Abstract

Introduction: Improper infant positioning and attachment during breastfeeding is a common problem among mothers, mainly due to a lack of knowledge about breastfeeding techniques. This lack of understanding regarding correct breastfeeding technique contributes to nipple fissures and breast engorgement, ultimately impacting infant nutrition. This study aimed to assess how LATCH-based education method influences the proper latching of breastfeeding mothers in Magelang City Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental pre-post design conducted in Magelang City. The participants were breastfeeding mothers who were doing it for the first time. A total of 44 participants were enrolled as samples through purposive sampling. The tools used included a questionnaire and an evaluation observation sheet to gauge the effectiveness of breastfeeding techniques. The data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Results: The results showed that three respondents had good attachment accuracy (6.8%), 38 mothers had sufficient latch (86.6%), and 3 had inadequate latch (6.8%). After receiving education, 32 respondents (72.7%) had a good latch, while 12 respondents (27.3%) had a sufficient latch. Respondents who achieved LATCH-Score indicators increased, including LATCH-on, audible swallowing comfort, and hold with a total increase of respondents of 5 (12%), 24 (76%), 20 (46%), and 15 (34%), respectively. There was a significant relationship between latch accuracy before and after being given education about breastfeeding techniques in primigravida breastfeeding mothers in the Magelang City area (P value= 0.000). Conclusion: Latch score-based breastfeeding education on breastfeeding techniques affects how well new mothers attach their infants during breastfeeding. It is potentially used to support successful breastfeeding.

Abstract

According to data from the International Labour Organization (ILO), an estimated 374 million workers are affected by non-fatal accidents each year, many of which severely affect workers' ability to work. PT. Sanpak Unggul has implemented 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) but there are still 5S findings, such as there are still materials to be processed that are not neatly arranged, materials are scattered and the equipment used in the manufacturing process is not well organized. This study aims to determine the relationship between age, length of work, level of education and level of knowledge with the application of 5S. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach with a sample of 83 people taken using a simple random sampling technique, through questionnaires and analyzed using Univariate. The results of the study processed using the chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between the level of education (p value = 0.006) and the level of knowledge (p = 0.009) with the application of 5S, there is no relationship between the variables age (p = 1.000) and length of work (p = 0.386) with the application of 5S. The conclusion of this research is that the level of education and knowledge is related to the implementation of 5S. Increasing the educational level criteria in the recruitment process is one method that can be implemented in companies. Meanwhile, the level of knowledge can be increased by adding pamphlets and training regarding 5S.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) protection is the fundamental right of every worker and a legal component that should be implemented in the workplace, including the informal sector. Many informal sectors in Indonesia still have high potential hazards; including those related to the work environment, chemical substance management, inadequate knowledge of employers and workers, non-compliance with OSH standards, and suboptimal prevention of work-related accidents and illnesses. This study aims to analyze the OSH conditions in the informal sector and their influence on occupational accidents in various informal sectors in Indonesia. The study adopts an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional design, using purposive sampling technique. The selected informal sectors include paint workshops, batik, furniture and salons. An interesting finding from this research indicates that the variable influencing occupational accidents in the informal sector is chemical hazards, with a significance value <0.05, i.e., 0.035, and Exp (B) of 64.188, meaning that workplace chemical hazards affect the occurrence of occupational accidents 64.188 times more. Therefore, intensive supervision and guidance regarding the work environment, especially chemical substance management, must be continuously enhanced.

Abstract

Psycho-social hazards in children at school include violence against children, peer victimization, discrimination, heavy academic pressure and bullying. The impact of psycho-social hazards on children is very serious, such as children becoming low self-esteem, aggressive, depressed, injured, drug abuse, experiencing personality disorders, tending to want to hurt themselves and even wanting to commit suicide. On the other hand, parenting styles, students' socio-economic conditions and the influence of gadgets and social media can make children more exposed to psycho-social hazards, whether at school, in their families or in the environment where they live. Manifestations of existing problems include students committing physical violence at school, mocking friends, and even threatening their school friends, whether the school knows about it or not. The aim of this activity is to increase children's knowledge regarding potential psycho-social hazards at school and know how to prevent them. Implementation methods include: 1) preparation stage, 2) implementation stage and 3) evaluation stage. This activity has received an ethical certificate no. 313/KEPK/FK/KLE/2024 from the Health Research Ethics Commission, Faculty of Medicine, UNNES. The results of this activity obtained an increase in teacher knowledge by 2 points, namely from an average of 83 to 85, while the average student knowledge increased significantly, namely from 53 to 80 (an increase of 27 points). Therefore, learning innovation through various media, including educational game media, is very necessary to accelerate the increase in children's knowledge which can be obtained more enjoyably.
