Abstract

Measles is a very contagious disease and still a health problem in Indonesia. Immunization coverage of measles BIAS in Pesawaran District is quite good (98.8%), but the incidence measles outbreaks in elementary school-age children still occur, this can be caused by various child factors, maternal and environmental factors. The purpose to examine the factors that influence outbreaks of measles are children of primary school age. The observational analytics study design with a mix methods approach. The participants consist of 27 cases and 54 controls, in-depth interviews with UKS teachers. Dependent variable was measles outbreak incidence in primary school age, independent variables were contact history, maternal age, maternal education, occupancy density, and UKS teacher knowledge. Bivariate using Chi Square test and multivariate analysis using logistic regression test. The result of bivariate analysis showed that there was a correlation between contact history (p=0,001), maternal age (p=0,009), occupancy density (p=0,023) with the incidence of measles outbreaks of primary school age children. Logistic regression test showed the significance value of contact history (p= 0,024), occupancy density (p=0,036), The result of in-depth interviews UKS teacher knowledge about measles is good. Conclusion of the factors that influence the incidence of measles outbreaks of primary school age children is a history of contact and occupany density with probability 83,25%. Abstract

Inflammation, bleeding, swelling, pain, dry socket are common complications of tooth extraction. The inflammatory response is divided into two, including the administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and steroid anti-inflammatory drugs. Every use of chemical drugs has side effects. Herbal ingredients are needed, namely avocado seeds as an alternative treatment in preventing inflammation in wounds after tooth extraction. Avocado seeds contain polyphenols that play a role in inflammation in wounds, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins. Experiment with randomized posttest design with control group design. Consisting of intervention group nano gel avocado seed extract 10%, positive control group povidone iodine 10% and aquadest. Observations were made for 7 days. The variables studied were inflammation of the wound after tooth extraction of rats and histopathological examination (Lymphocytes, Neocapillary and Fibroblasts). Based on the results of the unpaired test, the avocado and povidone groups were not significantly different (p=0.143), the avocado and aquadest groups had a significant difference (p=0.001) and the povidone and aquadest groups had a significant difference (p =0.015). The administration of nano gel of avocado seed extract with a concentration of 10% and 10% povidone iodine has the same ability in the process of wound regeneration and increases new blood vessels and can also reduce the number of lymphocyte inflammatory cells as evidenced by histological examination . The administration of nano gel of avocado seed extract is effective and can be applied as an alternative to prevent inflammation in wounds after tooth extraction in white rats.

Abstract

A great and intelligent generation began during a child's golden period, as early stimulation and nutrition had a significant impact on brain development. During the early breastfeeding phase, approximately 34–94% of women experienced nipple trauma, which potentially reduced breastfeeding continuity. One non-pharmacological therapy alternative was the use of guava leaf gel, which was more practical and easy to apply. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of guava leaf gel on nipple trauma healing. The research was conducted at Midwife's Independent Practice Bidan Eka Setyowati, S.Tr.Keb, in Semarang from October to November 2024, using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with a control group. The research sample consisted of a total of 30 postpartum mothers who experienced nipple fissures, selected through purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria consisted of postpartum mothers with healthy, single-born babies who breastfed and experienced grade 2 nipple trauma, while exclusion criteria included mothers with inverted nipples and babies with tongue-tie conditions. The intervention group received breast milk and guava leaf gel applications three times daily for five days, while the control group received only breast milk. Healing was measured using the Nipple Trauma Score (NTS). Data analysis used the Friedman and Wilcoxon tests. The average NTS in the control group was 1.60, while in the intervention group, it was 0.40. Statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant difference between pre- and post-intervention NTS scores in both groups. It was concluded that guava leaf gel effectively accelerated nipple trauma healing.

Abstract

Adolescent girls often experience anemia, a condition in which red blood cell count or hemoglobin concentration falls below normal levels, especially during puberty. Globally, anemia affects 40% of children aged 6–59 months, 37% of pregnant women, and 30% of women aged 15–49 years. California papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) are a nutritious vegetable that may help accelerate anemia reduction efforts. This study aimed to prove that administering papaya leaf extract at a dose of 800 mg/day affects hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in anemic adolescent girls. This true experimental study used a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Conducted from December 1–20, 2024, at Junior High School 2 Balong, Ponorogo, Indonesia, it involved 46 anemic adolescent respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. They were divided into two groups: 23 participants in the intervention group, who received 800 mg of papaya leaf extract along with 60 mg of iron tablets, and 23 in the control group, who received only 60 mg of iron tablets for 14 days. Data processing was conducted using SPSS version 27, with statistical analysis performed using the parametric dependent T-Test and independent T-Test. The results showed that the intervention group experienced an average increase in hemoglobin levels of 0.444 g/dL and hematocrit levels of 0.39. In conclusion, administering 800 mg of papaya leaf extract significantly affects hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in anemic adolescent girls, supporting efforts to reduce anemia prevalence.

Abstract

Introduction: Chlorogenic acid (CGA) is a natural chemical discovered in a variety of plants that has been associated with numerous health benefits. Recent evidence suggests that CGA impacts reproductive hormone regulation, thus linking metabolic health and endocrine function. Understanding trends and gaps in research at this intersection is crucial. This study characterizes global research patterns, collaboration, and thematic evolution on CGA's antidiabetic activity and its influence on reproductive hormones through bibliometric analysis. Methods: Data were retrieved from the Scopus database using the keywords ("Chlorogenic Acid") AND ("Antidiabetic") AND ("Reproductive Hormone" OR "Testosterone" OR "LH" OR "FSH" OR "Estrogen" OR "Sperm" OR "Fertility") OR ("Reproductive Hormone" OR "Testosterone" OR "LH" OR "FSH" OR "Estrogen" OR "Sperm" OR "Fertility"). Publications from 2015 to 2025 were included. Bibliometric analysis was performed using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny to visualize co-authorship networks, keyword co-occurrence, publication trends, source dynamics, and thematic clusters. Results: A total of 162 relevant publications were identified, with a consistent increase observed from 2015 and a peak in 2024. Egypt, China, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia emerged as leading contributors, concentrating research in Asia and the Middle East. The primary journals were Molecules, Nutrients, and Frontiers in Pharmacology. Keyword mapping identified three principal clusters: phytochemical and antioxidant characterization, metabolic and antidiabetic mechanisms, and hormonal and molecular regulation. Thematic analysis revealed a shift from compound characterization to mechanistic and translational studies integrating metabolism and reproductive endocrinology. Conclusion: Global research increasingly highlights CGA as a bridge between metabolic and hormonal regulation. Our findings show a shift toward interdisciplinary, molecular investigations, but reveal significant gaps in clinical validation and formulation research. Unlocking CGA’s therapeutic potential in metabolic and reproductive health will depend on advanced multiomics, enhanced formulations, and greater global research partnerships.
