Abstract

National values are an important foundation in understanding and loving Indonesia as a homeland. Middle school is a crucial character-building period for students because they begin to form a deep understanding of the values that form the moral and ethical foundation in everyday life. This article aims to explore the crucial role of Indonesian in helping strengthen the student profile of Pancasila and national values in Karanganyar Regency Middle Schools using a sample. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method where the data results are obtained through observation and interviews as primary data and literature study to obtain secondary data. The final results of the research show that the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile at the Junior High School level in Karanganyar Regency has been implemented and supported by various parties but still requires innovation and certain solutions to run optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the critical discourse analysis of microstructure aspects contained in the slogans and Instagram posters of legislative candidates in 2024. The data source of this research is based on Hapri Sianturi's Instagram social media for legislative candidates in 2024 (https://www.instagram.com/haprisianturi/) by observing the linguistic aspects of Instagram posts and the language of Instagram captions. This research uses the critical discourse analysis framework of Teun van Dijk's model to explore the microstructure in the slogans and Instagram posts of legislative candidates in 2024. The research used a qualitative approach and listening method with listening and recording techniques for the data collection. Then, interviews and field observations were conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta and SMP Negeri 4 Surakarta to determine the relevance of teaching media. The results of research and discussion show that the microstructure aspects of the 2024 legislative candidate Hapri Sianturi are complete. Critical discourse analysis research on posters and slogans of legislative candidates is relevant to learning at the 8th-grade junior high school level using the independent curriculum on the material of Advertising Texts, Slogans, and Posters.

Abstract

This The research entitled "Analysis of Teacher and Student Language Variety in Class Interaction at SDN 1 Kabunderan" aims to describe the use of various languages ​​of teachers and students in the school environment of SDN 1 Kabunderan. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method based on existing facts. Data obtained based on observations in the field. The results of research conducted at SDN 1 Kabunderan show that there are a variety of standard, official, relaxed, and familiar languages ​​used by teachers and students such as the use of mixed languages ​​of Indonesian, Javanese and English. The most dominant use of mixed languages ​​is the variety of Indonesian with Javanese ngapak, while the non-dominant use is found in the variety of Indonesian and English. The occurrence of various languages ​​is motivated by Javanese cultural factors, foreign languages, technological developments, social media developments, familiarity, and mutual respect.

Abstract

Manusia menggunakan bahasa untuk berkomunikasi satu sama lain, yang mencakup bentuk lisan dan tulisan. Bahasa tulis mencakup berbagai jenis, termasuk opini. Kumparan.com merupakan platform media yang menampilkan artikel opini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aspek gramatikal opini yang dimuat di Kumparan.com pada bulan Januari hingga Februari 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang dipadukan dengan metode penelitian kepustakaan, dengan menggunakan purposive sampling untuk pengumpulan data. Sumber data primer adalah artikel opini dari Kumparan.com dalam periode yang ditentukan. Data dikumpulkan melalui tinjauan literatur dan dokumentasi dan dianalisis secara interaktif. Kajian tersebut menemukan bahwa unsur gramatikal seperti referensi, penghilangan, elips, dan konjungsi terdapat dalam opini tersebut. Meskipun frekuensi aspek tata bahasa ini berbeda-beda antar artikel, secara keseluruhan, opini-opini tersebut mematuhi kriteria tata bahasa dengan baik.AbstractHumans use language to communicate with one another, which includes both spoken and written forms. Written language encompasses various types, including opinions. Kumparan.com is a media platform that features opinion articles. This study aims to analyze the grammatical aspects of opinion pieces published on Kumparan.com from January to February 2024. It employs a qualitative descriptive approach combined with library research methods, using purposive sampling for data collection. The primary data source is opinion articles from Kumparan.com within the specified period. Data was gathered through literature review and documentation and analyzed interactively. The study found that grammatical elements such as references, omissions, ellipses, and conjunctions are present in these opinion pieces. While the frequency of these grammatical aspects varies between articles, overall, the opinions adhere well to grammatical criteria.

Abstract

Malangan’s puppet is a shadow puppet that grows and develops in East Jawa, precisely in the Greater Malang area. Malangan’s puppet differs from other styles in the scene structure department, which is covered by five pathet (Javanese gamelan modes) concepts. The purpose of this research is to describe the structure of the scene using five pathet concepts with the sample of the Malangan’s puppet script, Gathotkaca Lair. This Study applied the descriptive qualitative method. The research data were drawn from the data source of the Malangan’s puppet script with the Gathotkaca Lair’s play. The data collection employed content analysis techniques by evaluating several character dialogues that represent the scene structure in each pathet. The data analysis technique implemented the Miles & Huberman interactive model. The results of the study suggest that the scene structure in the Gathotkaca Lair’s script is well packaged into five pathets. The five pathets are pathet sepuluh (tenth), pathet wolu (eight), pathet sanga (ninth), pathet miring, and pathet serang. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of mentoring for Thammasat University Thailand students in improving Indonesian language skills through Surakarta batik training. Mentoring is considered an effective method in helping students acquire better language skills. This study involved a group of Thammasat University students who were studying Indonesian at the beginner level. They were given the opportunity to take part in Surakarta's typical batik training which involves practicing speaking, writing, and listening in Indonesian. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The collected data was analyzed using the content analysis method. The results of the study show that mentoring through typical Surakarta batik training is effective in improving the Indonesian language skills of Thammasat University students. Students reported significant improvements in their ability to speak, write, and understand Indonesian after participating in the training. This research makes an important contribution to our understanding of the importance of mentoring in improving foreign language skills, especially for international students. Surakarta's typical batik training has proven to have significant potential in facilitating Indonesian language learning, because it involves interactive and interesting cultural aspects.

