Abstract

The study has the aim of analyzing critically related to the implementation of the independent learning concept in cultural arts learning. The data collection techniques used in the study were observation, interviews, and document studies. The study used triangulation techniques to maintain the reliability of the data, through data triangulation, source triangulation, and method triangulation. The data analysis technique used in the study is text analysis in choreography context and analysis context in interactive form by following steps namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, formulating conclusions/ verification. The theoretical formula used in this study is Fisk's theory of the concept of independent learning. The results showed that Babalu Dance learning at SMP Negeri 3 Batang implemented the online freedom of learning concept by utilizing social media platforms namely Whatsapp and Zoom Meeting. The process of cultural arts learning online was reflected in; students could learn at different times and places, student learning was more individual, students had choices in determining how they learnt, the teachers applied project-based learning, the learning was more directed to field experiences, students were more interactive in processing data, teachers could make assessments variously, student involvement, and even though it was online the teacher continued to monitor students in every activity that was carried out.

Abstract

The existence of metalcraft in Tumang village which still exists until now has become part of the life of the local community there. This makes the metalcraft as a cultural product. It means that the metalcraft have a certain place in the social production, circulation, and consumption. This study aims to analyze the establishment of cultural products of metalcraft in Tumang village. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data analysis was carried out after the data collection. The data collection was conducted by observation, interviews, and document studies. The data analysis used phenomenological model analysis. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of Tumang metalcraft can be seen through its manufacturing technique, namely mbabar process.The cultural production in Tumang metalcraft was formed from the meeting of several agents. The meeting of agents is controlled and supported by habitus, capital, and strategy so that they can compete in the field of cultural production. Through this competition, the agents who have strong capital will maintain their social positions so that they become the dominating party. Meanwhile, the agents whose capitals are weak or dominated will struggle by means of resistance. The resistance is done by creating a new view of the world so that they can struggle in the production field of Tumang metalcraft.

Abstract

The Kupu-Kupu Manis Dance (Cute Butterfly Dance) is a creative dance that comes from the Cute Butterfly song with the characteristic variety of butterfly movements when flying in the garden. This dance is used as one of the dances given in the era of the covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to provide an overview of the psychological and sociocultural character values ​​given through learning the Kupu-Kupu Manis Dance in intracurricular activities. The research was conducted using qualitative analysis research methods with the research location in RA Aisyiyah Pudakpayung Semarang. Instruments and data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and document studies. The data validity technique uses data triangulation techniques. Meanwhile, data analysis and processing techniques were carried out by collecting, reducing, clarifying, and verifying data. The character values ​​given by the teacher through the Sweet Butterfly Dance to students are expected to instill values ​​in everyday life. The value given is also an added value for students because they have been given the values ​​given earlier by the family (parents) and the surrounding environment. The value instilled in students from an early age is a good effort because it makes students know the values ​​of character education, especially through learning Kupu-Kupu Manis Dance in schools, namely RA Aisyiyah Pudakpayung Semarang.

Abstract

One of the architectural relics in Kudus beside the Menara Kudus Mosque, there is the Gate of Wali Loram Kulon Mosque. The gate implicitly functions as a religious, social and cultural center for the Loram community. This study aims to describe the function of Wali Mosque gate for the Loram Kulon community in Kudus Regency. This research studied the individual functions, social functions and physical functions. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Meanwhile, data analysis used observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Loram Kulon community around Wali Loram Mosque is a religious community. It was proven by the belief in carrying out the Shari'a, traditions and customs as well as social and cultural life. Harmony and tolerance are the results of the gate function. There are three traditions that exist and lead to the gate of Wali Loram Kulon Mosque in Kudus. They are Sego Kepel or rice ball tradition, Nganten Mubeng Gapuro, and Ampyang Maulid tradition. People believe that bad things will happen if they do not carry out the traditions. Therefore, the inheritance of cultural values can certainly be structured and transmitted at least through the local schools in Loram Kulon village, Kudus Regency to convey the local wisdom continuously.
