Abstract

The research aims to increase critical thinking skills, interest in learning physics, and alternative energy materials through the PBL model. This type of research applies classroom action research (CAR) with the subject of research being class X.5 students at SMA 4 Pekanbaru, totaling 36 students. CAR is carried out in 2 cycles with the stages of each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection uses observation sheets, tests of critical thinking skills, and learning interest questionnaires. Data on critical thinking skills and interest in learning were analyzed descriptively through data obtained in cycles 1 and 2. The results of the research were: 1) students' critical thinking abilities increased from cycle 1 to cycle 2, based on observation results, it increased from the sufficient category in cycle I to the good category in cycle II and test results increased from middle category in cycle I to high category in cycle II, 2) students' interest in learning increased with a score of 76.08 in cycle I to 79.75 in cycle II with the same category, namely high. It was concluded that the application of worksheet students with the PBL model was able to improve the critical thinking skills and interest in learning of class X.5 students at SMA 4 Pekanbaru in learning physics about alternative energy materials.

Abstract

This research aims to measure students' level of analytical thinking in the Natural Sciences learning process about magnetism through the POE (Predict Observe Explain) learning model with the help of a magnetic KIT (Integrated Instrument Box). The research method applied is quantitative through a Quasi Experimental design. Research instruments include interviews, questionnaires, and posttests. The research subjects were control class IX.4 which participated in the conventional learning group and experimental group IX.5 which implemented a POE model with magnetic KIT media at MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru. Data was collected through a posttest of analytical thinking skills and analyzed using descriptive analysis and the Independent Sample T test. The analysis obtained shows a significant variation in average values in the experimental and control groups, in the POE group achieving a higher level of analytical thinking (67.16%) than the conventional class (55.16%). This shows the effectiveness of POE learning with the help of magnetic KIT in improving students' analytical thinking skills regarding the context of magnetic material.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe teaching-learning interaction in teaching physics by applying cooperative teaching in terms of the type of group investigation by the first-year students at SMAN 1 Tambang Kampar. The research instrument used in this research was observation sheet. It was used by aspect observed based on cooperative teaching in terms of the type of group investigation. The model aims to motivate the student, to set the problem in the group, to report the result of group activities, and conclude the lesson. The technic of data collection was by observing teaching-learning interaction, which happened in each aspect observed every two minutes during the teaching process. The data analysis was by counting the percentage of teaching-learning interaction. The result of this research showed that the interaction of teaching-learning between teachers and students, students and teachers, students, and students happened to each step in teaching activity. The highest percentage of teaching-learning interaction was in the problem-solving of group activity. Hence, cooperative teaching in term of the type of group investigation is able to create teaching-learning interaction which various in teaching.

Abstract

This research purpose to design an instrument capable to run directly bipolar transistors function as an amplifier in current, AC voltage, and as switching. This type of research is research and development, which is developing a basic application instrument for bipolar transistors. The testing to bipolar transistor elementary application instrument use measuring instrument of microampere meter, voltmeter, a generator function, and digital oscilloscope. The reached result indicates that this instrument can prove to gain the current and gain voltage of the transistor. That thing is seen from existence mean gain current 119,99 - 480. While voltage gain 1,46 - 5,29. Transistor application for switching found the fact that transistor starts to have as switching at the voltage base-emitter  0,58 - 0,7 Volt, the result is equal to a bipolar transistor barrier voltage to emission a current from pin emitter to pin collector.

Abstract

this study aims to determine the differences in students cognitive learning outcomes between using heuristic models and puzzle assisted media and conventinonal models in class X global warning material at SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. The research method used is a quantitative method, the population in this study is all class X students of SMAN 2 Pekanbaru and for sample selection using simple random sampling. The sample in this study was two classes, where one class consisted of 43 student. Class X.4 is the control class and X.6 is the experimental class. The instrument in this research was a written test in the form of a post-test consisting of 20 questions. The result of the data obtained are that the average value of cognitive learning outcomes for the experimental class is 87 and the control class is 75, so it can be concluded that the application of the heuristic vee learning model assisted by puzzle media is able to improve the learning outcomes of class X students on global warning material.

