Abstract

The population of Mesua ferrea L. in Banyumas Regency, Central of Java Province is very low. There are some factors affecting the quantity of plant population, particularly traditional knowledge of local community about the plant. The aim of this study was to describe the knowledge of Banyumas community about the existence, economic value, usefulness, and propagation technique of M. ferrea. The study was done by field survey on a total of 146 residents from 10 districts which were determined by proportionally stratified random sampling. Data obtained from questionnaires and interviews were analyzed by percentage descriptive. The results revealed that only 9% of respondents were familiar with the M. ferrea and knew its status as plant identity of Banyumas Regency. Most of the respondents did not understand the economic value, only 8% of respondents understood the usefulness, 2% of respondents had utilized the timber as craft material, and 3% understood the propagation technique. The utilization was very low, equal to 14.45% compared to the potential usefulness. Most of the respondents (98%) thought that conservation efforts should be undertaken. This study found that the traditional knowledge of M. ferrea in Banyumas was low. This result should be used as a basic information for developing conservation program of M. ferrea.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of students worksheet to improve of critical thinking ability of fourth grade student’s of SD N 5 Parakan Kauman based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and local wisdom. This research adopt the procedure of research and development that oriented in 4D model (Define, Design, Developed, and Disseminate). The research design used was one groups pretest-posttest design with the member of subject were 24 students. The research instrument used observation sheet, interview sheet, validity test, written test (pretest and posttest), and also questionnaire. The result of the research showed that students worksheet included in the effective enough category, which based on the calculation of N-Gain score was 62.7809 or 62.8 %, with a minimum score is 57.14 % and a maximum score 66.67 %. These scores showed the improvement of student thinking in solving problem aspect, with good and very good categories. The result of the teacher respondent is 67, it is in interesting category and the student respondent got 84 in average score, it is in very interesting category. It can be concluded that the implementation of student worksheet in STEM basic and local wisdom can be implemented in teaching learning activities, it also improve the ability of students’ critical thinking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui partisipasi masyarakat dalam mengikuti program PHBM, tujuan selanjutnya adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pendapatan masyarakat, dan mengetahui hubungan antara keduanya. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dan analisis statistik. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data yang ada tingkat partisipasi masyarakat Desa Kalimendong dalam Program PHBM termasuk dalam kategori tinggi karena nilai yang di dapat mencapai rata-rata 65,47%. Hal tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh sistem pembinaan dari pihak Perhutani maupun dari Lembaga Masyarakat Desa Hutan RIMBA MULYA yang sering melibatkan petani dalam berbagai kegiatannya. Pendapatan masyarakat yang mengikuti program PHBM mengalami kenaikan cukup baik walaupun masih dalam kategori sedang dengan rata-rata nilai persentase  sebesar 31.06%. Hal tersebut sesuai dengan kondisi dilapangan dimana, sistem pembinaan dari pihak Perhutani maupun dari Lembaga Masyarakat Desa Hutan RIMBA MULYA yang sering melibatkan petani dalam berbagai kegiatannya. Sedangkan untuk tingkat pendapatan dipengaruhi oleh luas lahan yang dimiliki oleh petani peserta PHBM yang masih tergolong sempit yaitu kurang dari 0,5 ha. Faktor yang paling mempengaruhi hal tersebut adalah luas lahan garapan yang dimiliki oleh petani.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Menganalisis tingkat kapasitas masyarakat di Kecamatan Candisari dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor dan (2) Menganalisis upaya-upaya yang telah dilakukan pemerintah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor di Kecamatan Candisari. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan analisis deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan pada wilayah rawan longsor di Kecamatan Candisari Kota Semarang yakni Kelurahan Candi, Jomblang, Karang Anyar Gunung dan Tegalsari. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh KK yang ada pada lokasi penelitian. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik dalam pengumpulan data yaitu dokumentasi, kuisioner, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil yaitu kapasitas masyarakat Kecamatan Candisari secara umum memiliki tingkat kapasitas tinggi secara teori. Dapat diartikan bahwa masyarakat Candisari sudah memiliki kemampuan dasar yang memadai untuk menghadapi ancaman bencana tanah longsor. Untuk upaya yang telah dilakukan oleh pemerintah pada tingkat kelurahan dan BPBD Kota Semarang secara umum sudah baik dengan adanya beberapa upaya yang telah dilakukan guna meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui tingkat aktivitas belajar siswa pada model discovery learning mata pelajaran geografi di SMA Negeri 73 Jakarta (2) mengetahui hubungan aktivitas belajar menggunakan model discovery learning terhadap prestasi belajar geografi pada siswa di SMA Negeri 73 Jakarta. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 73 Jakarta tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 dengan sampel sejumlah 36 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif persentase dan analisis korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa efektivitas belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model discovery learning pada mata pelajaran geografi SMA Negeri 73 Jakarta masuk pada kriteria tinggi dengan rata-rata skor sebesar 39,86. Perolehan ini dapat dilihat dari efektivitas belajar siswa dalam kegiatan stimulation, problem statment, data colletion, data processing, verification, serta aktivitas dalam generalization

