Abstract

Pisang merupakan komoditas hortikultura strategis di Indonesia yang berpotensi ekonomi tinggi, namun belum sepenuhnya dimanfaatkan petani kecil di pedesaan. Salah satu kendala utamanya terbatasnya akses terhadap bibit unggul yang sehat dan seragam. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberdayakan Kelompok Wanita Tani Srikandi di Desa Pace Kabupaten Jember melalui budidaya bibit pisang hasil kultur jaringan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Participatory Rural Appraisal mencakup penyuluhan dan diskusi interaktif, serta praktek budidaya pisang di pekarangan. Tim juga menyalurkan bibit pisang unggulan hasil kultur jaringan. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta terkait pemahaman kelebihan bibit kultur jaringan, keragaman jenis pisang unggul, penyiapan lahan, penanaman hingga perawatan. Adopsi bibit hasil kultur jaringan dapat mengurangi risiko penyakit, mendukung produktivitas dan keberlanjutan budidaya pisang.

Abstract

Pengambangan tanaman kentang di dataran medium atau rendah sangat diperlukan untuk memperluas areal penanamannya. Oleh sebab itu harus ditunjang dengan metode kultur in vitro untuk memproduksi umbi dan tunas mikro kentang dan secara teknis diperlukan asupan zat pengatur tumbuh dan konsentrasi sukrosa yang cocok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari beberapa jenis auksin dan beberapa level sukrosa terhadap pembentukan umbi mikro dan regenerasi tunas kentang DTO-28 dan Desiree, serta mengetahui jenis auksin terbaik dan konsentrasi sukrosa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 4 bulan dan disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial dengan 5 ulangan. Faktor perlakuan pertama ialah kultivar kentang (DTO-28 dan Desiree). Faktor kedua ialah auksin (IAA, IBA, NAA) dan faktor ketiga ialah konsentrasi sukrosa yang terdiri atas tiga taraf (90g/l, 120g/l, 150g/l). Parameter yang diamati meliputi persentase pembentukan umbi, waktu inisiasi, jumlah dan diameter umbi mikro, serta jumlah dan panjang tunas. Jenis auksin yang mampu memacu pembentukan umbi mikro lebih baik adalah NAA. Selain itu data menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi sukrosa yang diberikan akan berpengaruh pada jumlah umbi yang terbentuk. Perlakuan yang menggunakan 0,25 ppm NAA + 150 g/l sukrosa berpengaruh sangat nyata pada saat inisiasi umbi, yaitu pada 22 HST dan menghasilkan umbi terbanyak yaitu rata-rata 2,4 umbi/planlet. Kultivar yang sangat responsif terhadap media perlakuan adalah DTO-28. Selain itu, hasil analisis manyatakan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi sukrosa semakin menurunkan jumlah dan menghambat pemanjangan tunas. Sukrosa pada konsentrasi 90 g/l memberikan jumlah tunas terbanyak yaitu rata-rata 5,27 tunas dengan panjang rata-rata 4,70 cm.Kata kunci: umbi mikro, sukrosa, auksin, desiree, DTO-28

Abstract

The majority of the people of Slateng Village, Ledokombo, and Jember are farmers whose main commodities are food and horticultural crops, which have high potential. However, there are crucial problems that threaten to reduce food crop productivity. This problem arises as a result of the large number of pests that attack. Pest management outreach and training in making natural pesticides made from the active ingredient sulfur or jadam sulfur, understanding the problems, and solving existing problems. Community service activities are carried out in several stages. First, socialization and counseling are carried out regarding the types of agricultural pests. Second, the socialization of the use of jadam sulfur pesticide as a multi-purpose pest treatment. Third, an explanation of the composition of sulfur jadam based on monitoring results. Lastly, training in making sulfur jadam. Through this outreach and training, farmers' knowledge of managing agricultural pests increases.

Abstract

Sumberjambe District is one of the livestock centers in Jember Regency. The Raung Mandiri Livestock Group in Jambearum Village, Sumberjambe District, which was inaugurated at the end of 2023, already has 300 sheep. The problem faced is that members of the livestock group do not know alternative types of forage, how to propagate it and how to make silage. So far, food has been provided by searching for grass in the forest or in the fields every day, so it is hampered during the rainy season. The aim of this activity is to introduce alternative types of forage, cultivation methods and silage making in the context of initiating the Feed Bank. The methods used in carrying out activities include socialization and training, which involve participants taking an active role in activities that directly go into practice. The results of the activity showed that participants gain knowledge regarding alternative types of forage other than babandotan, elephant grass. Participants are able to reproduce, sow and plant forage seeds. Support for inputs for the initiation of the Feed Bank has been handed over in the form of chooper machines and forage seeds.

