Abstract

Grammar Translation Method (GTM) is a language learning method that focuses on understanding grammar and translating texts from a foreign language to the mother tongue, and vice versa. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Grammar Translation Method in teaching grammar concepts, especially tenses, in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classes, especially at Star English Course Parepare. The research method used is quantitative survey. The samples of this research were students from Level 4 (Advance 1 and Advance 2) Star English Course Parepare. In this research, the researcher used total sampling techniques and took 70 students as sample. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with hypothesis testing carried out by using simple linear regression analysis using the SPSS 25 program. The results of the research show that Grammar Translation Method has a significant influence on students' difficulties in learning tenses. Seen from the Tcount value of 9,755 > T-table 1,995 with a significance of 0,007 < 0,05. Statistical test results show that Grammar Translation Method has a positive and significant impact on students' learning difficulties. And psychological factor is the most influential aspects of students’ difficulties in learning tenses through Grammar Translation Method. Fear of making mistakes, lack of confidence, and linguistic anxiety are the main obstacles in the learning process. Therefore, there is a need for a more varied, communicative, and student-centered approach in learning Tenses.

Abstract

Herbal medicines are increasingly used as antibacterial therapy due to their accessibility and affordability. Kaempferia galanga L. (kencur) rhizome contains ethyl p-methoxycinnamate (EPMS), an active compound with anti-acne properties. EPMS at 1.2% in cream formulations has shown antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Staphylococcus aureus. However, creams are unsuitable for oily skin as they may worsen acne. Peel-off gels offer a better alternative because it is non-greasy, supports exfoliation, stimulates cell regeneration, minimizes pores, and helps cleanse and moisturize the skin. This study aimed to formulate a physically stable anti-acne peel-off gel containing EPMS using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) at 10% and 12%. EPMS was isolated from kencur rhizome and incorporated into gel bases. Evaluations included organoleptic properties, viscosity, homogeneity, pH, drying time, spreadability, and accelerated stability at 27 ± 2 °C and 40 ± 2 °C for 21 days. Results showed that EPMS can be successfully formulated into peel-off gels with PVA 10% and 12%. The gels exhibited yellowish-white color, honey-like odor, homogeneity, pH 5.21–5.35, drying time 17–30 minutes, spreadability 55–68 mm, and viscosity 4,900–16,000 cPs. All formulations maintained physical stability under test conditions. This study provides a scientific basis for the development of natural-based cosmetic products that are safe, particularly for oily skin, and do not worsen acne conditions.

Abstract

Ubud, one of two sub-districts in Gianyar Regency, Bali, has been designated as a Tourism Area under the Regional Regulation of Bali Province. However, it is facing significant environmental challenges. It is of the utmost importance to address these issues in order to achieve sustainable tourism. The government is pivotal in establishing an environment conducive to the growth and sustainability of the tourism industry. This study empirically examines the role of the Ubud government in supporting sustainable tourism. A qualitative approach was employed, incorporating triangulation in the data collection process. Techniques such as interviews, observations, field notes, document analysis, and a literature review were used, and the data was analysed using thematic analysis. The findings suggest that the local government has implemented a top-down management system for sustainable tourism, with its roles encompassing public infrastructure acquisitor, strategic collaborator, policy regulator, and security and safety maintenance.

Abstract

Education has shifted the work mindset of Generation Z (Gen-Z) in mountainous areas. A fairly good education, for example a high school/vocational school graduate, has shifted the desire to become a worker in the non-agricultural industrial sector, leaving behind the agricultural work that his parents started. From the preliminary survey, the main reason is actually the hard work of being a rice farmer on mountain slopes or terraced land. Many agricultural machines (agricultural tools) that have been created, starting from plows, rice harvesters and rice threshers, are still dominated for agricultural land in flat areas. This can be seen from the size of the existing machines which are very large and very difficult to use on terraced land. The application of smart machine technology is to make the rice harvesting process easier. The aim of this service is to foster a love of agricultural work for Gen-Z and to create food self-sufficiency. This service methodology starts from designing, manufacturing rice cutting and threshing machines, simulating and practicing. Then they will be taken to the service location to socialize on the use of the machine and the benefits that will be obtained by farmers. At the time of this service implementation, the service location in Tlahab Lor Village, Karangreja District, Purbalingga Regency, did not yet have rice ready to be harvested, therefore the service implementation only showed how the machine worked. It is said to be a smart machine because this machine has 3 (three) functions, namely cutting rice stalks, threshing rice and its main function is cutting grass. This machine is also portable because it only weighs less than 15 kg so it can be carried by itself to the harvest location in a terraced rice field model

