There were 489 respondents and 320 respondents met the inclusion criteria. The data was analyzed using three-box method and SEM-PLS. Results: Social support and self-concept independently influence the motivation of the nurses to pursue a Bachelor’s degree. However, organization support does not affect the motivation of nurses. The role of self-concept as a mediator to motivate nurses is significantly positive. Social support and organization support; each have a positive influence on self-concept.  Conclusion: Hospital X must calculate the needs of qualified nurses with a Bachelor of Nursing degree and follow it with talent scouting, mentoring, and leadership training programs to improve nurses’ self-concept. Providing scholarships or tuition assistance can increase the perception of organization support, which further increases commitment and loyalty of the nurses. Recommendation: The equalization Bachelor of Nursing degree program must be improved to utilize the potential of nurses who have already obtained the degree independently. Further study to explore the type of organization support and other motivational factors is also needed

Abstract

Modern healthcare services are undergoing transformation toward a more humanistic and patient-centered approach, emphasizing hospitality based services in hospitals. However, many healthcare institutions, particularly in outpatient settings, have not fully adopted this concept. Patients often experience psychological distress, and when coupled with an unsupportive physical environment, their comfort and overall experience may be diminished. These conditions can negatively affect perceptions of service quality, patient satisfaction, and loyalty toward hospital services. This study aimed to analyze the influence of patients’ psychological conditions and the physical environment on hospitality-based services, with patient experience as an intervening variable, at the internal medicine outpatient clinic of BM Hospital. A quantitative research design using a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study involved 200 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires with Likert-scale items and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that patients’ psychological conditions, the physical environment, and patient experience simultaneously and significantly influenced hospitality-based services. Hypothesis testing confirmed that both psychological conditions and the physical environment had a direct and significant impact on hospitality-based services. Furthermore, patient experience played a mediating role, strengthening the relationship between these factors and perceived service quality. The findings highlight the need for hospitals to integrate psychological support and a conducive physical environment into outpatient care delivery. Enhancing these dimensions can improve patient experience, foster greater satisfaction and comfort, and build stronger loyalty toward hospital services

Abstract

The rapid adoption of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming hospital healthcare services, offering opportunities to improve diagnostic accuracy, operational efficiency, and patient-centered care. Previous studies indicate that AI-powered diagnostic tools, cloud computing, electronic health records, and IoT systems significantly enhance clinical decision-making and resource management. However, legal, ethical, and operational challenges including patient data privacy, liability ambiguity, staff skill gaps, interoperability issues, and high implementation costs pose significant barriers to effective adoption. This study aims to investigate the relationship between digital transformation driven by emerging technologies, AI-assisted diagnostics, legal frameworks, and operational challenges in hospital services. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted, analyzing peer-reviewed articles published between 2021 and 2025 from major databases including PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Key themes were extracted and synthesized across five dimensions: technology and infrastructure, AI implementation, legal and regulatory considerations, operational challenges, and healthcare outcomes. Findings reveal that while digital transformation and AI adoption enhance hospital efficiency and diagnostic precision, their success depends on coordinated attention to regulatory compliance, staff training, system integration, and organizational readiness. Hospitals must adopt multidimensional strategies to balance technological innovation with ethical, legal, and operational considerations for sustainable healthcare delivery.