Abstract

Introduction: Shallots are a horticultural product needed by the Indonesian people, the production of shallots has decreased by 16.54%. The decline in production in 2018 was caused by extreme weather in the first quarter which resulted in a significant decrease in production. The purpose of the study was to determine the interaction between the use of varieties and the administration of ZPT at various concentrations on the growth and development of shallot plants. Methods: The experimental design used a randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factors, namely, the onion variety factor (V1: Bauji variety and V2: Blue Lancor variety) and the concentration of PGR (BAP and GA3) consisting of Z0: control (without PGR), Z1: BAP 50 ppm, Z2: GA3 150 ppm, Z3: BAP 50 ppm + GA3 150 ppm. Results: The results showed that the use of various varieties and concentrations of PGR did not affect the vegetative growth of Shallots. The use of various varieties has a significantly different effect on the generative development of shallot plants. The use of ZPT concentrations did not affect the generative development of plants. Two varieties, namely Bauji and Biru Lancor, were unable to influence the growth and development of shallots in the vegetative and generative phases because of the genetic characteristics of the plants whose function was to characterize each variety. Apart from genetic factors, this is thought to be caused by the degree of suitability of the variety to its environment. Conclusion: The Bauji variety is more suitable to be planted in the lowlands of Antirogo than the Blue Lancor variety.

Abstract

Introduction: Banana plants are easy to find and grow in Indonesia, including in Jember. Banana production in Jember in 2020 increased by 50% and has the potential to be inventoried and developed. Information regarding the characteristics of various banana cultivars is needed for future banana breeding. This research was conducted to identify and classify the genome of bananas growing in Jember and determine the level of banana diversity. Methods: The banana exploration using a purposive sampling method. The observation of 15 morphological characters followed the method of Simmonds and Shepherd. Determination of the genome followed the method of Silayoi & Chamchalow and Singh & Uma. The kinship analysis uses cluster analysis using the average linkage method and Gower distance, by R Studio software. Results: There were 23 banana cultivars obtained in this research, consisting of 35% dessert bananas and 65% plantain types. Genome identification results in four genome groups, namely AA/AAA, AAB, ABB, and BB. Cluster analysis produces three main groups, where its branch is generally consistent with the genome grouping. The closest relationship is between Rayap and Seribu bananas (0.96), while the furthest is between Gaje and Agung bananas (0.38). The dissimilarity value for 23 banana cultivars is 0.36, or the similarity is 0.64. Conclusion: The 23 banana cultivars are closely related or have low diversity based on the 15 morphological characters observed. Further identification can be carried out with a greater number of morphological characters, accompanied by molecular identification.

Abstract

The productivity of sugarcane is decreasing and there are more and more varieties in circulation. The decrease in productivity is caused by the incompatibility of each variety of land typology. The purpose of this research is to arrange the right varieties in increasing the productivity of sugarcane. The research method is surveying and matching. Parameters used include soil texture, land type conditions, soil drainage conditions, and rainfall. Based on the research results, the total working area of 11,866.81 ha was divided into 4 land typologies, namely BHJ with an area of 2,910.95 hectares (24.53%), BPJ with an area of 2,047.44 hectares (17.25%), RHL an area of 471.12 hectares (3.97%), RPL area of 1,527.01 hectares (12.87%). Abstract

Di Indonesia, mangga terdistribusi luas dan memiliki keragaman bentuk, ukuran, rasa dan bentuk daun. Jawa Timur termasuk sentra produksi mangga dengan produksi mencapai 41% dari produksi nasional. Beragam jenis mangga dapat tumbuh baik di Kabupaten Jember. Mangga lokal yang ada perlu dikarakterisasi terutama yang memiliki keunggulan untuk dapat dikembangkan sebagai buah unggulan daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakterisasi morfologi berbagai jenis mangga dari delapan kecamatan di Kabupaten Jember. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Data pengamatan dianalisis deskriptif, korelasi, biplot, dan klaster. Hasil eksplorasi diperoleh 12 jenis mangga terdiri atas mangga lokal seperti apel hijau, apel merah, padi, cantel, mahatir, telur, madura selain gadung, manalagi, arum manis, golek, dan kweni. Hasil analisis menunjukkan koefisien variasi yang tinggi pada karakter panjang tangkai daun dan panjang tangkai bunga. Dua karakter tersebut juga berkorelasi sangat signifikan dan positif, demikian pula karakter panjang dan lebar buah terhadap bobot buah. Panjang helai daun dapat digunakan dalam menentukan karakter penciri morfologi daun mangga.  Jenis mangga Cantel memiliki keunikan dengan tingkat ketidakmiripan 43,5% dibandingkan 11 jenis mangga lainnya. Abstract