Abstract

Media is one component that is the key to success in the teaching and learning process to achieve learning objectives. In the 21st century, it is often identified with the development of industry 4.0, where technological sophistication is advancing so that it can become a threat to the disappearance of local culture. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of wayang golek learning media in its role for learning achievement and active learning of students in the exemplary material of the Prophet Ibrahim a.s and Prophet Ismail a.s in the subject of Islamic Religious Education. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) using the Four-D (4D) model. The study population was students of SD at Bintan with the selected sample being class III SDN 001 Teluk Bintan. Collecting data through observation sheets, media and instrument validation, learning achievement questions and learning activity observation sheets. The results of the media trial, the value of learning achievement is seen from its completeness through the KKM and the value of student activity through observation during learning. Based on the trial, it was found that 75% of the students were complete in learning with scores above the KKM and the students seemed to be very active in participating in learning with the wayang golek media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Berbasis Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik SMP Negeri 13 Padang. Penelitian ini merupakan lanjutan dari penelitian pengembangan lembar kerja peserta didik berbasis Problem Based Learning untuk materi matematika kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan Quasi Eksperimen, desain yang digunakan adalah Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Dalam desain ini seluruh siswa kelas VIII diberi pretest untuk mengetahui keadaan awal ada atau tidaknya perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada November 2015 semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 13 Padang. Berdasarkan nilai U-test dan rata-rata yang diperoleh, maka dapat disimpulkan LKPD berbasis PBL efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik. LKPD berbasis PBL memberikan dampak yang positif terhadap peningkatakan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dikarenakan pembelajaran yang menggunakan LKPD berbasis PBL tersebut memberikan permasalahan yang dapat memfasilitasi peserta didik untuk berpikir secara logis, analitis, dan sistematis. Selain itu, permasalahan yang disajikan juga termasuk ke dalam soal pemecahan masalah, karena memiliki kriteria yang sama yaitu kontekstual, open-ended dan/atau non-rutin.

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine whether there is an effect of applying the Problem Based Learning model on mathematical problem solving abilities. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of applying the Problem Based Learning model on mathematical problem solving abilities?. Therefore, tcount > ttable (7,262 > 2,000) so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In addition, the experimental class mean was reached 82.286 which is higher than the control class mean was reached 62.171. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that there are differences in the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who use the Problem Based Learning model with students who learn to use conventional learning. With these differences, it can be concluded that there are differences in mathematical problem solving abilities between students who learn to use the Problem Based Learning Model and students who learn to use conventional learning by class VIII students at MTs.S Balung. Abstract

Generasi Z mereka tumbuh dalam era digital dengan akses mudah ke teknologi dan informasi. Namun, dalam perkembangan ekonomi yang semakin kompleks, peran penting menabung sejak dini tidak boleh diabaikan. Penyuluhan tentang pentingnya menabung sejak dini pada generasi Z menjadi esensial dalam mengarahkan mereka menuju stabilitas finansial dan kemandirian. Menabung merupakan kegiatan menyisihkan sebagian uang yang kita miliki untuk disimpan dengan berbagai macam tujuan yang ada. Menabung bukan hanya tindakan ekonomi, tetapi juga pembelajaran nilai-nilai penting seperti disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan perencanaan. GNRM (Gerakan Nasional Revolusi Mental) Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia melakukan penyuluhan mengenai pentingnya menabung sejak dini pada generasi Z. Para siswa kelas 6 Al Fityan School Tangerang sudah mulai memahami dengan pentingnya menabung sejak dini. Oleh karena itu, adanya kegiatan ini diperlukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan minat menabung pada anak. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan kegiatan sosialisasi dan pendampingan. Setelah kegiatan dilaksanakan memberikan dampak positif dan peningkatan atas pemahaman pada siswa peserta penyuluhan betapa pentingnya menabung sejak dini dan mengapa kita harus melakukan menabung. Terlihat para peserta sangat antusias dan merespon secara positif terkait topik tersebut. Kata kunci: Menabung, Generasi Z, Keuangan, Gerakan Nasional Revolusi Mental

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar berupa LKPD berbasis pendekatan open-ended untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik SMP kelas VII yang valid, praktis dan efektif pada materi persamaan linear dan mengetahui apakah LKPD tersebut dapat memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik dan memberikan pembelajaran yang bermakna bagi peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode pengembangan dengan model Plomp dengan tahap analisis pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan, dan tahap penilaian. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas 7 SMP Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota. Proses pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket untuk lembar validasi ahli dan melalui angket persepsi peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil rekapitulasi validitas dari para validator yang dipilih masuk dalam kategori “Valid”. Hasil analisis data angket validitas dan praktikalitas evaluasi kelompok kecil, diperoleh kategori valid dengan skor 37,8 dan kepraktisan dalam kategori praktis dengan persentase berada diantara 60%-80%. Hasil rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah kelas eksperiman yaitu 85,5 sedangkan rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah kelas kontrol yaitu 50,25. Berdasarkan hasil data tersebut perolehan hasil peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik pada persentase 70% dalam kategori efektif. Dengan demikian, Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Open-Ended untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik SMP kelas VII dapat digunakan. Kata kunci : Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD); Open-Ended; Pemecahan Masalah

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil keaktifan belajar siswa kelas III tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar Negeri 192 Pekanbaru dengan media Puzzle. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN 192 Pekanbaru. Subjek yang digunakan sebanyak 32 orang siswa yang terdiri dari 15 orang siswa laki-laki dan 17 siswa perempuan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang setiap siklus terdiri dari dua kali pertemuan. Instrumen pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes menulis karangan deskripsi, lembar observasi guru dan siswa sebagai tingkat keterlaksanaan dan pencapaian dalam menggunakan media Puzzle. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskripsi kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat diketahui terdapat peningkatan keaktifan belajar siswa pada muatan pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Data awal pratindakan ketuntasan belajar 31%, pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 38%, siklus I pertemuan II meningkat menjadi 44% kemudian pada siklus II pertemuan I meningkat menjadi 72%, dan siklus II pertemuan II meningkat lagi menjadi 81%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan dengan metode Puzzle meningkatkan Keaktifan belajar Siswa Kelas III dapat SDN 192 Pekanbaru.
