Abstract

This study aims to analyze character values found in folktales included in the Grade IV Indonesian Language textbook of the Merdeka Curriculum, and to examine the potential of these texts in shaping elementary students' character literacy. This is a qualitative study using content analysis. The primary data are folktales published in textbooks by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The results show that folktales are designed to promote literacy and character competencies, highlighting honesty, responsibility, and empathy. The study offers strategic recommendations for teachers to implement contextual learning based on local narrative texts.

Abstract

Genre Pedagogy is a text-based learning model. The learning process in the curriculum in Indonesia is to present language learning activities that refer to the Genre Pedagogy model. Articles that have been published contain many genre pedagogical models used in foreign language and non-language learning. Why was this research carried out? Looking at the digital-based conditions and times related to strong literacy skills in understanding various types of text. The aim of the research is to review literature related to the application of genre pedagogical learning models that use technology or are digitally based. The research method used is analysis or bibliometric methods sourced from Scopus and Crossref metadata using the Publish or Perish application. Based on searches and analysis using the Publish or Perish search system, it can be seen that there has not been a single study that specifically links it to digital-based Indonesian language learning. Thus, research is still needed on the application of digital-based genre pedagogy to Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

Writing is a complex and essential language skill that integrates cognitive, linguistic, and creative elements. Many students face challenges in developing writing process skills and critical thinking, particularly in short story composition. This study investigates the effectiveness of the guided inquiry learning model in enhancing students' writing process skills and critical thinking abilities. A true experimental design with a randomized control group was employed, involving two groups of 11th-grade students from SMA Negeri 4 Pandeglang (N = 64). The experimental group received instruction using the guided inquiry model, while the control group followed conventional methods. Data were collected through tests, observation sheets, documentation, and interviews. Students’ critical thinking skills were measured using a validated post-test and analyzed with the Independent Sample T-Test in SPSS 22. The results showed a progressive increase in the writing process skills of students in the experimental group across three meetings, with an overall average score of 76.46%, categorized as “good.” Additionally, the critical thinking post-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.0015, one-tailed), indicating the positive impact of guided inquiry learning on students' higher-order thinking. The guided inquiry model effectively enhances students’ short story writing process skills and significantly improves their critical thinking abilities. This model is recommended as an alternative instructional strategy for developing literacy and cognitive skills in secondary education.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has significantly transformed educational practices, particularly in the shift from conventional to digital learning models. In response to this transformation and the implementation of online learning policies by the Ministry of Education and Culture, this study aims to develop electronic teaching materials using a scientific approach for Indonesian language instruction in Class XI of vocational high schools. This research employed a development research design using the 4D model by Thiagarajan, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. However, the study focused solely on the first three stages due to time and resource constraints. The teaching materials were developed in the form of flipbook-based electronic modules and subjected to expert validation. Three domains were assessed: content (by material experts), language (by linguists), and visual design (by graphic experts). The validation results showed that the electronic flipbook teaching materials achieved an average feasibility score of 83.32%, which falls into the "Very Appropriate" category. Feedback from experts indicated strong alignment with curriculum standards, appropriate language usage for the target audience, and effective visual presentation. In conclusion, the developed flipbook-based electronic teaching materials are highly suitable for use in Class XI Indonesian language instruction, particularly in online learning contexts. Future research should focus on the dissemination stage and include empirical testing of learning outcomes with students to determine effectiveness in real classroom settings.

Abstract

Writing scientific papers is a critical academic skill that students must develop to express ideas derived from observation, research, or analysis in a structured and methodical manner. However, students often face challenges in mastering this skill. This study investigates the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving students’ ability to write scientific papers. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in two cycles at MA Mizanul Ulum YW UMI Sanrobone. Each cycle followed the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study involved student participants who were observed through activity sheets and assessed through writing assignments. Data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. Findings indicate a notable improvement in students' scientific writing performance after the implementation of the PBL model. In Cycle I, the average student score was 64, indicating that most had not yet met the minimum competency standard. After refining the instructional approach in Cycle II, the average score increased significantly to 81, demonstrating that all students achieved the required level of competence. The results suggest that the PBL model fosters student engagement and enhances their ability to develop and organize scientific content effectively. By actively involving students in problem-solving tasks, the model promotes deeper understanding and better writing outcomes. Implementing the PBL approach significantly improved students’ scientific writing skills and learning outcomes. This model is recommended for broader application in similar educational settings.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran penerapan pembelajaran apresiasi sastra dengan metode Moody yang menggunakan lirik lagu Tujuh Belas karya Tulus. Metode Moody dipakai sebagai cara untuk membuat pembelajaran apresiasi sastra menjadi tidak membosankan dimana siswa akan lebih banyak aktif menggali makna suatu karya di dalam kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh menggunakan analisis yang menghasilkan penggambaran penerapan pembelajaran apresiasi sastra menggunakan lirik lagu. Hasil dari penelitian ini, guru dapat menggunakan metode Moody untuk menyampaikan pembelajaran apresiasi sastra yang lebih menarik karena menggunakan enam tahapan yaitu pelacakan awal, penentuan sikap praktis, introduksi, penyajian, diskusi dan pengukuhan. Keenam tahapan ini mencakup dua prinsip sastra yaitu pertama, sastra sebagai pengalaman dengan memberikan pengetahuan baru kepada siswa melalui kegiatan apresiasi dan yang kedua adalah sastra sebagai Bahasa dimana siswa dapat menelaah unsur kebahasaan yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Abstract