Abstract

Desa Ngroto Kecamatan Gubug Kabupaten Grobogan merupakan daerah yang rawan terhadap bencana alam yaitu bencana banjir. Untuk mengurangi risiko dampak bencana yang ditimbulkan maka perlu upaya pencegahan yaitu dengan mitigasi bencana. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan analisis kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh KK yang tinggal di Desa Ngroto. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling dengan hasil sampel berjumlah 59 Kepala Keluarga di RW 06 Desa Ngroto Kecamatan Gubug Kabupaten Grobogan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis data statistik sederhana (kuantitatif) dengan menggunakan deskriptif presentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Tingkat pengetahuan mengenai mitigasi bencana banjir sebelum adanya pemberian materi adalah 57,54 dalam kategori “Tinggi”, sesudah adanya pemberian materi adalah 87,54 dalam kategori “Sangat Tinggi” Pengetahuan masyarakat mengalami peningkatan sebesar 30%. 2.) Peran serta masyarakat desa Ngroto dalam mitigasi bencana banjir di desa Ngroto dengan menggunakan deskriptif presentase skor rata-rata sebesar 57 dengan kategori “Baik.”

Abstract

Every man needs a place to live in a safe and comfortable for the continuance of his life. Due tovarious factors, the human desire to live in areas prone to disasters such as landslides. Some of them donot know the danger they mengacam, there are some others who already know the risks that might occur,and then they make the steps antisipasinya. Those who live in landslide-prone areas have a differentmotivation. Motivation and the anticipation is what menajdi purpose of this research. Population researchis their (families) who live in areas prone to landslides in the city of Semarang. Identification of areasprone to landslides views of the topography / slope gradient and rock formation (formation Kalibiuk),which includes District Tembalang, Gunungpati, and Ngalian. Sample taken from the third kecamtan(purposively sampling) of 50 families. Data analyzed in quantitative descriptive. Results of research thatthey live in areas prone to landslides divided in two klas namely immigrants and native inhabitants. Themigrants generally live in housing built by developers who missal, their economic level is higher, nonagriculturallivelihoods. Instead of the native build their own home, a lower level of economic migrantson, livelihood of farmers or other informal sectors. Motivation migrants choose to stay here because ofthe consideration is close to the work, accessibility, high price. For the native land because of inheritanceand a source of livelihood here (rice field, moor). Both newcomers and the natives already know the riskof landslides. They differ only in mengapresiasi against landslides. Immigrants with anticipating technicalengineering building, such as strengthening the bones, make a levee, to reforestation. Erosion of the nativelook as natural occurrence, so no need to anticipate the technical engineering, they just do reforestation.One thing that has not been done by both migrants and their native population is on the socialization oftheir children Naka-how to save themselves in case landslides really happened.Keywords: Readiness of the population, the area prone to landslides, erosion

Abstract

The high level of flood risk that occurs in Semarang city, raises the level of anxiety in the community , so it needs to have integration in community disaster education . The purpose of this paper is to inform the public profile of the flood prone areas in the form of non-spatial data base ( behavior towards disaster , habits and aspirations of the community in the face of disaster), and a disaster for developing learning models in shaping the character of the community . While the methods used are qualitative and Research and Development ( RnD ) The results showed that there is still a lack of knowledge in the society faces a disaster , it is shown by the lack of social and physical infrastructure of flood disaster . On the other hand to increase the capacity of communities to deal with disasters , disaster on the community learning can be done with the participation of the community ranging from mitigation , preparedness , disaster response , to recovery .Lessons of disaster is one of the strategies in the character building , because learning through disaster also internalized values ? ? of at least three characters , namely social care , care for the environment , and creative . Social care is realized by mutual cooperation , caring environment with hygiene and environmental conservation activities , and creative embodied through effective post-disaster management .

