Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to explore further the role of physical activity in improving brain function and cognitive aspects and to provide a detailed description of a neuroscientific perspective on how physical activity can contribute to cognitive function in particular. The method used in writing this article is a literature study approach. The sources of information in this article come from various articles on Google Scholar, Elsevier, and Researchgate, using the keywords physical education, physical activity, cognitive aspects, and brain abilities. The articles used as sources of information in this study are articles published between 2013 and 2023. The conclusion from this literature study is that involvement in various physical activities in everyday life can help humans improve brain performance abilities and also encourage improvements cognitive aspect. Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) untuk memperkenalkan atau melakukan Pelatihan terkait pemahaman/pengenalan cabang olahraga pickleball pada guru Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga dan Kesehatan (PJOK) di Kabupaten Sengkang. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini dengan melakukan pelatihan pickleball. Hasil dari sosialisasi ini memberi motivasi kepada guru-guru untuk turut serta mengambil bagian dari olahraga pickleball selain menjadi atlet olahraga pickleball dapat meningkatkan kebugaran jasmani. Dengan organisasi yang sudah berjalan, oleh karena itu sosialisasi giat dilakukan diharapkan olahraga pickleball menjadi olahraga yang populer di kalangan masyarakat. Dengan adanya pelatihan ini dapat menyebarluaskan olahraga pickleball di semua lapisan masyarakat selain dapat menjaring minat siswa disekolah untuk menjadi atlet berprestasi dalam cabang olahraga pickleball

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classified as quantitative research with a quasi-experimental one group pretest posttest design. This research aims to determine the effect of case method learning in an effort to improve students' critical thinking abilities. The sample in this study was 42 students from the Physical Education, Health and Recreation Study Program at FIK UNM. Sampling was carried out using random sampling technique. The data analysis technique to answer the hypothesis was carried out using a paired sample t test using data from the pre-test and post-test results of students' critical thinking abilities. Meanwhile, to determine the effectiveness of the treatment given, the N-Gain test is carried out. Based on the results of research and data analysis, it can be obtained that the difference between the mean pre-test and post-test values is -12.024, with a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 or 0.05. Meanwhile, for the N-Gain test results, the mean value was 0.53. So it can be concluded that the case method learning model has an effect on improving students' critical thinking skills with moderate effectiveness.Keywords: Case method, Critical Thinking, Students  Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen one group pretest posttest design. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran case method dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 42 orang mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatn, dan Rekreasi FIK UNM. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling. Teknik analisis data untuk menjawab hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji paired sample t test dengan menggunakan data hasil pre-test dan post-test kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Sedangkan untuk menentukan efektifitas perlakuan yang diberikan, dilakukan dengan uji N-Gain. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data dapat didapatkan selisih nilai mean pre-test dan post-test sebesar -12,024, dengan nilai Sig.(2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 atau 0,05. Sedangkan untuk hasil uji N-Gain didapatkan nilai mean sebesar 0,53. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran case method berpengaruh dalam peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dengan efektifitas kategori sedang.Kata Kunci: Case method, Berpikir Kritis, Mahasiswa

Abstract

This study's objective is to ascertain how the utilization of digital animation video platforms as a learning medium enhances the engagement and academic achievements of Physical Education students in grade V at Tanggul Patompo I Elementary School, located in Makassar City. This study employs an experimental design, utilizing a pre-test and post-test design. The study's variables include student interest and learning achievement in the context of physical education. In this study, the instrument used was a questionnaire containing statements that would be used to reveal students' interests and learning achievement when implementing physical education. The study provided a digital platform to facilitate the learning process. The sample in this study consisted of one class of 30 students. The results of the study showed that the N-Gain test of interest data had the lowest percentage increase of 75.51%, the highest percentage increase of 94.87%, and the average percentage increase of 84.5%. Meanwhile, the N-Gain test of learning outcome data showed the lowest percentage increase of 55.56%, the highest percentage increase of 8.24%, and an average percentage increase of 68.9%. Therefore, it is concluded that animation video platform-based learning media are quite effective in improving the learning achievement of physical education students in grade V at Tanggul Patompo Elementary School I, Makassar City.

Abstract

This study is an experimental approach that utilizes educational video-based play methods to enhance the social-emotional skills of children with special needs through physical education learning. This study employs a single-group pretest-posttest research design. The number of samples in this study was 23 children with special needs. The data collection technique employed a social emotional questionnaire, which consisted of 15 statements provided to parents of students and had a Cronbach's Alpha instrument reliability of 0.952. We used a paired sample t-test for the data analysis technique. The results of the data analysis showed that the Sig. data value was 0.001 < 0.05. Therefore, we can conclude that the pre-test and post-test data on the social-emotional aspects of children with special needs differ. Furthermore, the mean value of the pre-test social-emotional data was 45.04, while the mean value of the post-test social-emotional data was 52.13, resulting in a mean difference of 7.087. Based on these results, we can conclude that the video-based play learning method in physical education influences the social-emotional aspects of children with special needs. Meanwhile, the results of the N-Gain test show that the effectiveness of the video-based play method in physical education learning to improve the social emotions of children with special needs is in the moderate category.

