Abstract

The Society 5.0 era requires human resource development that goes beyond technical competence to include strong moral integrity and sustainability principles. Local wisdom, such as the Poda na Lima philosophy from the Sipirok community, offers potential as a foundation for holistic HR development. This study examines the relevance of Poda na Lima’s philosophy to HR development among Sipirok migrants living in Medan City. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved 12 informants from various professional backgrounds selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana data analysis model with support from the source, method, and theoretical triangulation. Results show that the five principles of Poda na Lima—Paias Rohamu (Cleansing the Soul), Paias Pamatangmu (Cleansing the Body), Paias Parabitonmu (Cleansing Clothing), Paias Bagasmu (Cleansing the House), and Paias Pakaranganmu (Cleansing the Environment)—have strategic relevance to modern HR development concepts. This philosophy works as an operational framework for building professional competence, character, and performance, while offering solutions to globalization challenges. This research confirms that Poda na Lima can be positioned as an Indigenous Management Framework that provides a competitive advantage by integrating noble local wisdom values with contemporary management principles

Abstract

Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Strategic Leadership: Implications for Ethical Governance, Employee Trust, and Organizational Performance in Indonesia Safina, Wan Dian; Hutasuhut, Julianto; Pratama, Nugraha; Mulyono, Hardi; Rahmat, Muhammad

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming strategic leadership, yet existing research in Indonesia has not systematically integrated how AI-enabled leadership, ethical governance, and employee trust are jointly represented across national policy, academic, and practitioner discourse. This study addresses this gap through a qualitative document analysis of a purposively assembled corpus of 42 Indonesian documents (2019–2025), including national policies (n=5), sectoral guidelines (n=4), academic articles (n=18), practitioner reports (n=10), and legal commentaries (n=5). Documents were retrieved via Google Scholar, institutional websites (Kominfo, OJK), and consultancy repositories using keywords: "AI leadership Indonesia", "etika kecerdasan buatan", "tata kelola AI", "kepercayaan karyawan AI", and "AI governance Indonesia". Inclusion criteria required direct relevance to AI in leadership/governance/workplace contexts, Indonesian focus, and publication between 2019-2025. Analysis treated documents as social artefacts, coding at the paragraph level using an iterative codebook (initial codes: n=24; final themes: n=4). Themes were validated through cross-source triangulation (requiring support from ≥2 document types) and peer debriefing (n=2 independent reviewers). Documentary evidence indicates that AI is framed as augmenting strategic sensing and performance monitoring, while generating concerns about data protection and algorithmic bias. National ethics circulars and sectoral guidelines begin to structure AI governance but are described as principle-heavy and unevenly translated into practice. Employee trust is portrayed as contingent on transparency, fairness, human oversight, and voice. Building exclusively on this documentary synthesis (not primary organizational field data), the article proposes a novel Indonesia-specific integrated framework in which ethical AI governance mechanisms mediate the relationship between AI-enabled strategic leadership and trust-based organizational performance. The framework’s novelty lies in specifying governance mechanisms (policies, assessments, committees, transparency, training) as mediators rather than moderators, grounded in an emerging-market context with high power distance and partial regulation.

Abstract

The literature review in this article intends to address the theoretical needs in planning, implementing, and evaluating as the Transformation of Human Resources (HR) for the future of the university in order to improve the caliber of lecturers' teaching. Planning is necessary for effective teaching in order to keep instructors and college students on the same page. Applying the right technology raises the bar for curricular and instructional advice, development, and professional support at institutions. Implementing instruction is possible if lecturers and college students take an active part in the quality improvement process. In the interaction between teaching and learning that affects cognitive, constructivist, transformational, and behavioral theories in the university setting, lecturers play a significant role. The effectiveness of lecturers' instruction can also be assessed through training, research, and technology transfer. By providing information, instructional materials, and human resource development geared on developing college students' skills and capabilities, lecturers can enhance college students' talents and widen their horizons. In this perspective, education is viewed as a technological process and as a product that can be packaged and applied to assess the effectiveness of instruction. Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT) are two examples of artificial intelligence technologies that could be the focus of future trends in the use of learning assistance software. This solution not only increases available space and learning opportunities for college students while also enhancing the quality of their education, but it also assists lecturers in utilizing digitization to their advantage in the future of higher education.

Abstract

This study intends to examine how customer satisfaction at the Auto 2000 office's Medan Amplas Branch is impacted by service quality and cost. Descriptive quantitative research has been selected as the method. 96 clients served as the study's sample population. A questionnaire is used as the data collecting method, and the results are evaluated using SPSS software based on the validity test, reliability test, and classical assumption test. The multiple linear regression test, the t test, the F test, and the coefficient of determination test were utilized in the data analysis technique (R2 test). According to the t test results, the service quality variable has a stronger impact on customer satisfaction than the price variable because its t count value is higher 4,300 than the pricing variable's t value, which is 3,051. The estimated F value, which is 568,732, is more than the 2,700 F value in the table. This demonstrates that the customer satisfaction variable is significantly and positively impacted by both the service quality and pricing. The adjusted R Square value of the coefficient of determination test findings was 0.923, or 92.3 percent. The percentage of service quality and price that can explain customer satisfaction is very high, at 93.3 percent, while the remaining 7.7 percent is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. This means that the variation in the relationship between service quality and price variables with customer satisfaction can be classified as very high.
