Abstract

Tebedu (Malaysia) as a form of representation of identity negotiation in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive-comparative type of research. The data collection was carried out through participatory observation and visual documentation carried out in the Entikong area, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan and Tebedu, Sarawak State, Malaysia. The collected data were then analyzed based on Landry & Bourhis' linguistic landscape concept which consists of informational and symbolic functions of linguistic markers of public space. The results showed that the linguistic landscape in Entikong represented symbolic messages such as nationalism, anti-corruption and anti-drug campaigns, hero honor, and the strengthening of the rupiah currency. In contrast, the linguistic landscape in Tebedu displays symbolic messages in a more limited form through directional markers, usage instructions, appeals, prohibitions, local cultural icons, and local political slogans. This difference confirms that Entikong makes language a means of state ideology, while Tebedu positions the language of the public space as a means of functional communication. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan lanskap linguistik di wilayah Entikong (Indonesia) dan Tebedu (Malaysia) sebagai bentuk representasi negosiasi identitas di kawasan perbatasan Indonesia-Malaysia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif-komparatif. Adapun pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif dan dokumentasi visual yang dilakukan di wilayah Entikong, Kabupaten Sanggau, Kalimantan Barat dan Tebedu, Negara Bagian Sarawak, Malaysia. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan konsep lanskap linguistik Landry & Bourhis yang terdiri atas fungsi informatif dan simbolis terhadap penanda linguistik ruang publik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lanskap linguistik di Entikong merepresentasikan pesan simbolik seperti nasionalisme, kampanye anti-korupsi dan anti-narkoba, penghormatan pahlawan, serta penguatan mata uang Rupiah. Sebaliknya, lanskap linguistik di Tebedu menampilkan pesan simbolik dalam bentuk lebih terbatas melalui penanda-penanda petunjuk arah, petunjuk penggunaan, imbauan, larangan, ikon budaya lokal, dan slogan politik setempat. Perbedaan ini menegaskan bahwa Entikong menjadikan bahasa sebagai sarana ideologi negara, sementara Tebedu memosisikan bahasa ruang publik sebagai sarana komunikasi fungsional.

Abstract

Efektivitas komunikasi antar pengurus RT dan ketua gang di lingkungan RT masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti penyampaian informasi yang kurang persuasif, miskomunikasi antar ketua gang, serta rendahnya partisipasi warga dalam kegiatan lingkungan. Fenomena ini menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi praktis bagi pengurus RT agar koordinasi dan kolaborasi antar warga lebih optimal. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi lintas gang melalui pelatihan retorika terapan. Metode yang diterapkan meliputi ceramah interaktif, simulasi penyampaian pidato singkat, praktik komunikasi persuasif, dan refleksi pengalaman. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan kemampuan peserta dalam menyusun pesan, mengatur intonasi, serta menyampaikan informasi secara jelas dan persuasif. Rata-rata nilai postes mencapai 82,85, menandakan konsistensi peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi. Pelatihan ini juga berdampak pada efektivitas koordinasi antar pengurus RT dan ketua gang, tercermin dari keterbukaan dialog, responsivitas, dan penyampaian informasi yang lebih seragam. Simpulan dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini yaitu PKM memberikan kontribusi praktis dalam memperkuat struktur komunikasi lokal, meningkatkan kapasitas pengurus RT, dan mendorong partisipasi aktif warga, sehingga mendukung terciptanya lingkungan komunitas yang harmonis dan responsif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan serta merepresentasikan feminisme eksistensialis dalam novel berjudul Namaku Teweraut karya Ani Sekarningsih dengan novel Tanah Tabu karya Anindhita S. Thayf. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sastra perbandingan. Analisis data atau prosedur analisis penelitian dilakukan dengan cara membaca keseluruhan novel, menandai bagian-bagian yang dianggap sesuai dengan sasaran kajian feminisme eksistensialis, mereduksi bagian yang tidak termasuk kajian feminisme eksistensialis, mengklasifikasikan persamaan dan perbedaan hasil analisis, hingga menarik simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel Namaku Teweraut merepresentasikan suku Asmat yang masih menganut sistem poligami, perjodohan, perempuan tidak boleh mengambil keputusan atau memilih jalan hidupnya dan mengabaikan pentingnya pendidikan. Adapun novel Tanah Tabu mengisahkan suku Dani yang mengesampingkan pendidikan dan mengutamakan pernikahan karena perempuan tidak perlu belajar cukup mengurus keluarga dan patuh pada suami. Dalam kedua novel ini dijelaskan bahwa tokoh wanita tidak bisa mengenyam pendidikan secara bebas karena terikat dengan sistem patriarki.

Abstract

Indonesian language education in higher education institutions in Indonesia faces a major challenge due to the low literacy skills of students. One solution that can be applied is to use deep learning to improve language skills. This study aims to explore the application of deep learning in Indonesian language learning with a focus on historical language analysis, spelling checking (EYD), word choice (diction), paragraph composition, and scientific writing. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to identify and synthesize previous studies related to the application of deep learning in the context of learning. The results show that the application of deep learning can be a practical solution in efforts to improve students' understanding of Indonesian language rules through automatic feedback that helps improve spelling, sentence structure, and word choice. This approach accelerates the learning process, improves writing quality, and supports the development of students' scientific writing skills. Deep learning provides a more interactive and applicable approach to learning Indonesian in higher education.

Abstract

The rapid development of the times, especially in the digital era, demands that parents be able to adapt their parenting styles to educate children effectively. This community service activity aims to enhance parents’ understanding and skills in applying parenting approaches that are relevant to the needs of today’s children. The activity was conducted through an interactive lecture and QA discussion, attended by 24 parents representing each neighborhood (RT) in Sorogenen Hamlet, Bantul-DIY. The materials covered included the basic concepts of child and adolescent development, effective parenting styles, and digital parenting strategies such as gadget supervision and open family communication. Evaluation results showed increased participant understanding regarding the importance of authoritative parenting and the active role of parents in guiding children through the challenges of the digital era. This activity demonstrated that community-based parenting education is effective in shaping adaptive, reflective, and proactive parents in raising children. It is hoped that similar programs can be conducted sustainably to build a supportive and responsive family environment for child development.

Abstract

In the directive function, the language not only keeps the listener doing something, but also performs the activities that the speaker wants. The directive function is oriented to the message recipient. Based on the directive function of this language, it is hoped that this activity can be effectively applied to students as learners in the school to get positive messages from sentences that will be visualized in the school environment in the form of educative posters. This research is conducted in thise basic education institutions have targeted the achievement of s research is conducted in this basic educational institution has the target of achievement among which is giving education through poster design work which socialize code of ethics to solve common problem in school environment.. By making design work based on the need to raise the school code of ethics, it is hoped that this kind of community service activity will change the way of thinking of the school people to practice the behavior of the code of ethics both in school and community.