Abstract

Abstract: This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This study was conducted in the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Study Program, Makassar State University. The subjects of the study were lecturers of the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Study Program, Makassar State University. A total of seven lecturers were selected as the main informants of this study. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling method, taking into account the variation of their institutions and background experiences to obtain diverse perspectives. Interview guidelines were prepared based on the research theme, but the researcher still provided space for informants to develop answers freely. The main instrument in this study was the researcher herself, who acted as a data collector and analyzer. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the teaching strategies of physical education lecturers in the digital era are very varied and adaptive to the needs of students. Lecturers not only use technology as a tool, but also as a means to create more interesting, relevant, and meaningful learning. This diverse approach reflects the lecturers' commitment to increasing student participation in physical education learning.Keywords: Strategy, Lecturer, Participation, Physical Education, Digital Era  Abstrak: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatan, dan Rekreasi Universitas Negeri Makassar. Subjek penelitian adalah dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatan, dan Rekreasi Universitas Negeri Makassar. Sebanyak tujuh dosen dipilih sebagai informan utama penelitian ini. Informan dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dengan mempertimbangkan variasi institusi dan latar belakang pengalaman mereka untuk mendapatkan perspektif yang beragam. Pedoman wawancara disusun berdasarkan tema penelitian, tetapi peneliti tetap memberikan ruang bagi informan untuk mengembangkan jawaban secara bebas. Instrumen utama dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri, yang bertindak sebagai pengumpul dan penganalisis data. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi pengajaran dosen pendidikan jasmani di era digital sangat bervariasi dan adaptif terhadap kebutuhan mahasiswa. Para dosen tidak hanya menggunakan teknologi sebagai alat bantu, tetapi juga sebagai sarana untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih menarik, relevan, dan bermakna. Pendekatan yang beragam ini mencerminkan komitmen dosen untuk meningkatkan partisipasi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani.Kata Kunci: Strategi, Dosen, Partisipiasi, Pendidikan Jasmani, Era Digital

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study that aims to determine the motivation of students of the Physical Education, Health and Recreation Study Program of FIK UNM. the sample in this study amounted to 50 people who were determined using purposive sampling technique. The purposive samplin technique is a sample withdrawal technique using certain criteria. The data collection technique was carried out using a Likert scale questionnaire with a choice of 5 (five) answers. The data analysis technique was carried out with descriptive tests to determine the mean value and standard deviation which was then used to determine the data categorization interval. The results showed that 5 students (10%) had very low motivation, 12 students (24%) had low motivation, 11 students (22%) had moderate motivation, and 22 students (44%) had high motivation. The conclusion in this study is that the motivation of students of the Physical Education, Health and Recreation Study Program is in the high category.

Abstract

Long jump ability is influenced by various factors, one of which is physical condition. So that training is needed that can encourage the improvement of physical conditions such as training to increase the explosive power of leg muscles. This research is included in the experimental research category. Experimental research aims to investigate and improve the manifestation of explosive power in muscles. The sample in this study amounted to 17 people selected by total sampling technique. The stages in this study include taking pre-test data, providing treatment in the form of explosive power training, and taking post-test data. The data analysis technique used to answer the hypothesis is to use the paired sample T test. Based on the results of data analysis, the Sig. value of 0.000 <0.05 was obtained with a mean value for the pre-test of long jump ability of 3.2 and a mean value for the post-test of long jump of 4.3. So it can be concluded that leg muscle explosive power training has an effect in improving the long jump ability of PJKR-SD FIK UNM students with an increase of 34.4%.

Abstract

Kegiatan sosialisasi terkait Tes Keterampilan Olahraga dan Kebugaran Jasmani dalam konteks Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes (SNBT) dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat, khususnya siswa, terhadap pentingnya kebugaran jasmani dan aturan tes keterampilan. Program ini ditujukan untuk mengatasi kurangnya pemahaman tentang kebugaran jasmani dan tantangan pelaksanaan tes keterampilan yang jarang diterapkan di satuan pendidikan, terutama di Sulawesi Selatan. Dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, dan demonstrasi, program ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran siswa terhadap kebugaran jasmani sebagai bagian dari gaya hidup sehat. Selain itu, kegiatan ini memperkenalkan materi Tes Kebugaran Jasmani Indonesia (TKJI) yang relevan dengan kebutuhan peserta. Hasilnya, peserta memahami berbagai aspek kebugaran jasmani, seperti kesehatan fisik, aktivitas fisik, nutrisi, penurunan risiko penyakit, manfaat kesehatan mental, gaya hidup sehat, pendidikan, instrumen pengukuran, dan pengaruh lingkungan. Sosialisasi ini juga menumbuhkan antusiasme peserta untuk mempersiapkan diri lebih baik dalam mengikuti SNBT, terutama di Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan dan Kesehatan Universitas Negeri Makassar.

Abstract

Teaching is a systematic and efficient method of making the right decisions. This includes decision making regarding content, methodology, duration, student grouping, questioning techniques, follow-up questions, and the review process in the context of teaching. Community service activities aim to conduct audio-visual-based learning media training for physical education, sports, and health (PJOK) teachers in Polewali Mandar Regency. The audio-visual-based learning media training activity uses a mentoring method. Participants in this activity were 50 Physical Education and Sports teachers in Polewali Mandar Regency. To solve the problem of the lack of teacher understanding in creating effective learning media for improving student learning outcomes, the team provided a solution by providing audio-visual-based teaching material training which was carried out through stages of activities consisting of socialization stages, training stages, and evaluation stages. The targeted outputs after the implementation of this activity were that PJOK teachers in Polewali Mandar understood the appropriate learning media given according to student needs, understood the benefits of audio-visual media, and understood how to compile audio-visual-based teaching materials.
