Abstract

Abstract

The use of E-Modules in the learning process is useful for increasing learning motivation because the neat packaging can make it easier for students to understand the lesson material. It is also necessary to enrich the module content with important phenomena or cases that can train students' high-level thinking skills. The aim of this research is to develop a teaching material product of an E-Module that addresses the topic of the relationship between stunting and environmental sanitation in Growth and Development material. The development methods used include determining potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, and design revision. The module content is divided into three learning activities which are also equipped with summaries, formative tests, evaluation questions, feedback/follow-up, answer keys, and a glossary. The results of content validation by five validators obtained a CVR value = 1 for all indicators from the four aspects, namely graphics, content, presentation, and language. Several revisions according to validator comments/input have been made to improve the quality of the module. The product design is declared valid or suitable to proceed to the next development stage.

Abstract

Teluk Nibung River in Batu Ampar District, Kubu Raya Regency is a transportation route for Mangrove Production Forests and a traditional fishing area for local communities. The community structure of phytoplankton in the Teluk Nibung River has never been reported. As the main producer in the waters food chain, the structure community of phytoplankton indicates the quality of the fertility of the waters. The community structure of phytoplankton can be identified by measuring the index of abundance, diversity, evenness and dominance. The survey method was used at three stations in dry and rainy seasons. Sample collection is using net plankton (30 µm) and preserved in 4% formalin. The physico-chemical factors measured included temperature, pH, brightness, current velocity, salinity, dissolved oxygen and CO2, phosphate and nitrate. Once identified, phytoplankton calculations are performed to obtain abundance, diversity, evenness, and dominance values. The species number of phytoplankton found was 56 classified into 6 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (34 species), Dinophyceae (12 species), Chlorophyceae (4 species), Cyanophyceae (3 species), Xantophyceae (1 species), and Euglenophyceae (2 species). The highest abundance of phytoplankton was in the Bacillariophyceae class with a range of 583 Ind./L at Station 2 in the rainy season to 3.922 Ind./L at Station 3 in the dry season. The diversity index at the three stations and both seasons is in the moderate category with a range of 2.31-2.46. The evenness index at the three stations and both seasons is in the high category with a range of 0.67-0.73. Low dominance level was found at the three stations and both seasons with values ranging from 0.14 to 0.19. Overall, the community structure of the phytoplankton in the Teluk Nibung River is in relatively good condition and can support the life of the aquatic biota in it.

Abstract

Print media such as encyclopedia still holds advantages in learning. As learning media, encyclopedias can be employed to convey current issues occurring in society that are broad and highly important. The high prevalence of toddlers with stunting indicates is crucial to be presented comprehensively. Encyclopedia can act as enrichment by discussing material that can broaden students' perspectives and understanding. However, limited encyclopedias have been developed. This research aims to develop an encyclopedia as a learning medium for Growth and Development material in high school. Enrichment with stunting information is aimed not only at increasing students' understanding, but also at supporting government programs related to efforts to reduce national stunting rates. The research and development method applied uses the ADDIE model which is limited to the first three stages (analysis, design, and development). The initial product is tested for suitability in six aspects, namely presentation, graphics, layout, content, language and use by 5 validators. The validity calculation uses the Aiken's V formula and the final value is 0.93. Referring to the minimum validity value for five validators, the encyclopedia that has been developed meets the valid category in all aspects and indicators. It is hoped that further research can be carried out to implement encyclopedias in learning.

Abstract

Abstract

Codiaeum variegatum (L.) Rumph. ex a. Juss is a common ornamental plant with a high variation of leaves shape and colour. This study aimed to analyze the leaves’ anatomy and the phenetic relationship between eight cultivars of C. variegatum which were defined by the differences in leaf morphology. The paraffin method prepared the transversal section of leaves, and anatomical characters were converted into binary data to calculate the similarity coefficient which was analyzed by Numerical Taxonomy System (NTSYS) 2.1 version. Leaves of eight cultivars of C. variegatum are varied in the anatomical structure of the primary vein and lamina. The eight cultivars of C. variegatum were clustered into four. The variations were found in 19 primary vein and lamina anatomy characteristics and the similarity coefficient is up to 0.59 between all cultivars. It can be concluded that the combination of leaf anatomical structures and midrib anatomical characters have notable taxonomic implications for future research.
