Abstract

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM2) is a chronic disease that requires high compliance in treatment to prevent complications. However, many DM2 patients are not compliant in undergoing drug therapy, which can hinder the effectiveness of treatment. Various factors have been identified as determinants of patient compliance, including demographic factors, knowledge, social support, and technology utilization. This study aims to analyze factors that influence medication adherence in DM2 patients based on a systematic review of several studies that have been conducted. The method used in writing this article is a literature review study with a systematic review method. The articles reviewed were obtained through searches on Google Scholar, Pubmed, Proquest, and ScienceDirect in the period 2015-2025 with the search keywords being Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Medication Compliance, Compliance Factors, Medication Supervisors . By using PRISMA, from 10,697 articles found, 10 journal articles were obtained to be reviewed. Based on the analysis of several studies, factors that have a significant influence on patient compliance in taking medication are the level of knowledge (p = 0.002), family support (p = 0.000; PR = 8.17 ) , and support from health workers (p = 0.000; PR = 6.10). Social Marketing, Frailty Syndrome and Age were also found to have a relationship with DM medication compliance. In addition, the use of technology such as medication reminder applications (PMO) has been shown to help improve patient compliance in undergoing DM2 therapy. Compliance of DM2 patients in undergoing drug therapy is influenced by various factors, including level of knowledge, social support, social marketing, age , frailty syndrome, and use of technology. Therefore, strategies to improve compliance must involve an educational approach, strengthening the role of families and health workers, and utilizing digital-based technology to increase the effectiveness of DM2 therapy.

Abstract

Geologically, Indonesia is located at the confluence of three large plates: Indo-Australian, Eurasian, and Pacific. It passes through two of the world's main volcanic routes, making it a disaster-prone area. As a result, Indonesia has many active volcanoes, including Mount Merapi. In disaster conditions, students are a vulnerable group, both physically and psychosocially, due to disruption to the learning process and potential trauma. Efforts to increase preparedness through implementing the sister school program, namely cooperation between affected and buffer schools, are urgently needed. However, the implementation of this program in Magelang Regency is still not optimal, especially in its integration into the sister village program, so that vulnerability to disasters during school hours remains high. The solution implemented is to help schools increase their preparedness capacity. The results showed increased participants' understanding of the concepts, benefits and roles of buffer and affected schools in the disaster mitigation framework. Therefore, efforts are still needed to develop affected and buffer schools integrated into disaster-resilient villages.

Abstract

Low Birth Weight is one of the leading causes of under-five deaths during the neonatal period. In Indonesia, the infant mortality rate is in the top 7 in the world. The industrial environment, where air pollution is high, is one of the factors causing LBW. The study aimed to identify the factors that influence the incidence of LBW in an industrial environment. Using data from a cohort of pregnant women in 2023, the study used a nested case-control design at Bergas Community Health Centre. The study population included all mothers who delivered live infants in 2023, totalling 832 respondents. Data from the study were analysed using Chi-Square for bivariate analysis and logistic regression for multivariate analysis. The results showed a relationship between maternal age, parity, maternal nutritional status, hypertension, preeclampsia, and anaemia with the occurrence of LBW with p < 0.0001. The multivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between maternal age (OR 3.233, 95% CI 1.557 – 6.714), parity (OR 2.567, 95% CI 1.382 – 4.767), maternal nutritional status (OR 7.905, 95% CI 3.472 – 17.998), preeclampsia (OR 28.090, 95% CI 9.894 – 84.468), and maternal hemoglobin levels (OR 10.883, 95% CI 5.736 – 20.649) with the incidence of LBW. The most influential factor in LBW is the occurrence of preeclampsia in mothers.