Technology development in the digital era has transformed the world of literature, particularly for digital novels. The comment sections on digital literature provide a platform for direct interaction between authors and readers, which can influence the author's creative process. Therefore, this research aims to examine the author acceptance in responding to readers' feedback on their digital novels and to explore its impact on the creative process of the works produced. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a literary reception approach to understand readers' responses to three digital novels: "BarraKilla" by Nova Adhita, "Paradise Garden" by Khojina, and "Abi Ghea" by Chelsea Karina. Data were collected through documentation techniques and online observations of readers' comments, then it was analyzed using content analysis techniques and was validated through author interviews. The results of this study showed that readers' responses to digital novels are categorized into three aspects: domination, negotiation, and opposition. Dominant reception can support the plot and strengthen the narrative, while negotiation and opposition receptions can be considered in adjusting the story and evaluating it for the author. This study concludes that digital novel authors respond to readers' feedback through domination, negotiation, and opposition, where this interaction influences the story's development and creates a dynamic relationship between the author and the reader.

Abstract

Digital learning transformation has created significant opportunities for developing instructional media that support students’ metacognitive abilities, particularly in the Indonesian Language Education Study Program. This study aims to identify students’ preferences of digital learning media and their impact on learning habits and comprehension gaps. This research employed a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design, involving 123 Indonesian Language Education students from various semesters. Data were collected through quantitative surveys and In-Depth Interviews (IDI) to gain deeper insights. The results revealed that most students preferred digital media (77.24%) over conventional media (22.76%). Visual learning styles dominated (36.59%), with video platforms being the most favoured (32.52%). Correlation analysis showed a significant relationship between the frequency of digital media use and the reduction of comprehension gaps (r = 0.181; p = 0.046), although it was not significant for learning habits. The result of IDI highlights the need for collaborative features, gamification, better journal access, and more relevant support for Indonesian language learning. Data triangulation confirmed that digital media preferences contribute to reducing comprehension gaps, although they do not fully influence learning habits. This study recommends developing interactive and contextual digital learning media by integrating features that support active, collaborative, and based on local culture to strengthen students’ understanding in Indonesian language courses.

Abstract

The teacher has not provided a special method to improve reading skills, the teacher has not measured the students' reading speed and the percentage of understanding of the reading content that the students have achieved, apart from that, the students also think that reading is a very boring lesson Reading is an important skill that can have implications for other literacy skills. However, the average reading ability of SDN 1 Nameng students is still not optimal. The aim of this research is to improve students' reading literacy skills by using the speed reading method on students' science lesson material. The method used in this research is action research which refers to the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model using a spiral system cycle consisting of planning, implementing actions, observation and reflection. The results of class actions in cycle I averaged 72.34% and increased in cycle II with an average of 80.46%. The conclusion of the class action carried out shows that the speed reading method is able to improve students' reading literacy skills in science subject matter

Abstract

A This study examines the relationship between ecological interest and technological perception in shaping elementary students’ support toward ecology-based digital Indonesian language modules. The research employed a quantitative cross-sectional survey involving 212 fifth- and sixth-grade students from an elementary school in Depok, Indonesia. Data were collected through a questionnaire developed based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), focusing on ecological interest, technological perception, and students’ support toward eco-digital learning modules. The findings indicate that most students demonstrated positive responses toward the integration of ecological themes into Indonesian language learning. Ecological interest emerged as the strongest factor associated with students’ support, followed by technological perception and prior digital learning experience. Students with stronger ecological awareness and more positive perceptions of learning technology generally showed higher acceptance of eco-digital modules. However, several students still preferred contextual and experiential environmental learning activities alongside technology-based instruction. Overall, the study highlights the importance of integrating ecological literacy and accessible digital learning design in developing sustainability-oriented Indonesian language learning for elementary education.
