Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the politeness scale of expressive speech acts of complaining found in the anime Relife episodes 1-13. The purpose of this study was to determine the politeness scale in expressive speech complaining. The object of research is the characters in the anime Relife episodes 1-13. This research is a descriptive qualitative research by interpreting the object under study based on Leech's (1983) politeness theory. The data was obtained by listening to the expressive utterances used by the characters and taking notes and then grouping them into each type. The results of this study indicate that the characters in the anime Relife episodes 1-13 use five types of Leech's politeness scale. Loss and gain scale, preference scale, indirectness scale, authority scale and social distance scale. In analyzing the use of the politeness scale in the ReLife anime , 21 data were found.Key Words: Politeness Scale, Expressive Speech Acts.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is intended to find out how the metaphor of Indonesiantranslated into Japanese in the novel “Cantik Itu Luka”, which has beentranslated into Japanese entitled Bi Wa Kizu. The method of this research isdescriptive. The writer analyzed the method and procedure the translator used intranslating the Indonesian metaphor into Japanese and so do the theory used increating the correspondence between the meanings of the words.Based on the study results, (1) the authors concluded that the translatoruses communicative translation method, which emphasizes the translation in thetarget language. Meanwhile, the procedure used is the procedure of changing theshape and change the meaning. (2) Metaphor senses animals on source text (TSu)is translated into three forms that is metaphor becomes general meaning,metaphor becomes metaphor with different senses, and metaphor becomesmetaphor with the same senses. (3)Metaphor senses anthropomorphic istranslated to be literal meaning. (4) Metaphor abstract to concrete is translatedinto four form that is metaphor becomes metaphor with different sense, metaphorbecomes literal meaning, metaphor is eliminated, metaphor becomes metaphorwith additional sense. (5) Synesthesia metaphor is translated to the samemetaphor.Keyword: Metaphor, Translation, Cantik Itu Luka

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the strategy of translating Japanese discourse into Indonesian by Japanese Education Department Riau University. 60 data were collected from 2 discourse whuch will be translated by 30 students. They were asked to translated discourse on sports and social themes using Google Translate. This research using the translation strategy theory proposed by Suryawinata & Hariyanto (2003: 67), addition, deletion, transposition, borrowing, komponential analysis, synonymy and modulation, by Gambier (2006), deletion, addition and substitution and translation procedures by Newmark (1998) (transposition, modulation, adaptation, contextual conditioning, transference and functional conditioning). Findings showed that the students tended to use the transposition and substitution strategy in their translation. This affected the quality of the translation, making it less natural in the target language. In addition, there was mistranslation due to inaccurate/wrong word choices, causing the messages within the source text to fail to be conveyed. This study is hoped to bring valuableinput for the translation studies and courses in the future.Key Words: Translation Strategy, Google Translate.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis is a descriptive research which examines erors made by the third year students of the Japanese study programe, education faculty, Riau University in learning Japanese languange particurarly in grammar and vocabulary. The erors in thesis both areas: grammar and vocabulary observe because of the different of the L1 and L2 and edition the verb kureru and morau has the same meaning with Indonesian.The aim of this study is to discovery what tipe of erors made by student and the factors contribute to the occurance of erors using. This research uses statistic descriptive inferencial with the percentage model to proces the colletive data.The finding explain that big percentage of the students have mad erors in using verb kureru and morau that function as auxiliary verbs. The clearly observed erors are in selecting which verbs are appropriately used and placing the subject, object and particle properly.The causes of the erors are due to lack of competence of the students in mastering the use of verbs in sentences using kureru and morau. The research concluded that more than of students experienced erors which have been evident from the 48,8 % percentage of erors rate. Far than more in general third year students of Japanese education, Riau University, only gain more fully comprehensive the lexical meaning of kureru and morau than sintaxical patterns.Key word : kureru, morau, giving and receiving

Abstract

Abstract: As a Japanese learner, reading articles in Japanese is necessary to increase insight into the development of Japanese life in all fields, it can also improve someone's language skills. In learning Japanese there are several skills that are learned, one of them is dokkai. Dokkai (reading comprehension) is an ability that a person has in understanding reading texts and being able to conclude the information received through the reading in his own language. There are several types of Japanese text in learning dokkai, most of them are descriptive text. This research was conducted to determine the level of undestanding descriptive text in 2019 students majoring in Japanese Education, Riau University. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. This research used tests to collect the data. The participants of the research were 33 college students from 2019 students majoring in Japanese Education, Riau University. The result obtained were that understanding test results are still in the low range. Students tend to be able to remember concrete things that appear in the text. However, students are still unable to mention synonyms and explain the contents of the text.Key word : Descriptive Text , Dokkai, Understanding

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the meaning of Japanese proverbs that use color. Every Japanese proverb has a variety of meanings contained in it. In this study, we will discuss the meaning of Japanese proverbs that use color. The data from this study is a collection of Japanese proverbs that use color. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The source of proverb data from this research comes from the Kotowaza Jiten Online dictionary. The color proverb data found in the Online dictionary reveals 5 colors such as red, blue, black, white, and yellow. The results of the analysis of Japanese proverbs that use color found various color meanings, there are colors that have meanings as blood, young, good, evil, and loud are found in Japanese proverbs.Key Words: Proverb, Colors, Meaning

Abstract

Abstract : This study is about interjections translation in One Piece comic. The purpose of this study is to examines interjections and describes the procedures and method of translation based on Newmark theory, and analyze the equivalences of Japanese interjections into Indonesian language. The data of this study were analyze using qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study found 14 interjections using the semantic translation method, and 3 translation procedures, that is componential analysis translation, through translation, and naturalisation translation.Key Word: Interjection, Translation, Comic

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the functions that appear in Japanese conversations in making appointments on the telephone. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The source of the data in this study is in the form of Japanese telephone conversations recorded using zoom media. The number of respondents in this study consisted of 10 students at Kobe University Japan which will be divided into two groups of Japanese people who will have telephone conversations in making appointments with close friends and with people of higher social status. The data analysis technique used qualitative analysis. The results of data analysis obtained in this study are the functions that appear in Japanese conversations when making telephone appointments with close friends or peers (students and students) and with people with higher social status (lecturers and students).Key Words: Discourse Analysis, Communication, Pragmatics

Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed to analyze code mixing which spoken directly by japanese students in social media. Methode in research qualitative and descriptive methode that using literature study researc instrument. The object of this research is the expressing of code mixing in social media such as; facebook, twitter, instagram, line, and whatsapp. In this research found code mixing in words, phrase, baster, word repeatation, idiom, and clause. So, in conclusions the students disposed japanese word inserting on their social media status, due to word code mixing is easier and simple used in status. The factor that influence code mixing occurs in the group of japanese education students in FKIP Universitas Riau are the partner that decreasing humor sense and just prestigious.Key Words : Mixing Code, Social Media, Japanese Language

Abstract: This research aims to identified variety of antonyms used in the Japanese text books Minna no Nihongo Shokyuu I, II and New Approach Japanese Intermediate Course. The method is a descriptive qualitative were used the theory of variety of antonym by Fromkin and Rodman. Based on the analysis, variety of antonyms was found.
