Abstract

Sustainable employee performance is essential for Islamic banks seeking to maintain service quality, competitiveness, and organizational continuity while supporting employee well-being. This study aimed to examine the effects of work-life balance, work motivation, and reward systems on sustainable employee performance, with employee commitment as a mediating variable at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Jakarta Thamrin Area. A quantitative explanatory design was applied involving 148 respondents selected from a population of 236 employees using simple random sampling. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings indicated that work-life balance, work motivation, and employee commitment had positive and significant effects on sustainable employee performance, whereas the reward system had no significant effect. Work-life balance, work motivation, and the reward system positively and significantly influenced employee commitment. Employee commitment partially mediated the relationship between work motivation and sustainable employee performance but did not mediate the effects of work-life balance or the reward system. The model explained 33.0% of the variance in sustainable employee performance and 65.7% of the variance in employee commitment. Consequently, management should prioritize work-life balance, employee motivation, and commitment while redesigning reward systems to better reflect employee needs and organizational values. commitment as a mediating variable at PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Jakarta Thamrin Area.
