Abstract

Thematic KKN activities carried out in Abeko Village, Ranomeeto Barat District, South Konawe Regency, focused on technical guidance on making compost for peri-urban communities. This program aims to improve community skills and knowledge in processing organic waste into environmentally friendly and economical compost. This activity is in line with efforts to support government programs in realizing sustainable agriculture and reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers that can damage the soil in the long term. The evaluation results showed that this training was able to improve the understanding and skills of participants, as evidenced by their success in making compost piles that met standards. In addition, participants were also able to identify organic materials available in the surrounding environment, such as plant residues and livestock manure, and understand how to maintain temperature and humidity during the fermentation process.

Abstract

This research aims (1) to explain the procedure for implementing the tradition of zakat fitrah (known as "lawatino pitaraa") in the Muna ethnic community, and (2) to discover and explain the wisdom and symbolic meanings inherent in the tradition of zakat fitrah's implementation in shaping the character of the Muna ethnic community. This study was conducted in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The selection of informants was carried out using the snowballing technique. The data collection techniques used were: (1) direct observation, (2) in-depth interviews, and (3) literature study related to zakat fitrah. Qualitative descriptive data analysis was performed on the procedure for implementation and the symbolic meanings of zakat fitrah in the tradition of the Muna ethnic community. The research findings indicate that: (1) The implementation of "lawatino pitaraa" in the Muna ethnic group is led by a "modhi" who functions as the zakat administrator. The main stages of its implementation include: (a) the "muzakki" (the person giving zakat) handing over money according to their zakat obligation or substituting it with rice or corn; (b) the "muzakki" articulating their intention, (c) the "muzakki" grasping the rice or corn, (d) the turn of the zakat administrator to hold the rice or corn while simultaneously blowing on it with intention, (e) the zakat administrator leading a prayer to Allah SWT followed by the "muzakki"; (2) The significance of zakat fitrah's implementation in fostering the social concern character of the Muna ethnic group includes values of honesty/integrity, adherence to principles, surrender, inner peace, and submission to Allah SWT for the forgiveness of sins, purification of wealth, hope for a better future life, health, and longevity, as well as gratitude to Allah SWT. Zakat fitrah represents a social responsibility to create collective happiness among different social, cultural, and economic groups.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Wakuni Village, Sawerigadi District, West Muna Regency with the aim of knowing the process of implementation, symbolic meaning, and the values contained in the Popanga ritual of the Muna ethnic group. The method used in this study isdescriptive qualitative. Data collection is done by observation (observation), in-depth interviews,and documentation. The technique of determining informants in this study was conducted bypurposive sampling, while the informants in this study were 6 people consisting of religiousleaders, traditional leaders, community leaders and other informants who knew the custom. Thedata analysis technique in this study consists of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the process ofperforming the popanga ritual has several stages, namely (1) the stage of preparation for theritual popanga (2) the stage of implementation (3) the stage of the kasolo (looking at thesituation). The symbolic meaning in the popanga ritual is divided into two types, namely (1) themeaning of tools and offerings (2) the meaning of speech. The valuescontained in the popanga ritual are religious values, cultural values, and social values.

Abstract

Kearifan lokal merupakan pengetahuan dan praktik tradisional yang diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi, yang berfungsi untuk mengelola sumber daya alam secara berkelanjutan. Dalam konteks pengelolaan sumber daya alam pesisir, kearifan lokal seperti Pangloma laot, Adat Sasi, Bapongka, Awig-Awig dan Monguni memainkan peran penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem, meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, dan mempertahankan identitas budaya. Kearifan lokal dalam mengelola sumber daya alam pesisir adalah warisan budaya yang sangat berharga, yang menggabungkan pengetahuan tradisional dan praktik lokal untuk menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Dengan memperkuat dan melestarikan kearifan lokal ini, kita dapat memastikan bahwa sumber daya alam pesisir dapat dimanfaatkan secara berkelanjutan untuk generasi yang akan datang.

Abstract

Cultural tourism has become one of the most dynamic sectors in the global tourism industry. Muna Regency has a variety of traditions that can be used as cultural tourism, one of which is the kamooru wuna tradition. In addition to its woven fabric products (kamooru), weaving activities can also be an exciting cultural tourism attraction because the process and tools used are still traditional. For kamooru wuna to succeed as a leading tourism commodity and to preserve this craft, it is necessary to conduct a study aimed at identifying the prospects for developing kamooru wuna-based cultural tourism and formulating strategies for developing cultural tourism based on the kamooru wuna tradition. This research was conducted in Muna Regency. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, literature reviews, and focus group discussions. Informants were determined using snowball sampling. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis methods. The results of the study show that the Kamooru Wuna tradition can be utilized as a cultural tourism offering that incorporates elements of authenticity, uniqueness, quality, characteristic products, and a source of pride for the region, as well as a diverse range of tourist attractions. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis and FGD, several strategies were formulated for the development of cultural tourism based on the kamooru wuna tradition in Muna Regency, namely: 1) Development of the appeal of kamooru Wuna and the Masalili Weaving Tourism Village, 2) Addition of tourism support facilities and environmental cleanliness, 3) Development of integrated cultural tourism (agro-tourism and rural tourism), 4) Developing human resources and strengthening institutions, and 5) Developing local cotton and yarn centres in Muna Regency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis eksistensi Tradisi Duata pada masyarakat Bajo di Desa Langara Bajo serta strategi masyarakat dalam mempertahankan tradisi tersebut. Metode penelitian dalam pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik penentuan informan menggunakan metode purposive. Data dianalisis melalui tahap pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori fungsionalisme Emile Durkheim yang menyatakan bahwa eksistensi diartikan sebagai keberadaan kebudayaan bagi masyarakat dan bahwa unsur-unsur tersebut saling berkaitan untuk mencapai tujuan bersama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tradisi Duata di Desa Langara Bajo tetap eksis, meskipun mengalami perubahan pada beberapa indikator seperti agama, teknologi, infrastruktur, dan lingkungan. Strategi masyarakat dalam mempertahankan tradisi Duata meliputi pelaksanaan pengobatan Duata di tempat terbuka atau di darat dengan cakupan yang lebih luas, peran aktif Sandro atau dukun dalam memimpin proses pengobatan dan mendorong pelestarian tradisi, serta memperkenalkan tradisi Duata kepada masyarakat luas melalui komunikasi lisan yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Bajo. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Tradisi Duata tetap menjadi identitas penting bagi suku Bajo di tengah perubahan sosial dan budaya