Abstract

Indonesian tourists are one of the largest groups of travelers visiting Thailand. The high interest of Indonesian travelers in tourist destinations in Thailand is not supported by the number of tour guides skilled in the Indonesian language. The purpose of this international community service is to improve the competence of local tour guides in Thailand, particularly in terms of Indonesian language skills. The urgency of this service is to address the need for local Thai tour guides who are proficient in Indonesian. Skilled Indonesian-speaking local Thai tour guides are expected to provide optimal service to the increasing number of Indonesian tourists. The method of this service involves intensive assistance by Thammasat University students as tutors and translators. Thammasat students who are already proficient in Indonesian will provide Indonesian language training to local Thai tour guides. This assistance includes interactive learning sessions, conversation simulations, and direct practice in real tourist situations to enhance the communication skills of the tour guides. The results of the service show a significant improvement in the Indonesian language skills of 15 local Thai tour guides. This is evident from their ability to communicate more fluently and confidently with tourists from Indonesia. The group of local Thai tour guides also reported increased satisfaction in the services they provided, as well as positive feedback from Indonesian tourists. Based on these results, the assistance provided by the service team, supported by Thammasat University students, was effective in enhancing the language competence of local Thai tour guides. This service activity has a positive impact on the experience of Indonesian tourists and strengthens the bilateral tourism sector of both countries.

Abstract

The Enactment of Law No. 24 of 2009 concerning the Flag, Language, and State Emblem and National Anthem which is emphasized by Government Regulation No. 57 of 2014, Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 42 of 2018, and Decree No. 0424/I/BS.00.01/2022 must of course be obeyed by all Indonesian citizens. Public obedience to the law is still low, especially related to language. For example, many place names in public areas still use foreign languages. It is clear that the use of language violates the law, especially with regard to language. Enforcement of the law must be spearheaded by the government itself. If the community can obey the law, socialization to the general public will be smoother. Governance in government and private agencies is one of those regulated in the Law, especially Article 33 paragraph 1 which reads "Indonesian must be used in official communication in the government and private work environment". It is clear here that the standard variety of Indonesian must be used by private agencies in public information, especially lodging in tourist attractions such as in Kemuning Karanganyar. As a popular private institution, the enforcement of the implementation of the law mentioned above is the main pillar and an example for the wider community. Therefore, naming in private institutions must be managed properly. As a result of several observations, many villa naming in the Kemuning Karanganyar tourist area focuses more on non-linguistic factors, such as the form of naming, type of service, official stamps, envelopes used and archive storage. Linguistic problems, such as spelling errors, word selection errors, sentence meaning errors, sentence composition errors, are rarely noticed. There are many naming versions sent by the inn, especially in villas in Kemuning tourism. There are many variations and there is no standard related to this planter because the manager does not have a standard guideline. There are so many mistakes made by Villa managers in making naming. The target group of the HGR PKM program is Villas in a tourist area in Kemuning, Karanganyar, Central Java Province.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study investigates the integration of a contextual learning model based on ecological literacy in Indonesian language learning within vocational high schools. The aim is to enhance students' language skills and foster their active participation in learning Indonesian through contextual and relevant experiences. Methodology: The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing classroom learning processes. Data sources include speech, actions, and supporting documents collected during the research. Purposive sampling was used to select teachers and students from class X of Vocational High Schools 1 Sawit Boyolali as participants. Research instruments consisted of observation records, interview lists, and documentation. Method triangulation was applied to ensure validity, incorporating observations, interviews, and analysis of classroom learning processes. Data were analyzed descriptively to present detailed findings and draw conclusions. Main Findings: The findings reveal significant improvements in students’ language skills through ecological literacy-based Indonesian learning. The contextual learning model aligns with students’ vocational expertise, enabling them to engage deeply with language in practical and meaningful contexts. This approach not only enhances reading and comprehension skills but also builds students' confidence in expressing ideas verbally and in writing. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a novel approach by integrating ecological literacy into Indonesian language education, addressing linguistic and environmental awareness. It provides new insights into how contextual learning tailored to students’ vocational fields can enrich language skills, bridging academic content with real-world applications. This research offers a valuable model for innovative and interdisciplinary education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai sosial budaya yang terdapat dalam novel Segala yang Diisap Langit karya Pinto Anugrah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskripstif kualitatif dengan pendekatan antropologi sastra. Sumber data yang digunakan ialah novel Segala yang Diisap Langit karya Pinto Anugrah. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan penulis yaitu analisis dokumen. Uji validitas pada penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi teori dan sumber data. Analisis data yang digunakan ialah teknik analisis data mengalir oleh Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. Nilai sosial budaya yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini ada 14 yaitu nilai (a) ideas yang berjumlah 7 data, (b) activities yang berjumlah 4 data, dan (c) artefact yang berjumlah 3 data. Nilai sosial budaya ini berdasarkan teori menurut J.J. Hoeningman (1959). Nilai sosial budaya yang paling dominan pada penelitian ini adalah ideas.