Red chili consumption in Indonesia is recorded to increase by 6.78% or 40.42 thousand tons in 2024 from 1,650.75 thousand tons in 2022, while productivity in 2025 is projected to increase by 6.78%, while chili productivity in 2024 is 1,386.45 thousand tons. 37% of the land area in the Kesambi Sub-watershed is marginal and has potential for horticultural cultivation. The research aims to align land and chili cultivation management on the slopes of Mount Raung, Indonesia, toward sustainable agriculture and national food self-sufficiency. The method used is through data collection, both laboratory data and land biophysical data that are adjusted to match the suitability with plant growth requirements. The results of the study showed that the actual land suitability of red chili plants at 78.87% or 2,558.48 ha was dominated by the marginally suitable class (S3), and 21.13% or 685.58 ha were in the unsuitable category (N), with the most inhibiting factors being erosion hazards, nutrient retention, and air availability. Efforts to improve land quality to produce optimal production for crop achievement through the addition of agricultural fertilizers such as NPK, the provision of organic matter and dolomite, and slope improvement by making “gulud” terraces or providing mulch so that the potential land was achieved to 67.11% or 2,177.01 ha dominated by class S3, 21.13% or 685.58 ha were categorized as unsuitable class (N), and 11.76% or 381.47 ha were categorized as quite suitable class (S2).

Abstract

AbstrakMasyarakat Desa Slateng Kecamatan Ledokombo Kabupaten Jember lereng Gunung Raung berada di landform vulkanik mayoritas bermata pencaharian dalam bidang pertanian. Komoditas pertanian yang dikembangkan yaitu tanaman pangan, tanaman hortikultura, dan perkebunan. Kendala yang dihadapi yang mengancam dalam proses pertanian masyarakat rendahnya kadar nitrogen dalam tanah (< 1%) sehingga mengakibatkan daun tanaman menguning dan dapat menurunkan hasil produktivitas tanaman 50% dari potensi yang seharusnya. Permasalahan tersebut penting untuk diselesaikan sehingga produktifitas sesuai yang diharapkan. Tujuan kegiatan penerapan teknologi pupuk organik cair nitrobacter dari alam sebagai upaya peningkatan produktifitas tanah lahan vulkanik lereng gunung raung. Metode penyelesaian masalah melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan dan praktek langsung pemanfaatan bahan alam melalui peran aktif peserta dalam pembuatan nitrobakter. Kegiatan program pengabdian dihadiri 25 peserta oleh kelompok tani harapan pengurus kelompok tani, sekretaris desa, dan petugas penyuluh dari dinas pertanian dan hortikultura kabupaten Jember. Hasil kegiatan meningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta 50 % yang sebelumnya pemahaman terkait dengan Nitrobakter hanya 40% menjadi 80%. Kata kunci: degradasi lahan, nitrogen; kesuburan tanah; pupuk hayati cair Abstract The people of Slateng Village, Ledokombo District, Jember Regency, on the slopes of Mount Raung, located on volcanic landforms, the majority make their living in agriculture. The agricultural commodities developed are food crops, horticultural crops, and plantations. The obstacles faced that threaten the community's agricultural process are low levels of nitrogen in the soil (< 1%) which cause plant leaves to turn yellow and can reduce plant productivity results by 50% of their potential. It is important to solve these problems so that productivity is as expected. The aim of the activity is to apply nitrobacter liquid organic fertilizer technology from nature as an effort to increase soil productivity on the volcanic slopes of Mount Raung. Problem-solving methods through socialization, training, and direct practice in the use of natural materials through the active role of participants in making nitrobacteria. The service program activities were attended by 25 participants from the farmer group Hope, farmer group administrators, village secretaries, and extension officers from the Jember district agriculture and horticulture service. The results of the activity increased participants' knowledge and skills by 50%, from previously only 40% understanding regarding Nitrobacteria to 80%. Keywords: land degradation; nitrogen; soil fertility; liquid biofertilizer
