Abstract

Catching fish with fishing gear that uses materials or chemicals in marine waters is a practice that can have a negative impact on the safety of marine ecosystems. Additionally, it can lead to damage to coral reefs in Indonesian marine waters. The research is conducted in a normative manner on the fundamental legislative regulations. Furthermore, direct interviews are conducted with fishermen in North Jakarta's Muara Angke. Data processing is carried out qualitatively, and conclusions are drawn using deductive methods. The problem in this research is: What are the policies regarding fishing gear in the Fisheries Law and its implementing regulations, and what are the reasons behind fishing activities carried out by fishermen using explosives (a case study of fishermen in North Jakarta's Muara Angke)? The act of catching fish with explosives falls under the definition of illegal fishing because it contradicts the laws of a country or international regulations. The reason behind fishing with explosives is economic factors because the price of explosives is relatively cheap and easy to find

Abstract

ABSTRACT To maintain people's productivity during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian government has issued a new policy where people can remain productive with the Adaptation to New Habits (IMR) system. One of the sectors affected by the AKB system is the world of education which has been shifted from an online system to face-to-face learning. This change has quite an impact on students, especially nursing students, who find it quite difficult to deal with clinical practice, so they often experience mental tension and experience a decline in psychological well-being. This study aims to obtain an overview of student's psychological well-being in the Nursing Professional Program (PPN) while undergoing clinical practice during the AKB period. This research uses a quantitative descriptive design. The research subjects were students of the Nursing Professional Program (PPN) class 44, Faculty of Nursing, Padjadjaran University using a total sampling technique (N=93). Data collection was carried out using the Indonesian version of the Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS) instrument which is valid and reliable from Rachmayani & Ramdhani (2014) with a validity test value of 0.304 to 0.508 and a reliability test value of 0.921. Research shows that most respondents (96%) have low psychological well-being scores. This is influenced by changes in learning methods, the pandemic situation, and various academic challenges that cause various psychological problems in students during clinical practice. The level of psychological well-being of PPN 44 students during clinical practice is mostly in the low category. Therefore, researchers suggest providing counseling services for students to reduce the psychological pressure they experience so that their psychological well-being can improve.  Keywords: Adaptation to New Habits, Clinical Practice, Psychological Well-Being, Students  ABSTRAK Dalam rangka menjaga produktivitas masyarakat di tengah pandemi COVID-19, pemerintah Indonesia mengeluarkan kebijakan baru dimana masyarakat bisa tetap produktif dengan sistem Adaptasi Kebiasaan Baru (AKB).

Abstract

Introduction: Diarrhea remains a global health issue, particularly in vulnerable groups. Guava leaf (Psidium guajava) decoction is widely recognized in traditional medicine for treating diarrhea. Self-efficacy refers to belief in one's ability to apply knowledge in practice, crucial in health contexts. College students were selected as the population due to their potential as future health change agents who can integrate traditional practices into modern healthcare. Objective: This study aimed to assess the self-efficacy of Padjadjaran University students in using guava leaf decoction to manage diarrhea. Method: A descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. The sample included 113 students selected through purposive sampling. The General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), a standardized tool for measuring belief in one's ability to manage various situations, assessed students' confidence in traditional treatments. Data were collected via Google Forms and analyzed using univariate descriptive statistics. Results: Most students (54.9%) showed low self-efficacy in using guava leaf decoction for diarrhea treatment. Conclusions: The findings highlight the need for educational institutions to strengthen health education by incorporating evidence-based traditional medicine into academic curricula. This can be achieved through complementary nursing courses and awareness initiatives that promote informed, safe use of natural remedies like guava leaf decoction

Abstract

Introduction: Children with disabilities require special attention due to various limitations, such as difficulty in maintaining oral hygiene, communication barriers, and behavioral challenges. This study aimed to investigate the impact of oral health on the quality of life of children with disabilities in Jember, using the Healthy-Dis software. Methods: This analytical observational study employed a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 180 students enrolled at SLB C TPA Jember and SLB N 1 Patrang Jember. Caries severity was assessed using the DMF-t/def-t index, oral hygiene using the OHI-S index, and oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) using the COHIP-SF 19 questionnaire. Dental care needs were evaluated using the Required Treatment Index (RTI). The COHIP-SF 19 and RTI instruments were modified and integrated into the Android-based Healthy-Dis application. Results: A significant correlation was found between gender, caries severity, oral hygiene status, and the quality of life of children with disabilities (p < 0.05). A strong positive correlation was observed between oral hygiene status and quality of life (r = 0.446), while caries severity and gender showed negative correlations. These findings highlight the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene to improve the overall well-being of children with disabilities. Conclusion: Oral health status—including caries severity and oral hygiene level—is significantly associated with the quality of life of children with disabilities. Efforts to promote better oral hygiene may enhance their daily functioning and overall well-being.
