Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of consumer satisfaction with rice attributes and consumer preferences in rice purchase decisions in the city of Surabaya. The location of the study was taken based on the highest rice consumption in East Java Province, namely the city of Surabaya. Sampling was done using the non-probability sampling method. The sampling technique uses an accidental convenience sampling technique based on the spontaneity factor. Data were collected from respondents based on surveys and in-depth interviews using questionnaires. The data analysis method uses Important Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customers Satisfaction Index (CSI). The results of the study showed an Important Performance Analysis (IPA) on each rice attribute. The durability attribute occupies the first position when viewed from the average level of importance and performance, both of which are the highest positions, namely with a value of 4.55 and 4.31. Physical traits occupy the second position from the average level of importance but the performance is still lacking with a value of 4.48. Kepulenan occupies the second position from the average performance level with a score of 4.11, but the level of importance is still lacking. Meanwhile, advertising is in the lowest position when viewed from the average level of importance and performance, both in the lowest position, namely with values of 2.46 and 2.96. Based on the results of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) analysis, it shows that overall consumers are satisfied with rice products with a satisfaction rate of 76.23%.

Abstract

Chili consumption is projected to continue to increase every year along with the increasing population in Indonesia, this is an opportunity for farming. Farmers responded to this by increasing chili production. The purpose of the study was to determine the preferences and attributes that consumers consider the most towards the purchase of large chilies. The basic research method is descriptive analytic. The research locations were chosen purposively in three sub-districts in Sukoharjo Regency, namely Sukoharjo, Kartasura, and Grogol sub-districts. Sampling was done by accidental sampling totaling 100 respondents. Data analysis used Chi-Square and Fishbein Multi-attribute methods. The results showed that the large chilies that became the preference were large chilies, bright red in color because consumers considered red to be perfect ripeness, had a glossy skin surface that represented the level of freshness, had thick skin, had a very spicy level of spiciness, and had a low price. The attributes that were considered the most in succession were skin surface, skin thickness, price of chili, type of chili, skin color, and level of spiciness. Recommendations that can be given are the use of varieties that suit consumer tastes such as IPB CH3 and IPB CH6 and maintain the quality of red chilies to maintain consumer trust.

Abstract

Cassava is a tuberous food commodity that has the potential to encourage the development of the country's economy. Wonogiri Regency is the region with the largest cassava production level in Central Java Province, but productivity and harvest area fluctuate and even tend to decline. This decline in productivity can disrupt the availability of cassava and lead to the unsustainability of cassava farming in Wonogiri Regency. Therefore, research on the sustainability of cassava farming in Wonogiri Regency needs to be conducted. The research was conducted in Ngadirojo, Tirtomoyo, and Pracimantoro sub-districts by taking a sample of 70 farmers. The method used in this study was Multidimensional Scaling (MDS). The results of the analysis show that multidimensionally cassava farming in Wonogiri Regency is less sustainable. Partially, the ecological, economic and technological dimensions are less sustainable, while the social dimension has a fairly sustainable status. Further analysis was conducted to determine the sensitive attributes that affect the sustainability status of each dimension. The most sensitive attribute in the ecological dimension is the availability of water during the planting period, the economic dimension is marketed crop yields, the technological dimension is the use of seeds from previous harvests, and the social dimension is conflict in farming.

Abstract

This research aims to determine internal and external factors, formulate strategies, and decide the priority of agribusiness MSME sustainability strategies in Sukoharjo Regency in the new normal era. This research uses basic descriptive and analytical methods. A total of 28 key informants were selected purposively. Data collection was completed through in-depth interviews. The research results depict that the most essential strength is the support of experienced human resources with particular specialties and the most significant weakness is the limited business capital. Meanwhile, product diversification becomes the biggest opportunity and a decrease in production due to the COVID-19 pandemic serves as the most challenging threat. The IE matrix demonstrates that the position of agribusiness MSMEs in Sukoharjo Regency is in cell V, which means keeping and maintaining that can be done with product penetration and development strategies. Alternatives to agribusiness MSME sustainability strategies are building synergies to increase market share with online marketing; improving the quality of human resources through training; establishing partnerships with suppliers to suppress raw materials; strengthening quality control to maintain quality; innovating the product; maximizing the ability of human resources and the management of product competitiveness; introducing, promoting, and discounting products; and increasing partnerships with large businesses. In the new normal era, the priority of agribusiness MSME business sustainability strategy in Sukoharjo Regency is building synergies to improve the market with online marketing.
