Abstract

The advancement of science and technology has contributed to an increased consumer awareness regarding the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle. Currently, trend towards healthier living is developing among consumers, with a growing interest in organic products, such as rice. Despite the rising awareness of healthy food, the high price of organic products often affect the consumers in consuming organic rice. Furthermore, the limited availability of organic rice also plays a significant role in restricting its consumption. This study was conducted to estimate consumers' WTP for organic rice. Through WTP analysis, this research endeavors to measure the extent to which consumers are willing to pay a premium for organic rice. The research was carried out at Superindo in Gresik, involving 51 respondents The research data were analyzed using the CVM. Three types of rice were subjected to WTP analysis: white organic rice, brown organic rice, and black organic rice. The WTP values for white, brown, and black organic rice were obtained as follows: Rp. 38,315.5/kg, Rp. 42,069/kg, and Rp. 49,463/kg, respectively. The differences in consumers' WTP for white, brown, and black organic rice are generally influenced by consumers' perceptions of the health benefits associated with each type of rice.

Abstract

The growth of urban agriculture has driven an increase in demand for healthy vegetables such as hydroponics in the city of Surabaya. Despite the increasing trend of consumption, consumer loyalty is still a challenge affecting the sustainability of the market. This study aims to analyze the influence of satisfaction and buying interest on the loyalty of hydroponic vegetable consumers. The study was conducted on 103 respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) approach to measure the relationship between latent variables. The results show that both consumer satisfaction and buying interest have a positive and significant influence on loyalty, with buying interest being the most dominant factor. An R² value of 0.745 indicates that the model has a high clarity of power over the loyalty variable, while a Q² value of 0.676 indicates the predictive power of the model. This research has a strategic impact for hydroponic agribusiness players to focus their marketing strategies on increasing purchase intention and satisfaction through education, product quality, and emotional approach to consumers. Theoretically, these findings strengthen the study of consumer behavior in the context of sustainable agribusiness in urban areas.

Abstract

Abstract

The majority of farmers in Indonesia use chemical pesticides in cultivating their crops. Residues of chemical pesticides when used continuously will be harmful to the surrounding environment. Botanical pesticides are an alternative to chemical pesticides made from natural ingredients, namely plants. One of the plants that can be used as a vegetable pesticide is papaya leaves. KWT Turi Makmur has not utilized papaya leaves as a vegetable pesticide. The socialization regarding the manufacture of papaya leaf vegetable pesticides aims to provide knowledge and utilize natural materials around to become vegetable pesticides. The method used is observation, practice of making papaya leaf vegetable pesticides, and implementation consisting of outreach, demonstrations, and handing over of plant pesticides. As a result, KWT Turi Makmur received new insights and was proactive in terms of using natural ingredients and how to make them into vegetable pesticides. The main raw materials of vegetable pesticides consist of papaya leaves, garlic and cayenne pepper while the supporting materials are dishwashing soap and water. It is important to carry out socialization and training activities in order to obtain maximum results in the prevention and control of plant pests, where previously chemical pesticides were used which had harmful risks to living things and the surrounding environment.

Abstract

The training program on making Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) in Gading Village, Pasuruan District, East Java, is a response to two major challenges: the declining allocation of subsidized fertilizers and the infestation of carp snails in rice crops. This initiative aims to turn threats into opportunities by utilizing carp snails and papaya peel waste as raw materials for POC. Through collaboration between PT Lembaga Sahabat Petani and UPN "Veteran" East Java students, the training was conducted using a theoretical and hands-on approach. The methods used included Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and demonstration of POC making. The results of the training show significant potential in improving agricultural productivity and farmers' welfare, although long-term evaluation is still needed. The program offers an economical and environmentally friendly solution to overcome dependence on chemical fertilizers and support sustainable agriculture. Suggestions for development include periodic monitoring, development of distribution networks, involvement of local government, further research, and establishment of farmer groups specifically for POC production and development.
