu media strategis dalam menyampaikan informasi dan memperkuat citra perusahaan. Rhetoric Academy adalah sebuah kursus bahasa Inggris di kota Palembang yang telah menggunakan website untuk keperluan promosi dan penyajian informasi. Evaluasi awal website menggunakan User experience Questionnaire short version menunjukkan bahwa aspek pragmatic quality dan overall berada di bawah rata-rata (below average), sementara hedonic quality berada di atas rata-rata (above average). Selain itu, hasil wawancara dengan Chief Marketing Officer dari Rhetoric Academy mengungkapkan sebuah masalah yang dihadapi oleh kursus saat ini, yakni kelas tidak dapat berjalan tanpa adanya pengawasan dari instruktur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dan merancang ulang UI/UX dari website Rhetoric Academy menggunakan metode design thinking. Pengujian prototype dilakukan secara terpisah berdasarkan pengguna aplikasi, yaitu menggunakan metode UEQ untuk peserta kursus dan Remote usability testing untuk admin dan instruktur. Hasil pengujian bahwa pengguna website sudah cukup puas dengan hasil rancangan ulang, serta penilaian excellent pada seluruh aspek UEQ dan sedikit perbaikan prototype.

Abstract

This study aims to design the user interface and user experience (UI/UX) of a web-based ticket booking system for Bird Park Palembang. Currently, the ticket purchasing process is still conducted manually at the ticket counter, which results in long queues, limited access to information, and inefficient services, particularly during weekends and public holidays. In addition, Bird Park does not yet have an official website that provides centralized information regarding ticket prices and operating hours.This research employs a qualitative approach using the Design Thinking method, which consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data were collected through direct interviews with Bird Park employees and visitors, field observations of the ticket purchasing process, and documentation of the promotional media used. The empathize stage was carried out to identify user problems and needs, which were then formulated in the define stage. Design solutions were developed during the ideate stage and implemented in the form of a UI/UX website prototype. Furthermore, the test stage involved users to evaluate ease of use, clarity of information, and interface comfort.The results indicate that the proposed UI/UX design is able to improve the efficiency of the ticket booking process and provide a better user experience compared to the manual system. Therefore, the application of the Design Thinking method is effective in producing a UI/UX design that meets user needs and supports improvements in service quality at Bird Park Palembang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Sistem Informasi Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi (LSP) P1 UMDP menggunakan metode Waterfall sebagai solusi atas permasalahan administrasi yang sebelumnya berjalan secara manual. Pengembangan dilakukan melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi menggunakan framework Laravel, serta pengujian dengan black box testing. Sistem yang dihasilkan mampu mengatasi kendala utama seperti kesalahan input, duplikasi data, penyimpanan berkas fisik, serta lambatnya proses pendaftaran dan asesmen. Penerapan sistem berbasis web ini meningkatkan efisiensi kerja, akurasi informasi, dan konsistensi proses sertifikasi, sekaligus menyediakan pengelolaan data yang terintegrasi bagi asesi, asesor, dan admin. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan seluruh fungsi berjalan sesuai yang diharapkan, sehingga sistem layak digunakan untuk mendukung tata kelola sertifikasi kompetensi di lingkungan UMDP.
