Abstract

Rice is an important commodity and the availability of rice supply in Indonesia must be maintained, because rice is the staple food of the Indonesian people which must always be fulfilled at all times. However, the fact is that the average productivity of rice produced by farmers is still low. Low rice productivity reflects the capacity of farmers in rice farming. The aims of this research are: (1) to know the level of farmer's capacity? and (2) to find out what factors that affect the capacity of farmers. This research was conducted in Kabupaten Lampung Tengah with the number of respondents as many as 100 farmers. The data analysis method used is multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the level of farmer's capacity was in the medium category. Factors that have a significant effect on farmer’s capacity are farmer’s’ age, farming experience, farmer’s motivation, community support, farmer group support, and agricultural extension support, while formal education, non-formal education, cosmopolitan level, land area, and family support have no significant effect on the capacity of farmers in rice farming.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of climate change on the productivity of rice farming businesses, know the knowledge, attitudes, and adaptability to climate change, and present a review and criticism analysis for product updates related to climate change. The study respondents numbered 100 rice farmers in Lampung Province. The processed data is analyzed by using descriptive statistics, using Crosstabs analysis to calculate the frequency and percentage of two or more variables at once while to see the influence of farmer behavior is using path analysis. The results of this study showed that the impact of climate change greatly affects rice farming businesses which leads to a decrease in the productivity of farmers' rice farming businesses. The lack of knowledge of farmers about climate change and the attitude of farmers in dealing with climate change are great concern, but in the follow-up to curiosity and problem solving tends to be less, this is due to farmers less enthusiastic in determining the attitude of climate change. The level of adaptation of farmers to climate change only occurs when determining planting time, so it needs to increase the power due to climate change. Recommendations from these results, among others, related to regulations that require renewal. This update obtained two perspectives, namely the legal perspective and the perspective of the development of the climate issue itself.

Abstract

Agricultural Extension Service (Indonesian: Balai Penyuluh Pertanian; BPP) Strategic Command for Agricultural Development (Indonesian: Komando Strategis Pembangunan Pertanian; KOSTRATANI) serves as a crucial data and information center for agricultural extension activities. Through data collection, the BPP can provide extension workers with the necessary information to make informed decisions, create plans, and evaluate activities. As such, it is essential to support the role of BPP as a data and information center by providing adequate facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to examine the relationship between facilities and infrastructure and the function of BPP as a data and information center at BPP Sidomulyo and Candipuro in the South Lampung district. Data was collected in November 2021, and the study's respondents included 16 agricultural extension workers. The analysis was carried out using the Spearman rank statistic test, and the results revealed a positive relationship between facilities and infrastructure and the function of BPP KOSTRATANI as an information data center. The availability of facilities and infrastructure was found to be in the good to excellent category, with each percentage being 39.06 percent. These findings suggest the importance of supporting the BPP's facilities and infrastructure to maintain its role as a data and information center for agricultural extension activities.

Abstract

The declining number of Tapis craftsmen signifies a waning cultural interest. It is imperative to proactively address the imperative of ensuring the continuity of Tapis Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as a means to safeguard Lampung's rich craft heritage in an ever-evolving world. Thus, a comprehensive analysis of the business sustainability of Tapis MSMEs within the younger generation, who serve as both successors and conservators of the Lampung Tapis tradition, becomes a necessity. This study is dedicated to evaluating the status of business continuity within the Tapis Jejama Kham MSME, conducted during September-October 2022 in Negeri Katon, Pesawaran, Lampung, Indonesia. The research engaged 32 respondents, all of whom were members of the Tapis Jejama Kham MSMEs, aged between 16 and 30 years. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach with a focus on the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) methodology, this study elucidates that the economic aspect, driven by the aspirations of the younger generation to enhance their family's standard of living, predominantly underpins the sustainability of this enterprise.
