Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of science inquiry-based modul with authentic assessment to develop students’ inquiry skills and critical thinking. This research employed a quasi experiment method with pretest-posttest control group design. This research is conducted on 5th grade of one of Junior Elementry School in Pontianak, by using 2 classes as a sample. The data was collected by using inquiry skills observation sheets, and interview. The result shows that the mean of inquiry skills scores of experiment group is higher than the control group, and the significance score from using t-test is (0.00) < 0.05, which means there is a difference of inquiry skills in the experiment and control group. Score of N-gain shows that the mean of experiment group’s inqury skills score after the treatment, is higher than control group. It concludes that science learning by using inquiry-based is effective to develop students’ inquiry skills.

Abstract

Kawasan Konservasi Perairan di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir memiliki berbagai potensi yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi yang dapat dimanfaatkan secara berkelanjutan. Ekosistem mangrove yang cukup luas dan pantai pasir putih di Desa Pulau Cawan, serta potensi perikanan, habitat penting, sumber daya pesisir yang turut mendukung penghidupan ekosistem dan perekonomian masyarakat setempat, namun pengetahuan tentang jasa ekosistem yang diberikan oleh kawasan tersebut termasuk dampak kesejahteraan dari penetapan Kawasan Konservasi Perairan masih terbatas. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April—Desember 2022 di Kawasan Konservasi Perairan Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengestimasi nilai ekonomi jasa ekosistem kawasan menggunakan metode survei, yaitu melakukan wawancara langsung terhadap masyarakat yang memanfaatkan sumber daya kawasan dengan bantuan kuesioner, terdiri dari 100 responden. Analisis yang digunakan ialah menggunakan kerangka total economic value (TEV) dan millenium ecosystem assesment (MEA). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa nilai ekonomi jasa ekosistem Kawasan Konservasi Perairan di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir diperkirakan cukup besar, yaitu (US$10.009.176.460,22) per tahun atau sama dengan Rp151.819.119.562.076,00 per tahun, yang terdiri dari: nilai jasa penyedia sebesar Rp158.465.766.901,11 (0,10%) per tahun, jasa pengaturan Rp147.791.990.696.920,00 (97,35%) per tahun, jasa pendukung Rp3.862.168.227.413,18 (2,54%) per tahun, dan jasa kultural Rp6.494.870.841,00 (0,004%) per tahun sehingga diharapkan pemerintah daerah setempat dapat meningkatkan jasa ekosistem kawasan berdasarkan jasa lainnya dengan tetap memperhatikan keberlanjutan ekosistem Kawasan Konservasi Perairan.Title: Economic Valuation of Ecosystem Services in Marine Conservation Area in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province, IndonesiaThe Marine Protected Area in Indragiri Hilir Regency has various potentials with high economic value that can be utilized in a sustainable manner. The extensive mangrove ecosystem and white sand beach in Pulau Cawan Village, as well as fishery potential, important habitats, coastal resources which also support the livelihoods of the ecosystem and the economy of the local community. However, knowledge about the ecosystem services provided by these areas including the welfare impacts of the establishment of Marine Protected Areas is still limited. The research was conducted in April - December 2022 in the Indragiri Hilir Regency Marine Protected Area. The purpose of this study was to estimate the economic value of regional ecosystem services, using a survey method, namely conducting direct interviews with communities that utilize regional resources with the help of a questionnaire, consisting of 100 respondents. The analysis used is the total economic value (TEV) and millennium ecosystem assessment (MEA) framework. The results of the study show that the economic value of the ecosystem services of the Marine Protected Area in Indragiri Hilir Regency is estimated to be quite large, namely (US$ 10,009,176,460.22) per year or equal to IDR 151,819,119,562,076.00 per year, which consists of: the value of the service provider is IDR 158,465,766,901.11 (0.10%) per year, regulatory services IDR 147,791,990,696,920.00 (97.35%) per year, supporting services IDR 3,862,168,227,413.18 (2.54%) per year, and cultural services IDR 6,494,870,841.00 (0.004%) per year. So that it is hoped that the local regional government will be able to increase the area's ecosystem services based on other services while still paying attention to the sustainability of the ecosystem of Marine Protected Areas.

Abstract

The dynamics of farmer groups is influenced by internal factors, namely the farmer groups themselves and external factors. Namely the role of agricultural extension workers. This research was conducted in Tigapanah District, Karo Regency with the consideration that this sub-district had the second largest number of farmer groups in Karo Regency with a total of 349 farmer groups. This study aims to analyze the effect of the role of agricultural extension workers on the dynamics of horticultural farmer groups. The analytical method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. The results showed that the role of agricultural extension workers as facilitators, innovators, motivators, dynamists, educators, and consultants had a significant effect on the dynamics of horticultural farmer groups consisting of group objectives, group structure, task functions, group coaching and development, group cohesiveness, group atmosphere, group pressure, group effectiveness, and ulterior motives.

The results showed that the role of stakeholders in the management of marine protected areas in Indragiri Hilir Regency was grouped into: input (Provincial Environment and Forestry Service, Provincial Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service and Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries), stake (Village Head), output (Managers, group’s community, fishermen, and NGOs) and unused (Academics).

