stimulate physical movement. As a result, children's gross motor development has not been achieved optimally. To address this issue, mini basketball games were introduced as an engaging and enjoyable learning activity aimed at improving children's gross motor abilities.The objective of this research was to examine the effect of mini basketball games on the gross motor skills of children at TK Bhayangkari 1 Padang. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest design. The participants consisted of 16 children from Class B1.Data were collected through observation and performance assessments administered before and after the implementation of the mini basketball activities. The collected data were analyzed using normality testing and hypothesis testing with the assistance of SPSS version 27.0.The findings revealed a significant improvement in children's gross motor skills following the treatment. The total pretest score increased from 205 to 321 in the posttest. In addition, the hypothesis test produced a significance value of 0.00, which was lower than the 0.05 significance level (0.00 < 0.05). These results indicate that mini basketball games had a significant positive effect on the gross motor development of early childhood children.Therefore, mini basketball games can be considered an effective alternative learning activity to support and enhance children's gross motor skills.

Abstract

Aggressive behavior in early childhood is a common social-emotional problem found in kindergartens. This behavior can include hitting, pushing, grabbing toys, screaming, and difficulty controlling emotions. This study aims to determine the effect of a cooperative play program on addressing aggressive behavior in children at Angkasa Padang Kindergarten. The study used a quantitative approach with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 30 children divided into an experimental class and a control class, each with 15 children. Data were collected through observations of the children's aggressive behavior. The results showed that the average pre-test score in the experimental class was 16.33, increasing to 20.87 in the post-test after being treated with the cooperative play program. The independent sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.023 (<0.05), indicating a significant effect of the cooperative play program on reducing children's aggressive behavior. Therefore, cooperative play can be used as an alternative learning strategy to develop social-emotional skills and reduce aggressive behavior in early childhood.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low early literacy skills of children at Mentari Bunda Islamic Kindergarten, which is indicated by the large number of children aged 5-6 years who have difficulty recognizing letters, distinguishing similar letter shapes, and composing simple words, while learning is still dominated by conventional media such as letter cards and worksheets. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design was used, involving 30 children divided into an experimental class (n=15) using Smart Adventure Box and a control class (n=15) using flashcards and worksheets. Data were collected through observation using a validated five-indicator instrument and analyzed with an Independent Sample t-test after normality and homogeneity assumptions were met. Results showed the experimental class's total score increased from 169 (pretest) to 265 (posttest), higher than the control class's increase from 141 to 212, with a significant difference between groups (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.001 < 0.05). These findings indicate that Smart Adventure Box significantly improves early literacy skills and can be recommended as an interactive alternative learning medium for early childhood education.

Abstract

The different degrees of independence seen in the two to three-year-old toddlers at Babyboss House in Padang City served as the impetus for this study. "Practical life" daily living activities are one type of activity that can be used to help youngsters develop their coordination, focus, discipline, responsibility, and independence. The purpose of this study was to ascertain how practical life activities affected the independence of two to three-year-old children at Babyboss House in Padang City. A quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design was used in the quantitative approach. A preschool class (experimental group) and a regular class (control group), each with 13 children, made up the sample. The study population totalled 39 children. Tests, observations, and documentation were used in the data collection process, with an independence assessment sheet serving as the instrument. Normality checks, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and effect size computations using SPSS software were all part of the data analysis process. According to the findings, children in the experimental group saw a greater improvement in their independence abilities than children in the control group. The experimental group's mean post-test score was 25.08, while the control group's score was 18.46.After hypothesis testing produced a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05), Ha was accepted and Hâ‚€ was rejected. Practical life activities have a significant impact on improving the independence of children aged 2-3 years at Babyboss House, Padang City, according to the computed effect size of 3.8, which falls into the "very large effect" category.
