Abstract

Character education is a fundamental pillar in shaping a generation that excels not only intellectually but also possesses strong moral integrity. Although national policy has emphasized the importance of character reinforcement through the curriculum, its implementation in the classroom—particularly in subjects considered technical, such as Indonesian language—remains suboptimal. There is a gap between the potential of Indonesian language instruction as a medium for character education and its current practice, which still predominantly focuses on linguistic aspects. This study aims to describe the role of Indonesian language teachers in shaping students' character, particularly the value of integrity. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research was conducted in two secondary schools involving both teachers and students as participants. The findings reveal that Indonesian language teachers play a strategic role in internalizing the value of integrity through various strategies, such as the selection of morally rich texts, implementation of reflective literacy projects, and attitude-based assessments. The teacher’s role as a moral role model and the interpersonal relationships developed in the classroom also significantly contribute to the internalization process. However, this role has not been fully optimized due to structural barriers, including administrative burdens, lack of training in character-based pedagogy, and the dominance of academic-oriented curricula. The study concludes that Indonesian language teachers have considerable potential as agents of character education—potential that remains underutilized. The practical implication of these findings is the need for systemic support, including ongoing training in value-based pedagogy, supportive curriculum policies, and the reduction of administrative workloads to enable teachers to effectively and sustainably fulfill this strategic role.

Abstract

The cotruction of society that Gandhi is trying to build is a manifestation of his religious or religious faith. Where each individual jointly runs his life activity in the life of society as a holy dharma of religion. As dharma then every individual must be able to defeat any potential greed in developing autonomization of individuality to realize mutual interests. The idealization of society that Gandhi aspires to is inseparable from the idealization of the perfection of human beings as the main core of society. The idealization of society for Gandhi is what the Indian community calls the ashram. Ashram has in common with ashrama terminology. Ashram is the ideal conception of community building as a model community. Such community prototypes contain a set of cultural roots that make up the ideological constructions of society. The cultural roots are established as living principles that must be obeyed by the ashram citizens. The estuary of all is the enforcement of the principle of brotherhood of mankind. The value of humanity that is the culmination and the key word for every form of devotion by upholding that all human beings are equal and brothers, should not be exaggerated or feel more than others. This principle of 'all brothers' is the moral principle in Gandhi idealized society. The implications of Gandhi's thought increasingly find a point of relevance to forming civil society in Indonesia.

Abstract

Hindu Religious Education plays a strategic role in shaping the character of students based on Dharma values, especially in the era of globalization and digitalization, which is prone to moral disorientation. This study aims to examine the strengthening of Hindu religious education through curriculum innovation, the utilization of information technology, and the integration of local wisdom values in the learning process. This study employs a qualitative approach, drawing on a literature review that examines Hindu sacred texts, character education literature, and recent research findings on pedagogical challenges in the digital era. The results of the study indicate that effective Hindu religious education must be dynamic and adaptive without abandoning Hindu spiritual roots. Teachers as agents of change need to master the use of digital technology such as audiovisual media, online learning platforms, and interactive learning resources. A contextual approach, through the exploration of the Hindu Nusantara tradition, also strengthens the relevance of learning. This study highlights the importance of revitalizing holistic Hindu education by integrating philosophical, pedagogical, and technological aspects to cultivate a generation of intelligent, noble, and spiritually inclined young Hindus.

Abstract

This article aims to explain how the Balinese sakala-niskala (visible-invisible) as Parā Vidyā-Aparā Vidyā paradigm produces the spiritual vibrations that form the foundation of Bali's sustained international appeal. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, this research synthesizes classical Advaita Vedanta and modern Vibration Theory. The data includes ethnographic observations and systematic interviews with key religious and cultural informants. Symbolic Interactionism is employed to interpret how these subtle energies are perceived and communicated by global visitors. Findings reveal that the concept of sakala-niskala is operationalized through Balinese rituals, which generate a dynamic vibrational field that influences both the environment and individual consciousness. The novelty lies in demonstrating that Bali’s sustained global appeal is directly attributable to the systematic maintenance of this vibrational ecology. This study contributes a new analytical model to spiritual geography and provides actionable insights for policymakers on establishing sustainable tourism governance that prioritizes the preservation of these unique vibrations.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the teachings that shape character and environmental awareness in Hindu religious teachings. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research results reveal that Hindu education provides a solid foundation for people to understand and absorb the teachings of Hinduism in depth. This includes understanding philosophical concepts such as karma (the law of cause and effect), dharma (moral obligation), and moksha (spiritual liberation), as well as various other teachings that help people find the path to perfection. In addition, Hindu religious education encourages spiritual practices such as worship, meditation, and maintaining balance between body, soul, and mind. It helps people grow in positive traits such as patience, wisdom, and inner calm, which are important components of character development. Hindu religious education is very important to instill a sense of love and appreciation in children. Classical Hindu books provide important lessons about the relationship between humans and the universe. Thus, Hindu religious education can be an important pillar in forming a young generation who is ethical, virtuous and cares about the environment. However, to ensure that Hindu religious education is effective in facing the challenges of the times and has a greater positive impact on society as a whole, comprehensive improvement and improvement efforts are needed.