Abstract

The community of Lubuk Bendahara Village on oil palm plantations for their livelihood. Currently, the oil palm farmers are organized into five active farmer groups. The implementation of sustainable plantation practices, as required by the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification, presents both a challenge and a necessity for these farmers. According to Presidential Regulation No. 44 of 2020 and the Ministry of Agriculture Regulation No. 38 of 2020, companies and independent farmers must adopt sustainable practices by 2025. This situation requires the farmer groups to continually update their information. Website serves as an effective information system, providing accurate and beneficial information to enhance the role of these groups. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training on the use of the website luben.id, managed by the village and the farmer groups. The website contains information about the village profile, farmer groups, ISPO materials, and details about oil palm plantations. This activity, conducted from July to August 2024, involves MBKM student interns as agents of change. The outcomes include the establishment of website management, knowledge transfer, and enhanced media literacy among palm oil farmers, particularly in accessing information to support ISPO implementation.

Abstract

Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) merupakan salah satu upaya pemerintah untuk mencapai dan mendukung perkebunan dan pengelolaan kelapa sawit yang berkelanjutan dan bertanggung jawab. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pembinaan tentang penerapan ISPO khususnya penguatan kelembagaan pekebun kepada mitra pengabdian yaitu pekebun kelapa sawit swadaya di Desa Koto Tibun. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi tim pengabdian Unri dan juga dari Dinas Perkebunan, Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan Kabupaten Kampar. Pendampingan secara berkala terus dilakukan dalam upaya kelanjutan dari materi yang diperoleh dari pelatihan yang dilakukan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan pengukuran peningkatan pemahaman pekebun. Dari hasil posttest 62.5% pekebun meningkat pengetahuannya tentang kelembagaan pendukung, pekebun memahami bahwa dengan adanya kelembagaan, khususnya kelompok tani maka pekebun akan bisa mendapatkan informasi tentang budidaya yang pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan pendapatan, meskipun masih ada pekebun menganggap bahwa tujuan kelembagaan adalah untuk mendapatkan bantuan finansial dari pemerintah. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini, berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman peserta tentang kelembagaan petani kelapa sawit, tujuan pembentukan kelompok tani, pengaruh kelompok tani terhadap hasil panen kelapa sawit, dan pentingnya partisipasi dalam kelompok taniDari kegiatan pengabdian ini selanjutnya diinisiasi pembentukan kelompok tani dalam persiapan sertifikasi ISPO

Abstract

Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti memiliki komoditas unggulan kopi Liberika. Bisnis agroindustri kopi Liberika telah dikembangkan untuk memenuhi permintaan lokal dan ekspor. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk 1) mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penentu keberlanjutan agroindustri kopi Liberika, dan 2) menganalisis tingkat keberlanjutan agroindustri kopi Liberika. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus dalam agroindustri kopi Nurjaya. Dengan demikian, metode survei digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Mereka yang mengetahui dengan baik perkembangan kopi Liberia seperti pemilik bisnis kopi Liberia, instansi terkait, dan konsumen dilibatkan sebagai responden penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan prospektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 19 faktor yang menjadi pertimbangan dalam keberlanjutan agroindustri kopi Liberia. Tujuh dari 19 faktor memiliki pengaruh kuat dan tingkat ketergantungan yang rendah yaitu frekuensi pesanan, harga bahan baku, diversifikasi produk, promosi, penyesuaian permintaan konsumen, sistem pembayaran, dan beberapa pesanan.

Abstract

Opinion leader adalah aktor yang memiliki pengetahuan lebih baik dibandingkan petani. Opinion leader berperan melakukan komunikasi dan membina petani dalam usaha tani padi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakteristik petani, karakteristik opinion leader serta mengidentifikasi peran opinion leader di Desa Mentayan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu survei dan wawancara. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 516 petani dan sampel digunakan sebanyak 84 dengan teknik proportional random sampling, sedangkan opinion leader dengan teknik snowball sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik internal petani pada usia produktif, tingkat pendidikan level SMP, pengalaman usaha tani >15 tahun, luas lahan <0,5 Ha, tanggungan keluarga 3-4 orang dan kosmopolitan petani tinggi. Karakteristik eksternal petani yaitu intensitas penyuluhan, ketepatan saluran penyuluh dan jumlah sumber informasi pada kategori sangat tinggi. Karakteristik internal opinion leader berada pada umur produktif, tingkat pendidikan tinggi, jumlah tanggungan rendah, pengalaman berusaha tani lama, luas lahan sempit, status sosial ekonomi, inovatif, pengenalan media, empati, partisipasi sosial, dan kekosmopolitan berada pada kategori sangat tinggi. Karakteristik eksternal opinion leader yaitu intensitas penyuluhan, ketepatan saluran penyuluhan, dan jumlah sumber informasi pada kategori sangat tinggi. Peranan opinion leader di Desa Mentayan pada kategori berperan. Peran opinion leader tertinggi pada peran penyaring informasi dengan kategori sangat berperan dengan rataan skor 4,42 dan peran opinion leader yang masih kurang dijalankan adalah peran pengambil inisiatif dengan kategori cukup berperan dengan rataan skor 3,26
