Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of countries in scientific publications related to the development of Geography learning media during the period 2019 to 2024. The method used is bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software, with publication data obtained through the Publish or Perish application and sourced from Google Scholar. The visualization results show that the United States is the country with the highest contribution in this study, as seen from the most dominant node size and central position in the collaboration network. Other countries such as China, Indonesia, India, and Germany also show significant levels of involvement, reflected in the number of collaborative relationships and large node sizes. On the other hand, the involvement of countries such as South Korea, Austria, Mexico, and Kenya is observed to be lower, with minimal connectivity intensity. These findings indicate that the issue of developing Geography learning media has become a global concern, with the dominance of contributions from countries that have strong research and education capacities

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of natural tourism objects in Bone District, Bone Bolango Regency, based on the criteria of Natural Tourism Object Assessment (ODTWA). The research uses a descriptive approach combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Data were collected through observations, interviews with visitors, local communities, and village government officials, as well as questionnaires developed according to 15 ODTWA criteria. The study focuses on three main tourist attractions: Taludaa Beach, Bidadari Pool, and Ilohuuwa Waterfall. Results indicate that Taludaa Beach has the highest potential with strong natural attraction, adequate supporting facilities, ease of access, and environmental cleanliness. Bidadari Pool shows good comfort and service facilities but requires improvement in accessibility. Ilohuuwa Waterfall, while having unique natural beauty, scores lower particularly in accessibility and basic facilities. The discussion highlights supporting factors such as natural beauty and community hospitality, as well as inhibitors like poor infrastructure and limited amenities. Sustainable tourism development requires enhanced facilities, proper resource management, and active community involvement. This study provides important recommendations for the synergy among government, community, and private sector to optimize tourism potential while ensuring environmental preservation and economic benefits

Abstract

Structuring and analyzing land suitability is very important for planning coastal area development because land use in coastal areas often gives rise to community conflicts and overlapping tumpeng. The aim of this research is to provide land for settlements on the coast of Boalemo Regency. Physical aspects of land, accessibility and availability of environmental infrastructure are the variables of this research. Geographic information system software is used to conduct spatial research. The area that is very suitable for settlement is 1667.02 (1.74%). Sufficiently suitable area for the organization is 58850.71 (61.51%). The marginal suitable area for the organization is 32944.80 (34.44%). Areas that are not suitable for the organization are 2088.04 (2.18%) and areas that are not permanently suitable for the organization are 121.08 (0.13%).

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the land suitability for residential development in the coastal areas of Bolaang Mongondow Utara Regency. A spatial analysis approach based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was employed, utilizing techniques such as buffering, overlay, and scoring to assess the suitability parameters. The evaluated parameters include slope, soil type, accessibility (Distance to Main Road), land use, distance to coastline, and distance to river. The spatial analysis results indicate that the majority of the study area is categorized as marginally suitable for settlement (18,619.35 ha or 55.73%), while highly suitable areas account for 1,847.10 ha (36.05%). These findings provide important insights for regional planning by the local government in managing coastal residential development.

Abstract

Maleo (Macrocephalon maleo), a unique Sulawesi endemic bird, is threatened by habitat loss. This study aims to analyse changes in maleo habitat areas in Sulawesi using spatial data and propose effective conservation measures. Spatial data in the form of maleo home range maps (IUCN) were used for overlay analysis. The results of the overlay analysis were compared with land cover data to identify changes in maleo habitat area. Of the total area of approximately 884,040 hectares, 14.13% or 124,887.63 hectares have been converted to agricultural land. The construction of new settlements has affected 0.46% or 4,087.5 hectares of the habitat. In addition, plantations have occupied 2.82% or 24,965.92 hectares of the maleo habitat area. Changes to maleo habitat areas in Gorontalo are significant, with agricultural land conversion, settlement development, and plantations being the main threats. Effective conservation efforts should focus on habitat restoration, law enforcement, community education, and the development of environmentally friendly economic alternatives.

Abstract

Identification of Changes in Bajo Tribe Settlements in Lemito Village, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province. This study aims to identify changes in the settlements of the Bajo tribe in Lemito Village, Pohuwato Regency, as well as to identify the social, economic, and environmental factors that influence these transformations. The research methods used include spatial analysis of satellite imagery from 2011 to 2025 combined with surveys and field interviews. The results show that the settlement area has increased significantly from 1.85 hectares in 2011 to 3.65 hectares in 2025. Population growth, which reached 1,099 people, also triggered an increase in residential density and the conversion of mangrove land into built-up areas. Socioeconomically, 75% of the community has switched their livelihoods to the land sector, while 62.5% of respondents assessed that the Bajo tribe's culture has begun to experience a decline in traditional values. These findings indicate that the changes in the Bajo tribe's settlements are a form of community adaptation to the tide of modernization and coastal development

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of income levels on the number of poor people in Gorontalo City, which, despite experiencing economic growth, still faces significant poverty issues. Gorontalo City heavily relies on the agriculture and fisheries sectors, which are vulnerable to climate change and market fluctuations, causing the income of the majority of its population to remain low and unstable. Previous studies have shown that although income has increased, high social and economic disparities have exacerbated poverty. In this study, we used simple linear regression analysis, which revealed a moderate relationship between income levels and the number of poor people, although the regression model has a low explanatory power (R-squared of 0.2160). The results indicate that, despite income growth, income inequality remains the primary factor contributing to the high poverty rate. The implications of these findings highlight the need for policies that focus more on income redistribution and the empowerment of the informal sector to reduce social inequality and improve the well-being of the people in Gorontalo sustainably
