Abstract

In Indonesia, with its rich cultural diversity, strengthening identity is increasingly important for both individuals and communities. The integration of local history into learning curriculums is one method to achieve this strengthening of identity. This research aims to examine how the integration of local history can reinforce identity. The study employs a literature review approach, gathering data and information from various sources, including books, articles, and journals. The collected data encompasses theories on identity, previous research on local history integration, and practices of local history integration. The findings indicate that integrating local history strengthens identity in three ways: (1) developing a sense of belonging and connection with the community, (2) enhancing understanding of cultural roots, and (3) developing critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. The research concludes that the integration of local history is an effective strategy for strengthening identity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the evolution of collaboration skills in the field of education including publication trends, intellectual structure, and research topics. This study uses the bibliometric method which is part of the literature review, with descriptive data analysis. Analysis was carried out on 723 documents from the Scopus database that had been selected. The results show that the trend of document publications on collaboration skills began to increase at the beginning of the 2001s until reaching the highest number of publications in 2023 with 104 documents. In the early period (1986-2004), there were five schools of thought that became the foundation of its intellectual structure, namely the practice of collaboration, small group learning, learning theory and its implementation, software design, and engineering studies. Meanwhile, in the next period (2005-2023) there are learning theory and its implementation, collaborative learning, interprofessional education, cooperative learning, and computer-supported learning. If the schools of thought in the two periods are compared, it can be seen that there has been an evolution of the intellectual structure of collaboration skills. Evolution also occurred in the collaboration skills research topics, which can be seen from the keywords data that often appeared in the early period, namely active learning, communication skills, and cooperative learning. In the following period, it changed to collaboration, interprofessional education, and higher education. These research findings can provide information regarding the knowledge base of collaboration skills and related research topics that have been carried out.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Virtual-based learning media centered on Sambisari Temple  to enhance the quality of history education. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires involving 30 tenth-grade students at SMA Angkasa Adisucipto. The data analysis revealed that the Virtual Tour Sambisari Temple  application, developed using tools like Blender, Unity 2022, and Canva, demonstrated high feasibility. The material validation received an average score of 93%, and media validation achieved 79%, both categorized as “feasible”. The trial with students showed an average response score of 81.76% classified as “very practical”. The application features interactives tools, 260-degree visual panoramas, and historical information aligned with the curriculum, presented in an engaging format. It operates both online and offline, allowing students to explore historical sites effectively without visiting the location in person. The findings indicate that the Virtual Tour Sambisari Temple  application enhances students’ understanding of history topics and motivates them to learm through innovative and engaging approaches. This study provides a framework for integrating technology inti learning media, paving the way for future developments in educational technology.

Abstract

This study designed and validated an Augmented Reality (AR)–based vocabulary learning tool integrating deep learning pedagogy for secondary EFL learners in under-resourced contexts. Using a Research and Development approach within the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop), the Research collected data from classroom observations, needs-analysis questionnaires, and expert validation by media and subject-matter specialists. An offline-capable mobile AR prototype was developed to address infrastructural constraints and to provide contextualized vocabulary presentation, guided attention, and reflection to support mindful learning, authentic AR visualization for meaningful learning, and interactive quizzes to foster joyful learning. Expert validation indicated high feasibility and validity: media expert mean = 86.67% (very feasible) and Material expert mean = 93.72% (very valid). Collectively, these findings provide robust empirical evidence that the media is pedagogically grounded, technically feasible, and aligned with curriculum objectives. The study contributes a validated instructional design framework that demonstrates how AR can be operationalized to embody mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning principles, offering practical guidance for educators and developers seeking accessible, context-responsive vocabulary-learning solutions in marginalized EFL settings.

Abstract

ndonesia, the world’s largest archipelagic state, faces complex maritime governance challenges stemming from a disconnect between its decentralized legal framework and its centralist administrative practices. Despite constitutional provisions allowing regional entities to engage in international cooperation, bureaucratic hurdles undermine the effectiveness of maritime paradiplomacy, particularly in regions such as the Riau Islands and North Maluku. This study aims to address this gap by examining the 15th-century Melaka Sultanate as a historical model of decentralized maritime diplomacy that can inspire modern policy innovations. Utilizing a qualitative historical-comparative method, the research juxtaposes Melaka’s port-based paradiplomatic mechanisms such as the empowered role of syahbandars and strategic diaspora networks with Indonesia’s current regulatory constraints. Primary data were sourced from historical manuscripts including Suma Oriental and Yingya Shenglan, while contemporary policies were analyzed through legal documents and regulatory simulations. The findings reveal that Melaka's distributed sovereignty, pragmatic neutrality, and cultural diplomacy through maritime networks facilitated effective transregional cooperation, in stark contrast to Indonesia's modern procedural stagnation. As a conclusion, the study proposes the revival of localized diplomatic authorities through "Maritime Autonomy Zones," the establishment of port curator councils, and the integration of cultural heritage in international engagement strategies. By recovering indigenous governance models, Indonesia can transform its peripheral maritime regions into vibrant centers of diplomatic and economic agency. This research not only bridges historiographical, legal, and policy domains but also offers a feasible pathway for strengthening Indonesia’s maritime sovereignty through culturally resonant decentralization.