Abstract

Periuk District is an area that almost every year experiences flood disasters. The flood that occurred had an impact both material and non material. The purpose of this research is (1) Descripting the distribution of floodprone areas in the Periuk District of Tangerang City. (2) Identify the impacts caused by flooding. (3) Formulating the form of adaptation of residents in facing floods. The area that will be used as the research sampel is the area of RW 08 Periuk Village. The sampling technique for the respondents used the propotional random sampling technique with sampe size of 30 households. Variables in the study consisted of flood distribution, flood impacts and adaptation forms. The analysis technique is percentage descriptive analysis and descriptive comparative analysis. The results showed that flooding in Periuk District is a flood of shipments coming from the upstream area. Flooding occurred in the area of Periuk Village, Gebang Raya Village and Gembor Village. The impact caused by flooding in RW 08 area of Periuk Village is high category with 60% of residents affected by flooding. The resulting impact is damage to residents' houses, disruption of social activities and loss of property. The adaptations made by residents in RW 08 Periuk Village have made adaptations such as physical, social and economic adaptations. The adaptation rate of the citizens is as much as 53% of the population has a high level of adaptation and as much as 47% has a moderate adaptation rate. Kecamatan Periuk merupakan wilayah yang hampir setiap tahunnya mengalami bencana banjir. Banjir yang terjadi memberikan dampak baik secara material maupun non-material. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan sebaran daerah rawan banjir di Kecamatan Periuk Kota Tangerang. (2) Mengidentifikasi dampak yang ditimbulkan akibat banjir. (3) Merumuskan bentuk adaptasi warga dalam menghadapi banjir. Wilayah yang akan dijadikan sebagai sampel penelitian adalah wilayah RW 08 Kelurahan Periuk. Teknik pengambilan sampel responden menggunakan teknik propotional random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 KK. Variabel dalam penelitian terdiri dari sebaran banjir, dampak banjir dan bentuk adaptasi. Teknik analisis adalah analisis deskriptif persentase dan analisis komparatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan banjir di Kecamatan Periuk merupakan banjir kiriman yang berasal dari daerah hulu. Banjir terjadi di wilayah Kelurahan Periuk, Kelurahan Gebang Raya dan Kelurahan Gembor. Dampak yang diakibatkan banjir di Wilayah RW 08 Kelurahan Periuk termasuk kategori tinggi dengan tingkatan 60% warga mengalami dampak banjir. Dampak yang diakibatkan adalah rusaknya rumah warga, terganggunya kegiatan sosial dan kerugian harta benda. Adaptasi yang dilakukan warga di RW 08 Kelurahan Periuk telah melakukan adaptasi seperti adaptasi fisik, sosial dan ekonomi. Tingkat adaptasi warga yaitu sebanyak 53% warga memiliki tingkat adaptasi tinggi dan sebanyak 47% memiliki tingkat adaptasi sedang.

Abstract

The importance of disaster issues in Indonesia encourages the integration of disaster mitigation into the education system, forinstance, the inclusion of disaster mitigation as part of geography subject. However, the implementation of disaster mitigati onlearning still faces several obstacles. This study aimed to describe the implementation and to analyze the effectiveness of roleplaying learning methods assisted by disaster education pocketbook. This research conducted at SMAN 11 Semarang. Thesample of this study was the XI IPS 2 class as the experimental class and XI IPS 3 as the control class. The variable of thisresearch was the role-playing learning method assisted by disaster education pocketbook with sub-variables of teacherperformance, learning outcomes, and students’ response. The study found that implementation of the experimental and controlclasses conducted by researchers obtained teacher performance scores of 89% (experimental class) and 86% (control class), bothof the values were very good. The comparasion of cognitive learning outcomes showed that disaster mitigation learning with therole-playing method assisted by pocketbook on disaster education was more effective than learning with lecture and discussionmethods. Response questionnaire showed an average value of 82.7%, therefore the students were very interested in the learning. __________________________________________________________________Pentingnya permasalahan bencana di Indonesia mendorong pengintegrasian mitigasi bencanadalam sistem pendidikan yang salah satu manifestasinya adalah masuknya mitigasi bencanasebagai bagian dari mata pelajaran geografi. Namun, pelaksanaan pembelajaran mitigasi bencanamasih mengalami beberapa terkait pengembangan bahan ajar serta metode pembelajaran.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan dan menganalisis efektivitas metodepembelajaran role playing berbantu buku saku edukasi bencana. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN11 Semarang dengan sampel kelas XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPS 3 sebagai kelaskontrol. Variabel penelitian ini yaitu metode pembelajaran role playing berbantu buku saku edukasibencana dengan sub variabel kinerja guru, hasil belajar, dan tanggapan positif siswa. Penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran kelas eksperimen dan kontrol yang dilaksanakanpeneliti memperoleh nilai kinerja guru sebesar 89 % (kelas eksperimen) dan 86 % (kelas kontrol)yang kedua nilainya termasuk kriteria sangat baik. Perbandingan hasil belajar menunjukkan bahwapembelajaran mitigasi bencana dengan metode role playing berbantu buku saku edukasi bencanalebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi. Nilai rerata responsiswa sebesar 82,7 %, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran mendapatkan respon positif darisiswa.
