Abstract

Agriculture plays a strategic role in supporting economic development and food security in Indonesia, particularly in South Sulawesi, one of the country’s primary rice-producing regions. Existing studies on agricultural productivity commonly rely on parametric or single-response models, which are less effective in capturing the nonlinear, locally varying, and interrelated characteristics of agricultural indicators. Addressing this research gap, the present study applies a biresponse nonparametric regression approach that integrates truncated splines and Fourier series to simultaneously model rice productivity and the food security index. This quantitative observational research uses secondary regional agricultural statistics, and the analytical procedure includes formulating the biresponse model, conducting diagnostic checks of key nonparametric assumptions, and estimating parameters using the Weighted Least Squares (WLS) method. Model selection was conducted using the Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) criterion, which indicated that rainfall was better approximated with truncated splines and extension workers with Fourier series. The optimal knot points were obtained at 1207.096 for rice productivity variable and 1207.556 for food security index variable, with one oscillation applied in the Fourier series and one knot for the truncated spline. The results show that the best model was obtained with the smallest Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) value of 21.38, a coefficient of determination of 94.85%, and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 9.68%. These results demonstrate the methodological advantage of the combined biresponse nonparametric model in accommodating complex data structures and provide actionable insights for policymakers in optimizing resource allocation, strengthening extension services, and enhancing food security strategies in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Food Program is a strategic policy to support students’ nutritional resilience and readiness to learn. This study examined students’ perceptions of the program and identified respondent profiles using the K-Means clustering algorithm. Data from 501 students were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed to determine distinct perception patterns. The results revealed five clusters with strong validity, indicated by a silhouette value of 0.917. Overall, 74.6% of respondents expressed positive perceptions, suggesting that the program has been well received and supports school nutrition. However, some groups reported concerns regarding menu variety and cleanliness at distribution points. These findings underscore the need for routine quality monitoring, standardized implementation procedures, and greater attention to service consistency. Future studies should also include objective indicators such as body mass index and school attendance to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of program impact

Abstract

Numerical solutions are an essential approach to addressing dynamical system problems involving differential equations. This study focuses on solving a modified SITR model for the spread of Hepatitis B using the Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) to obtain numerical solutions. The advantage of ADM lies in its efficiency and reliability in solving nonlinear problems without requiring linearization. The obtained solutions are presented as polynomial approximations for each compartment in the model. MAPLE software is employed as the primary instrument to implement ADM and perform numerical simulations. The analysis includes examining the behaviour of susceptible, infected, treated, and recovered populations over time. The implications of this study suggest that ADM-based numerical approaches can be a valuable tool for policymakers and health practitioners in predicting disease dynamics and supporting the development of effective intervention strategies for Hepatitis B.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and students' perceptions of the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in Indonesian language learning at SMP Negeri 1 Pallangga, Gowa Regency. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation involving three Indonesian language teachers and 15 students in grades VII and VIII. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that teachers designed project-based activities by referring to learning objectives, activity steps, media selection, and assessment rubrics. The implementation of learning followed the six main syntaxes of Project Based Learning (PjBL), although the reflection stage was not optimal due to time constraints. Student responses were generally positive, namely 13 out of 15 students stated that Project Based Learning (PjBL) increased their creativity, engagement, collaboration, and understanding. Challenges faced included time management and uneven group participation. Thus, the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model has the potential to improve the quality of Indonesian language learning through meaningful and contextual tasks.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the economic capacity and independence of the community through home-based entrepreneurship training in Takalar Regency. The primary challenges faced by the community include limited skills in developing home-based businesses, a lack of product innovation, and insufficient knowledge of marketing and business management. Therefore, this program was implemented as a community empowerment initiative, particularly targeting housewives and small-scale entrepreneurs, to enable them to transform local resources into products with economic value. The implementation method consisted of several stages, including observation, socialization, training, hands-on practice, and business mentoring. The training materials covered the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, home-based product processing, packaging techniques, basic digital marketing, and financial management for small businesses. The program was conducted using a participatory approach that actively involved community members in both the training sessions and production practices. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills in managing home-based businesses. Participants were able to produce more attractive products with higher market value than before. In addition, they gained a better understanding of the importance of marketing strategies through social media to expand their consumer reach. The program also positively influenced participants’ motivation to develop independent businesses as a means of increasing family income. In conclusion, home-based entrepreneurship training has proven effective in supporting community economic empowerment in Takalar Regency. This initiative is expected to serve as an initial step toward creating productive and sustainable enterprises based on local potential.