Abstract

Pengobatan Kasighurambe dalam bahasa Muna merujuk pada kondisi salah urat yang umumnya terjadi pada bayi berusia 0–12 bulan dan balita usia 1–5 tahun. Kasighurambe biasanya disebabkan oleh bayi atau balita yang sering terjatuh, sehingga mengakibatkan gangguan urat. Gejala yang muncul pada anak yang mengalami Kasighurambe antara lain demam dan batuk, yang diyakini sebagai akibat darigangguan urat tersebut.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pelaksanaan tradisi pengobatan Kasighurambe serta menjelaskanmakna mantra yang terkandung di dalamnya pada masyarakat Suku Muna di Desa Lailangga, Kecamatan Wadaga, Kabupaten Muna Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi pengobatan Kasighurambe memiliki tahapan-tahapan tertentu, antara lain penentuan waktu dan tempat pelaksanaan, serta keterlibatan pihak-pihak tertentu dalam proses pengobatan. Proses pelaksanaan pengobatan dimulai dengan tahapan diagnosis penyakit oleh dukun, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan tahappengobatan. Langkah awal dalam proses ini adalah mempersiapkan minyak gosok, yang kemudian dituangkan dan dioleskan oleh dukun ke seluruh tubuh bayi sambil membacakan mantra. Setelah itu, dukun akan melakukan pengurutan pada kaki kiri dan kanan secara berulang, dilanjutkan dengan mengurut seluruh tubuh untuk mencari bagian urat yang dianggap sakit. Sebagai penutup, dukun membacakan mantra ke dalam air minum yang kemudian diberikan kepada bayi untuk diminum. Dalam proses ini, mantra yang digunakan memiliki makna tersendiri yang menjadi bagian penting dari tradisi pengobatan Kasighurambe.

Abstract

Ritual kaghotino buku merupakan ungkapan rasa syukur keluarga kepada Tuhan yang diyakini ikut mengatur kehidupan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan, fungsi, dan makna simbolik dari ritual kaghotino buku  di Desa Fongkaniwa  Kecamatan Tongkuno Kabupaten Muna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan ritual Kaghotino Buku terdiri atas tahapan persiapan dan pelaksanaan ritual. Ritual ini memiliki beberapa fungsi, yaitu fungsi sosial-psikologi, fungsi personal, fungsi kesehatan, dan fungsi religi.Fungsi sosial-psikologi mencerminkan keyakinan masyarakat sebagai bentuk reaksi positif terhadap asimilasi antara pikiran dan kepercayaan tradisional. Ritual ini berperan sebagai sarana permohonan dukungan spiritual melalui hubungan batin antara anggota masyarakat. Fungsi personal bersifat individual, yang ditujukan untuk kesejahteraan pribadi pelaksana ritual. Fungsi kesehatan tercermin dalam penyajian makanan bergizi seperti daging ayam kampung, telur rebus, nasi, dan pisang, yang menjadi bagian penting dari ritual sebagai media pemenuhan kebutuhan biologis.Fungsi religi menjadi dasar utama pembentukan budaya, termasuk dalam pelaksanaan ritual Kaghotino Buku di Desa Fongkaniwa. Ritual ini berakar pada ajaran Islam dan mencerminkan hubungan spiritual antara manusia dengan Tuhan. Nilai-nilai religi diwujudkan melalui pembacaan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an dalam mantra, sebagai bentuk doa, syukur, serta harapan akan kekuatan, kesehatan, dan kelancaran rezeki. Makna simbolik dalam Haroa ritual Kaghotino Buku , berupa nasi, ayam, telur, pisang, dan air minum, dimaknai sebagai ungkapan rasa syukur serta harapan atas kekuatan fisik untuk keselamatan dan kemudahan dalam memperoleh rezeki.Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pelestarian tradisi lokal sebagai identitas budaya dan spiritual masyarakat Muna

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to formulate an integrated and effective collaboration model for developing tourist destinations in Lohia District, Muna Regency, to address limited infrastructure, human resource capacity, promotion, tourism product innovation, and low community participation. This research was conducted in Lohia District, Muna Regency. Data collection methods used were observation, in-depth interviews, and literature review. Informants were selected using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used was descriptive qualitative. The results indicate that: 1) Tourism potential in Lohia District can be developed into marine tourism, agricultural tourism or agrotourism, rural tourism, and cultural tourism; 2) Tourism destination development must be understood holistically and requires collaboration from all parties, including the government, readers, the community, and the media; 4) The quadruple helix collaboration model for integrated tourism development in Lohia District is designed by combining three integrations: 1) Integration of tourism destination development components, 2) Integration of tourism types or themes, and 3) Integration of stakeholders. This approach is called the Triple Quadruple Helix.