Abstract

In the era of technological and information development in the 21st century, it is important for students to improve their critical thinking skills in order to compete with the demands of an increasingly advanced era. Therefore, guided inquiry teaching is needed to train students to solve problems, make decisions, and develop critical thinking skills. This study aims to evaluate the effect of guided inquiry model with the help of PhET simulation on critical thinking skills of students of SMAN 5 Pekanbaru on dynamic fluid material. The research method used was Quasi Experiment with Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population of this research was all students of class XI SMAN 5 Pekanbaru, with samples of class XI Engineering 1 as the control class and XI Engineering 2 as the experimental class. The results showed a significant difference between the critical thinking skills of students taught using guided inquiry model assisted by PhET simulations with students taught using conventional learning models.

Abstract

E-learning is a system carried out via electronic media, such as computers, tablets, or smartphones. E-learning platforms provide greater flexibility and accessibility for students to access learning materials anytime and anywhere. Based on the analysis conducted, 85.9% of students felt happy with e-learning, and 88.5% of students felt comfortable with e-learning-based learning because the features contained in e-learning helped students understand the material and were easy to use. This research expects to develop and test the validity and practicality of the PBL-based Edukati platform in increasing students' valid and practical understanding of concepts. This research is development research carried out using the ADDIE-type instructional design model. This research was completed only up to the development stage, namely at the validity and practicality stage. In view of the aftereffects of the validity test, the result was 3.30. Based on the results of the teacher's practicality test, the result was 3.88 and the students’ practicality was 3.43, so it tends to be expressed that e-learning with an issue-based learning instructive stage to prepare comprehension understudies might interpret ideas in impulse and momentum material is in the valid and very practical category. Based on the results of the validity and practicality that have been carried out, e-learning with an educational platform based on problem-based learning to train understanding of concepts is suitable for use.

Abstract

The independent curriculum was developed as a more flexible curriculum framework, centered on basic material and developing students' uniqueness and abilities. One way that can be used to develop students' abilities is through learning media that is in accordance with student characteristics. This study aims to analyze students' interest in using learning media in the form of e-learning in physics learning. The research methodology used is a qualitative method using data collection techniques through teacher interviews and student response questionnaires. The objects of the study were several high schools in North Sumatra and Pekanbaru and a sample of 81 students. Based on the results of the student response questionnaire, 92.6% of students were interested in learning using e-learning, and 100% of students already had cellphones so that they supported the development of E-learning learning media. E-learning is one of the innovations in the field of education in the form of a learning system carried out through electronic media, such as computers, tablets, or smartphones that can be accessed without time and distance limits.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe an increase in students' interest in learning and scientific attitudes through the application of the flipped classroom blog on work and energy material in class X SMAN 5 Pekanbaru. This type of research used quasi-experimental, where the experimental class implemented the flipped classroom blog, while the control class used conventional learning. This research uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire of interest in learning and students' scientific attitudes. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially to see an increase in students' learning interests and scientific attitudes. The results of the research obtained an average score of learning interest in classes using the flipped classroom blog in learning of 3.02 in the moderate category with a gain of 0.4 while for scientific attitude after implementing the flipped classroom blog, it was 3.04 in the medium category with a gain of 0.3. Thus, both the interest in learning and the scientific attitude of the experimental class students got better results than the control class. Based on the hypothesis testing carried out, there was a significant increase in students' interest and scientific attitude in learning the material of work and energy. Therefore, the use of the flipped classroom blog can increase students' interest and scientific attitude in learning physics on work and energy material at SMAN 5 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the increase in students' interest in learning science by studying the concept of material classification and its changes, through mobile learning learning media. The research method uses a pretest-posttest control group design with quantitative data types. Data on students' learning interests was collected through distributing learning interest questionnaires before and after learning using mobile learning media. The research instrument was prepared based on ARCS learning interest aspects (attention, relevance, self-confidence, and satisfaction). Data were analyzed descriptively using a Likert scale and inferentially using the Independent Sample T-Test. The results of the research showed that students' interest in learning had increased in the experimental class with a good category of 83% and a very good 17%. Inferentially, a significant increase in interest in learning was obtained. These results provide the conclusion that the application of mobile learning media has a positive impact on increasing student interest in learning better in learning material classification and its changes in class VII Junior High School.
